The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 25

Hi all! I only have a few minutes before I have to head back out.

I need the power of the DDA to say a prayer for one of my co-workers, Butch & his family. His wife called me at work today & he had a massive heart attack. When the paramedics got to him, he had no pulse & they were able to bring him back. Right now he is comatose & has been life lighted to a hospital that specializes in heart attacks. Kathy was told that they hope he pulls through.

Please pray, say a good thought, or whatever you do for Butch. He just has to make it through this :sad1:

Haven't they sent those kids HOME for the summer yet? Don't you people up north know it is after Memorial Day? Kids are supposed to be finished with school!:rotfl2:

It stinks for us now, but don't you Southerners know that August is a SUMMER month. School should start in September!

Becky - I just don't want you to miss out on a great opportunity (should one present itself) out of loyalty to your store. District Managers are very skilled at making you feel like you are the ONLY person who could possibly do the job and they also are very good at making you feel guilty. Just remember this isn't anything personal against your manager or your DM or anyone else. You aren't doing anything TO anyone, you are doing something FOR yourself. I have been there, done that and you just have to put yourself first. And don't be surprised if your DM turns really vicious if you do decide to quit. That seems to happen frequently.

The kids go to school through noon next Thursday. I still have a few days repreive before I have all 5.

TS Barry is here. We are getting poured on. Of course I had tonight off so it was grocery shopping/errand night. I was soaked by the time I got home. I had a $10 coupon for JcPenneys and they had mens and boys underwear on sale for buy one/get one 1/2 off. I thought is was a good deal. Then I came home and picked up the mail. My kohls flyer has a 30% off coupon and underwear is 25 -30% off. Now I think I may return most of what I bought and buy through Kohls. I wrote down everything and I'll try to get to Kohls tomorrow night to check out there prices. I decided to buy all new underwear for the trip. Colby is outgrowing his and we all needed new socks anyway. I'm sure that the boys have some that we can get rid of.

As I was picking things up I realized that I'm lucky to get to any store once a week. That means with less than 7 weeks left, I have potentially 6 trips to the stores before we leave :rotfl: Isn't it truly amazing what I can think of. :lmao:

Kaelyn doesn't get out until the 14th. Today was Stephanie's last day and preschool graduation is tomorrow night.

Congrats to Stephanie!:cool1:

Well, the TX legislature is starting to catch on. Public schools are not allowed to start before the 4th Monday in August, effective this year. Some of the districts (not ours) used to start the first week of August, but they got a week off in October. I would KILL for a week off in October to go to WDW! But NO, I got a nasty letter from the truancy board for taking DS to WDW in October.:sad2: Anyway, those districts can't do that anymore.

Deb, sorry about the rain! I have managed to work most of my errands around the torrential downpours, but I can sympathize. So we're supposed to count down to our trips based on how many grocery store runs we have left? I am at the grocery for us or my bosses at least twice a week, so mine won't be as impressive as yours. And you leave sooner anyway!:rotfl2:

we Coloradoans have the best of both worlds....we get out before Memorial day and don't go back until almost Labor Day.

I forgot to mention the glass of wine I have beside me too....

Lindsay - I thought of you today. Older DD Kathrin is mentoring one of her company's interns this summer. She has a lot of events to attend and she was extolling the work their event planner was doing on them. :)
