Good Morning DDA!

I have the morning and afternoon to myself also!

DW and Leighanna are going to a graduation today, and since I work tonight, I couldn't go.:sad1:

The house is nice and quiet, and I have been doing some planning for our vacation, so I am having a nice morning so far.

I do need to get the lawn mowed. If I wait until Tuesday, I will need a hay baler. Last night's rain sure perked everything up!

Tammi, I will get my DVD out to you on Tuesday!

Debbi, your DGS face is just priceless! I am sure he will laugh about it in the future!

Have a great day all!

Deb - You were all very busy yesterday! Good for you to get all that done. On my agenda today is to make a list of the clothes I will need for my July trip. I realized that with the Music Camp and vacation put together I will be gone for 12 days. And I won't have any laundry facilities. This ought to be interesting!

Is it that you won't have laundry facilities or you won't have time to do the laundry??

My suggestion is to buy or take stuff that you can hand wash and is quick dry, so you can just hang it up to dry in your room. Stuff made of polyester, nylon, rayon, bamboo, soy. The less cotton it has the better because cotton takes a long time to dry. Also stuff that doesn't wrinkle easily. You can hand wash it at night and hang it up to dry for the next day or for future use.

Wow my neice jumped off their couch and one time she landed wrong and hit her face on the coffee table. It looked like she was in a brawl for weeks. My sister had to keep explaining to people.

Katie fell off the top bunk bed when she was 6 years old. She landed right on her face! For at least a week she had 2 black eyes, a swollen nose and lips. Not to mention bruises galore! I had to go in to the school and explain what happened to the principal, the secretaries, the lunch ladies and her teacher. It was so horrible! It's so sad that we have to explain so we don't get the police called on us.

Glynis, Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm really serious in my question. How do you clean a headstone?? My girlfriend and her husband have the type of marker that is flat on the ground. I haven't visited their graves in many years as they aren't there, they are in my heart, but I would like to clean their markers, but I have no idea how. Also, do you leave cut flowers or the plastic ones?

Sunday would have been his birthday. We always celebrated his birthday and my DD's birthdays together (they are the same day, Sunday is my DD's birthday) We would have a cookout and 2 cakes. My DD's would be Strawberry Shortcake or whatever else that was current for the 1980's and his would usually be Garfield the cat. :cloud9:

Their son is the one who is taking me to Disney in December. I am the "paternal" grandma. At their wedding I was the "Mother of the Groom" Their son's picture is on the door in my office along with my other grandchildren.

I have to drive right past the cemetary on my way to the bakery to pick up my DD's cake this morning. If I had a clue what to do, I could stop and clean the markers, pick up the cake, drop it off and then go to the hairdresser. The hairdresser is close to the hospice center, and I will stop there and see one of my dearest friends. Then I'll be off to my DD's father-in-law's for a barbeque. It's his birthday too.

I'm going to hop in the shower and try to relax and get some sleep.

I'll have to post a picture of my DD's cake. It has a tiara and a wand on it. She's still my little Princess...princess: princess: princess: princess:

It really all depends on the water that is used at the cemetery. If it's hard water, like ours, we use Lime-Away, and a steel brush. It helps a lot. You can't scrub too hard, or you can damage the stone. We also take some Soft Scrub to polish up. First of all, we do a generic wash with just soapy water to get rid of bird stuff, then, if it needs more cleaning, you just go from there. It's a lot harder to clean older headstones. Some of the ones we clean are about 100 years old, and you really can't scrub them too hard. The stone is just wearing away too much.

We take real flowers. I like the look of them better, and our cemetery leaves them up for a few days, and then donates them to a hospital nearby.

Good luck! We love Memorial day, as we get to tell family stories, and celebrate our loved ones who have passed.

Good morning all. I have been reading along but just didn't take notes. Too tired. :flower3: I'm sending out 's and :wizard: to everyone in need.

My house looks like a bomb went off inside. Eric has been busy putting together all the new furniture we bought yesterday, 2 beds, 4 dressers, a night stand and an end table. So all of Emma and Molly's clothes are strewn about needing to get put away, not to mention all the empty boxes and such. I was hoping to have it done by this morning but am now aiming for next year. :rotfl: One of these days I will feel like I actually live here and am not constantly moving/rearranging things.

I've also managed to get completely caught up on laundry which is unbelievable. Of course none of those clothes are put away either. I was up at 4:30 this morning and had nothing better to do. I also made 2 batches of rice krispie treats for later today. I am hoping once I get to my aunt's house I can just relax!!

I hope everyone has a great day. It is hot and humid here but the sun is shining so I can't complain too much! Talk to you all later!

Robyn - Good luck restoring order! Would it make you feel better to know that all the stuff I took off my desk several weeks ago is still piled in a box in the middle of my dining room? And all of the laundry we have managed to do in the past week or so is thrown on top of my table in a wrinkly heap? And I am sitting here DISing instead of trying to fix any of it?:rolleyes1 DS helped me tidy the living room, but that's as far as we've gotten. The living room is still dusty, but the clutter is picked up. I do have a load of towels in the wash because the cats spilled water on the bathroom floor and I had to wipe it up. Figured I would wash the towels after that. DH said he is going to box up the old computer and take it to storage today, so that will be one less thing to trip over.

So who has seen POTC3?

Alan and I saw it last night! I loved it!!! I can't wait to see it again! I am glad that I watched the first 2 before I saw this one. I was so happy to see Barbossa back!!! He was wonderful!

Thanks, Glynis. I've heard so many bad reviews. Maybe I will have Bob take me tonight since we are both kid-free!

It's definitely more of an adult movie. It's a bit confusing at times, but if you pay close attention, you should be just fine! Let me know what you think about the ending, and I'll tell you what I found out from IMDB.com. They had some interesting stuff from the writers there! Made a ton of sense!

And I'll just say this: I'm a Capt. Jack fan, no doubt about it, but after this movie, I just have to say that Will Turner turns out to give him a run for his money on the hottie factor!!!

Oh, I forgot to say this:

to anyone going to see POTC3:

STAY TO THE END OF THE CREDITS!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!! DON'T LEAVE BEFORE THEN!!!!!

Ok, I'm off to church now! I won't be back for a while, as we're heading to cemeteries after church. Talk to y'all later!!!

Prayers and pixie dust needed, Please!

I know the power of the DDA and just wanted to post this quickly before I leave.

The property supervisor of my Mom's complex found her laying on the floor of her apartment. Her gentleman friend had tried to call her for two days and got no answer. He called the supervisor and she found her there.

From the little news that I have so far, she was very disoriented, but conscious. They have rushed her to the hospital via ambulance, so I am on my way!

I will let you know what is going on when I find anything out!

Again, thanks!

I saw it and enjoyed it. Make sure you go to the bathroom beforehand - and don't drink any pop during the movie! I was dying waiting for the credits to finish. :rolleyes1 It's definately confusing at points - I kept getting the ships mixed up - but it was better than Spiderman 3. :teeth: (PS: Save your movie stubs for the Disney Movie Rewards site!! 50 points per stub!)

Found this on the CB. Has been verified: http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/sanitizer.asp

I know we all use this in our classrooms on a daily basis, and I just wanted to encourage everyone to be sure and monitor the children with it. I honestly never even thought of this being an issue....scary! OK. I don't know where to begin because the last 2 days of my life have been such a blur. Yesterday, My youngest daughter Halley who is 4, was rushed to the emergency room by her father for being severely lethargic and incoherent. He was called to her school by the school secretary for being "very VERY sick." He told me that when he arrived that Halley was barely sitting in the chair. She couldn't hold her own head up and when he looked into her eyes, she couldn't focus them. He immediately called me after he scooped her up and rushed her to the ER. When we got there, they ran blood test after blood test and did x-rays, every test imaginable. Her white blood cell count was normal, nothing was out of the ordinary. The ER doctor told us that he had done everything that he could do so he was sending her to Saint Francis for further test. Right when we were leaving in the ambulance, her teacher had come to the ER and after questioning Halley's classmates, we found out that she had licked hand sanitizer off her hand. Hand sanitizer, of all things. But it makes sense. These days they have all kinds of different scents and when you have a curious child, they are going to put all kinds of things in their mouths. When we arrived at Saint Francis, we told the ER doctor there to check her blood alcohol level, which, yes we did get weird looks from it but they did it. The results were her blood alcohol level was 85% and this was 6 hours after we first took her. There's no telling what it would have been if we would have tested it at the first ER. Since then, her school and a few surrounding schools have taken this out of the classrooms of all the lower grade classes but what's to stop middle and high schoolers too? After doing research off the Internet, we have found out that it only takes 3 squirts of the stuff to be fatal in a toddler. For her blood alcohol level to be so high was to compare someone her size to drinking something 120 proof. So please PLEASE don't disregard this because I don't ever want anyone to go thru what my family and I have gone thru. Today was a little better but not much. Please send this to everyone you know that has children or are having children. It doesn't matter what age. I just want people to know the dangers of this.
