Well you can just send that rain down here.
We will welcome it gladly.
It is so dry here.
I think 1/2 the state is burning.

We need the rain here as well. It really hasn't rained much in awhile. It just happens that it is pouring like an hour-2 at a time around 6pm. It did so last Sunday, this Saturday, and this Sunday, but not at all in between. It very much reminded me of Florida weather with the short spurt of pouring rain and thunderstorm and then finished. :wizard: :wizard: for everyone who needs rain, that they get some soon.

Hello, Chris! Glad you could stop in!:)

Becky - I would LOVE to get rid of the rain! The mosquitos are already THICK. And it has rained straight through any days where we would have had moderate temps - now we will go directly to broiling. If it ever quits raining! DS is already bored because he stayed in all weekend. It is supposed to rain until at least Friday. It is going to be a very long week.:upsidedow

Good night, Chris!

So I was reviewing that note from Momboss about the overnights. (You bet your bippy I kept it.) There is a HUGE discrepancy in when they are coming back. The first paragraph says they aren't coming back until Thursday and I need to stay overnight for 3 nights. The next paragraph says they are coming home on Wednesday and they will pick the kids up from camp themselves that day. I think 3 nights is really pushing it. Dadboss had mentioned having a grandfather there to help out, so I might try to convince them to just let me come in and put the kids to bed and then stop back by in the morning to do Sister's hair and whatever before I go to work. When I put the kids to bed they stay there, so Grandpa wouldn't have any problems with them getting up. Hmm. I need to talk to Dadboss and get the EXACT dates and flight times and then I will talk to them about the alternatives. I don't want to be at work (in one house or the other) from Monday morning straight through to Thursday evening. That is asking too much.

Yes I'm a proud Mom!!

You have every reason to be proud! thanks for sharing the picture with us!

We had a nice BBQ. Lots of food and no rain, what more could we ask for? We also got all of the air conditioners put in though I hope we won't have to use them much as the electric bill will be :scared1: Chris also diagnosed why the 4 wheeler doesn't have breaks so I can pick up parts tomorrow while I'm out having Colby's feet looked at. I also picked up some solar walkway lights. We put those out and replaced our American Flag. The boys did a nice little flag ceremony and we remembered those that we had lost. When I was looking at the solar lights I found ONE of a little yellow lab holding a lantern. It resembles Tuffy so I had to buy it to put on the dog's grave. Nick was happy. I also picked up a few things for our trip and lots of odds and ends that we needed. While it doesn't seem that I was too busy I guess that we got a lot accomplished anyway.

By the way I highly recommend placing a can of diced potatoes on aluminum foil and add butter and garlic powder. Close it up into a tight packet (I usually double up the foil for safety). Cook that on the grill while your cooking your meat (it may take a bit longer then the meat). They were soooo yummy.
As of tomorrow I HAVE to go back on my diet. I need to lose 12 lbs in 54 days so I'd better get my butt in gear, literally :lmao:

my mom does this but has onions and green peppers to it. So yummy and so easy. You can cook the potatoes a little bit before putting it on the grill...which we couldn't do...Jim couldn't get the grill to work. :headache:

Sounds like a good day.

Mmmm. Ice cream.:) I had a piece of pie earlier, but ice cream sounds really good.

I think you will have fun next weekend. Of course it wil be sad, but you will be remembering your friend and your brother will be riding for a good cause.

Chris hasn't gone to bed yet. He's watching TLC. First there was a show about Gastro Bypass and now it's about a couple with 16 kids going on a family vacation. Can you imagine?

Colby was pretty good today. He didn't complain and was able to put his sneakers on to play outside. We did pin him down before bed and I was able to remove 7 more splinters. He is being great about it, better than I would have been. Tomorrow I'll take him for a wound check. There is one splinter that is too deep for me to dig out so I'll be sure to ask about that on. I think I've got all of the splinters out of his heels and the sides of his feet. I think I only have one more toe to work on. The rest are in the balls of his feet and there are many still there. Thanks for asking.

Hope the wound check goes okay--colby is being much better about this than i would be!

Deb- I got a bunch of splinters in my leg from a traveling circus...the last one (and biggest ) finally came out 3 years later. I so feel for your little guy. I am glad he is being a trooper.

Pearl has become queen of the house...and we have what looks like a stray calico outside our back door trying to come in....it's amazing how fast the word gets out that there's a new kitty in town. Pearl has made it clear this is her territory. :rotfl2:
