Thanks I'll check the site out. Because of his Autism Spectrum Disorder on a bad day trying to make him do work makes me feel like a trip to the loony bin.:upsidedow But I need to get him caught up since the last few months before we got his medicine dose figured out he fell behind.

My DS has inattentive ADD, so I can relate to the struggle for diagnosis and proper meds. The teachers noticed in 3rd grade that he just couldn't pay attention long enough to understand the concepts, but it was the second semester of 4th grade before we had a diagnosis and the first 2 meds we tried were useless. Finally about 8 weeks into 5th grade we found a med that works and he had a GREAT year. Hopefully you will be able to get things fine tuned and he will be right back on track in the Fall.:)

Thanks! We are lucky to have his diagnostician in the same office with the pediatrician so his care is coordinated pretty well. I think the only adjustment we might have to make for the new school year is a small increase in dosage to compensate for any growing he does over the summer. I HOPE he grows over the summer, because he is about the size of a third grader!

It is good that you have the summer to get Zack's meds worked out. I am sure you will find just the right combination of meds and other therapy to get him where he needs to be!:thumbsup2

I am going to try to get some sleep! Of course DH will be getting up to go to work in about an hour and he will probably wake me up, but we'll see how it goes.

Good night!

Sounds like a wonderful day!

I took my kids to my grandparents old home a couple of years ago. I was so excited to show them the house, the orchard, the barn, etc. Imagine my distress to find out the house had been torn down, and a fast food place put up there. It was so sad!

Alan and I will be taking the kids to put flowers on his dad's headstone tomorrow. We'll also take some time to clean that headstone, and his grandparent's headstones. Then to another cemetery to put flowers on my aunt's headstone. We like to take the time to make things look nice, and tell the kids stories about their relatives. When I was small, Memorial Day was a huge thing in our small town. People would pack picnic lunches and spend the day at the cemetery, cleaning, polishing, and remembering. We're trying to do the same with our kids.

Glynis, Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm really serious in my question. How do you clean a headstone?? My girlfriend and her husband have the type of marker that is flat on the ground. I haven't visited their graves in many years as they aren't there, they are in my heart, but I would like to clean their markers, but I have no idea how. Also, do you leave cut flowers or the plastic ones?

Sunday would have been his birthday. We always celebrated his birthday and my DD's birthdays together (they are the same day, Sunday is my DD's birthday) We would have a cookout and 2 cakes. My DD's would be Strawberry Shortcake or whatever else that was current for the 1980's and his would usually be Garfield the cat. :cloud9:

Their son is the one who is taking me to Disney in December. I am the "paternal" grandma. At their wedding I was the "Mother of the Groom" Their son's picture is on the door in my office along with my other grandchildren.

I have to drive right past the cemetary on my way to the bakery to pick up my DD's cake this morning. If I had a clue what to do, I could stop and clean the markers, pick up the cake, drop it off and then go to the hairdresser. The hairdresser is close to the hospice center, and I will stop there and see one of my dearest friends. Then I'll be off to my DD's father-in-law's for a barbeque. It's his birthday too.

I'm going to hop in the shower and try to relax and get some sleep.

I'll have to post a picture of my DD's cake. It has a tiara and a wand on it. She's still my little Princess...princess: princess: princess: princess:

Deb - You were all very busy yesterday! Good for you to get all that done. On my agenda today is to make a list of the clothes I will need for my July trip. I realized that with the Music Camp and vacation put together I will be gone for 12 days. And I won't have any laundry facilities. This ought to be interesting!

Steffy - you have a busy day ahead of you. I hope you got enough sleep! :)

Good Morning DDA,

Jen - thank you for the post card. Hang in there with the job hunt, I'm sure the perfect position is out there waiting for you.

Deb - I need to take organization lessons from you, the new hair do looks great.

Elizabeth - Congrats to DS on a Banner year, hope the contract gets settled soon.

Vicki - Congrats to your graduate, great job.

Steffy - my Mom's grave marker is also one that sits flat on the ground. Baby wipes work wonderful in cleaning it.

Tom - Love the new signature

Theresa - Sounds like you are almost settled in, Congrats on that, and I hope you find a pet for Abi soon, as she was very persuasive in her letter.

We kept DGS Friday night and took him to see Pirates yesterday, it is a very long movie, we were in the theatre for more that 3 hours. When we took him to WDW when he was three he rode Splash Mountain, it really scared him. Well yesterday he told me exactly why it scared him. He said that when you went up through the dark cave, and then you came out to where you could get some air, they threw you into the BIG stickers. I was amazed that his memory of it was still so clear, (guess he really was frightened) and I was also surprised that he said he wasn't scared any more and that he wanted to ride it again. Here's the picture of that first ride, I told my daughter that the look on his face was evidence of child abuse.

Good morning! I hope you all are doing well. I have only been on the DIS long enough to check PMs that last few days, so please let me know if I missed anything important. I will try and spend more time catching up while Kyle is on call. Have a good day! :goodvibes

Good morning!

Christi, good to hear from you!

Stephanie, Happy Birthday to your DD!

Jen I hope your ankle feels better this morning. Glad you had a good time at the party.

Have a great day all :)

Good Morning DDA,

Steffy - my Mom's grave marker is also one that sits flat on the ground. Baby wipes work wonderful in cleaning it.

Terrific Debbie! Thanks so much. I packed a small broom and now I'll toss in a pack of wipes and be on my way! I'll see how the others are dressed and pick up the flowers across the street from the bakery.:hippie: :hippie: :hippie: :hippie:

Have a good holiday DDA!!!

Good morning.

Steffy - happy birthday to your DD. I hope the party is a lot of fun and can help you take your mind off things for awhile. BTW, love your new ticker. ;)

Debbie - I like how your SIL (I think that's who that is) is holding his nose.

I finally have a day where I don't have to do anything. I have lots that could be done, like go shopping for a few things that I would like to get, but if I don't feel like it, I don't HAVE to go. A day all to myself!!!

Good morning, DDA!

It is pouring rain here. The extended forecast shows rain like this until FRIDAY!:scared: I will be climbing the walls by Friday after being stuck inside with the kids all week. Well, tomorrow I am off and Tuesday we have plans, so I better come up with plans for Wed & Thur pretty soon!

Debbie - Now I am sure I don't want to ride Splash!:rotfl2:

Tammi - Enjoy your day!

Stephanie - I hope you get all of your errnds done and that the B-day festivities are a lot of fun!!:yay:

Jennifer - Jump back in when you can!:)

Janet & Elin - Hope you have a relaxing day!
