I did that last year for Father's day, except it was at Penneys. FD was a few weeks after he walked out and I hated spending $ on him, but I had to let the kids get a present. So I pointed out the clearance racks and said pick anything you want!

Ah, yes... but Roses is not even close to the league that Penneys is in! :rotfl: I bet they have their flannel shirts on sale now and there might be a tie or two that they could find.

After 4 hours on the phone with Cox, Cox Security Suite and Linksys I think we have our internet issures resolved. I think....

DH took Arabella to the vet today because we thought she felt warm. She also doesn't really drink her water very well so we needed to make sure she wasn't getting dehydrated. The vet said she is fine. I am just so paranoid about her getting sick that we will probably take her in once a week for the next few months.:rotfl: Our pet sitter said we could give her some broth mixed with water, or even pour it on her dry food. That worked pretty well. Hopefully she will get the hang of drinking plain water out of a bowl soon!

Our Vet recommended a pet water fountain for our cat. He never drank enough water until we bought that thing. Now he will lay with it, someday he may fall asleep and drown :lmao: . Give it a try. Cats love running water

Bernadette I love the trip report. Keep it coming.

Hello Paula, long time no hear.

Tom The play area looks great.

I am almost done with dinner so it is time to head to bed. My Spring Recitals start tomorrow morning at 10:00 and run sporadically from then until June 4. I will be a tired puppy when this couple of weeks is over.

Good night, friends! :wave2:

I don't have my DSL hooked up..but I do have internet and the desk set up so you all have me again!!!:rotfl2:

We tried going to our traditional girl's birthday dinner restaurant....didn't realize until we got there....it's closed on Mondays:eek: . So we went to Ruby Tuesdays and have a rainstorm going right now.

Hi, all!

Well, I survived my first day of summer interns. If my math is correct, only 64 more working days to go. I can't decide if that is encouraging or depressing! :upsidedow Thus far, it doesn't seem like a bad group, although that can always change!

Tom - what a great play area for Leighanna, and I absolutely love your landscaping. So fresh and springy! I do not have a green thumb in the least, but fortunately, DH seems to. He filled up our planters on our back porch last week, and I think we'll have color in the front beds this week.

Elizabeth - so glad that the new kitty seems to be doing well, although I feel your pain of those first few days with an unpredictable small animal in the house. I still remember (and not altogether fondly) my dog's days as a puppy! I'm glad to hear that Amanda is also finally home with you. Good luck on the continued job search - sounds promising!

Tammi - the commentary on the MD/FD gifts made me smile today. I will let you know if I come across anything particularly atrocious! ;)

Elin - glad to hear that your computer problems got resolved. I would hate to count up the # of hours I've spent on the phone with Linksys in the last couple of years. We have gotten to the point that if a storm is at all threatening that we will disconnect power to all those electronics - a lesson learned the hard way, unfortunately. Good luck on the next few weeks, and I'm glad your family helped you through Mother's Day!

Jen - are you enjoying these days of leisure?! I'm so jealous of your 3 sleeps! How cool of your parents to get you your park tickets and Disney Dollars! Your grad photos were great! Congrats again!

Deb - good luck with your "to do" list! You always seem to get it done! :thumbsup2

Anne Marie - what a great Mother's Day gift for you, but sorry to hear that your walk on the beach didn't happen. Loved your countdown calendar! I've been toying with the idea of doing that for my nieces/nephews for our Dec. trip, or doing a paper chain. Our HD normally has plenty of all colors, thankfully (although admittedly a bit low on lime green, it seems)! I wonder how many times I'd have to go, though, to collect enough for 2 countdowns without raising suspiscion!

Jo - what great work on your side yard! Your patience and perseverance on home improvement projects is an inspiration - I wish you could bottle it and send me some!

Becky - hang in there - your time on the Magic will be here before you know it!

Paula - good to see you! I'm with Tammi - it took me a minute to register the girls' grown up names! Many :wizard: to Bethie, and congrats to Gabrielle! Also, good luck to you as you finish your courses, and put up with Mark's work! :wizard:

Glynis - glad to hear you had a good Mother's Day! DL is almost here for you! :thumbsup2

Jennifer - glad to hear you had a wonderful trip, but sorry to hear that RL is crashing down again. How did you guys like BCV?

Bernadette - I'm really enjoying your trip report, and thanks for taking the time to do it and post your great pics! I love the F&G Fest - I really wish I could be there this year to see all the Pirate & Princess stuff - Peter Pan is my favorite movie! :goodvibes

Well, I'm going to say goodnight, so I can start day 2 tomorrow. Yee haw!

yay..did u miss us ;)

not as much as I could have since I could cheat and read you at work:rotfl2:

Though I did miss coming on this weekend....you all could have kept me sane...my IL's came, which would have been great except they brought my spoiled rotten nephew. He tried his darnedest to spoil the weekend and nearly succeeded a couple of times.

Hope the girls had a great b-day, Theresa! How was Jim's party?

It was fun and a lot of work....we have a TON of food left....the equivalent of one Costco cake (yellow and carrot) and a bunch of mexican. We made Jimmy hit the pinata with a cane....I am such a goober. :rotfl2:

Abi is such worrier...she nearly made herself sick yesterday and today because of a missing piece of music. Both girls seemed to enjoy their day and we will go to the 16th St. mall Saturday with a couple of friends for supper and bowling or movie.

Watching the news...the storms overflowed banks fast and they are now looking for a toddler that was seperated from his mom and they can't find him. :sad1:

LOVING my days off ! Today i ran some errands, then stayed by the pool for a few hours, and went to watch my brother's softball game..i love this!

thanks :goodvibes:

Update on Aidan... prayers at 10:30 a.m. please...

Surgery is Scheduled for 10:30am on Tuesday.

His lungs are damaged due to the ventilator and such, but this will not put a hold on the surgery. Over time they say his lungs will produce good tissue that will compensate for the damage caused by the machines.

Thanks for all the compliments. I had lots of fun taking photos. I took about 1,650 and these are just the best. When I go for 11 days in August I'll probably only take about 600.

Bernadette, your pictures are fantastic!

What kind of camera do you have!
I have a Sony DSC-H5 but they just came out with a H9 that I really want.;) The H5 is very simular to the H2 which is very reasonably priced. It has image stabilization-to get those hand held night time shots, has a 12 times optical zoom and is SO much better at focusing than my old Sony. My old camera was great for "standard" shots but not so great at macro or night time shots. It was nice that it fit in my pocket but this new camera never felt too heavy so I'm very pleased with it.

I'm loving all of your pictures. I have decided that I just must not have a steady hand. No matter what I do, they never come out as crisp as all the photos everyone posts here.
You need a camera that has image stablization. I wasn't getting these shots with my old camera.

Well, I finally got Nicholas riding a two-wheeler tonight. He is doing good on the riding, it's just getting started and turning around that he still needs help with, but at least he is balancing. The rest will come with practice. Now I guess I have to follow through and keep my promise to get him a new bike. The one he has is a bit too small and I told him once he learned how to ride I would get him a new one. Guess what we will be doing this weekend.
:woohoo: :woohoo: Congrats to Nicholas!!!

Thanks for the update. He will be in my prayers this morning.

I've got to get to work. I've got my check up at 1:30 today. :scared1: I'll post more TR tonight.

I'm in the bittersweet camp with some of the others for whom Mother's Day is a hard day. So I decided we needed some levity!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I think I'm giving my Dad the prize for the most original Mother's Day gift. He took his wife to go see Rod Stewart. Yes, my 90+ year old Dad was at a rock concert. They spent the night at the casino, rested awhile, dined, napped and watched the concert.

They really like Rod Stewart, and said the concert was nice. For some reason, this just makes me smile. :hippie:  :) :cool1:

Now, how does this not surprise me? I would say the apple doesn't fall far from that tree!

Good morning, DDA!

Arabella was pretty good last night. She has been drinking her broth (mixed with water) and now she is tormenting Aurora. Tuesday is the day nobody is home from 8 AM until about 2 PM, so I am afraid she will be kind of bored. I will put some extra toys in the bathroom for her.

Tom - I do remember the kitty watch now that you mention it!:rotfl2:

Deb - We will have to look into the fountain. That is a good idea!

Jen - Glad you are enjoying your days off! YAY Disney!

Elin - I hope the recitals go well!

Theresa - Belated Happy Birthdays! Glad you are getting settled in your new home!

Have a great day, everyone! Off to pack DS's lunch!

I had that with my Panasonic, but it was so big and bulky, so I went to the Canon. I guess everything is a trade-off. :confused3
