Gloomy here today....

Have to run to Target....

Have a great day!!!!!:flower3:

My AP expires on the 18th and I have to decide if I want to renew or not.

What to do, what to do??? :confused3 :confused3

DS has a math project. He has to come up with a single event that will cost $1 million. He decided to do a private party with major league baseball players doing meet & greets. So far it is only costing $200K. I have a hotel e-mailing me some pricing info about meeting space and catering. I hope it is REALLY expensive!:rotfl2:

I think we may have to add in something like flying to WDW for the Tampa Bay vs. TX Rangers game because it is just not adding up like I hoped it would! Last time he had a million $ project he just had to show how he would spend it, and he could only buy one house, one car, etc. This time the whole million has to be poured into a single thing. Unfortunately the example is a WDW trip, so we couldn't do that.:guilty: It had a group of 25 people going, but the "hostess" bought complete wardrobes for everyone and all sorts of stuff.

Sorry to pop in with a vent but I am so frustrated with the Dr.s and this whole thing with Molly. I called the # on our discharge papers as I had yet to hear from them regarding the biopsy results. The lady there informs me that I was to call the hospital for the results myself. Well, that's not what we were told. She gives me the number, which if I was to call I would have had to been psychic as the # is nowhere on our paperwork. I call and have to leave a message with the promise of a return call in 48hrs. Well that then puts us at Monday, 2 weeks from the test. I refuse to wait that long considering it took me about 1 1/2 weeks to get the test scheduled. So I call the office where we 1st went for our initial appt and they tell me to call her DC office directly to leave the Dr. a message. Of course, this is the 1st number I called this morning. So I call back hoping to just leave the Dr. a message but no I get the woman I spoke to earlier and tell her I want to leave a message. So she starts taking the message and then realizes she's talked to me earlier and starts getting a little nasty that I am calling back now. "Did you leave a message for Shirley", "You need to wait til she calls back" "You were told the wrong info at the hospital" and my fave "Well, ma'am, we have lots of other patients too". I am close to tears and basically hang up after I tell her that I am sorry to have bothered her. Needless to say, "Shirley" calls me back not 2 minutes after that phone call and gives me the results. Molly's biopsy came back normal. Ok, great, now what? Well if the Dr. wanted to do more tests she would have contacted you. So I feel no better right now than I did before I got her results. I'm glad there is nothing wrong with her tummy but I have not imagined the past 3 years. And on top of everything Molly's regular pediatrician is on short term medical leave and won't be back til the end of May. I have no idea where to go from here. :confused3

:dancer: :jumping1: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I agree with Elizabeth - I think Texas has become the rain capital of the nation!

Good morning! Guess what? More rain in our forecast! In fact, I drove through a shower on my way to work.

Have a great day, DDA!:)

Yep - me, too. I normally don't mind rain, but I am really tired of all that it is doing to my commute!

Hope you have a good day, Marci - been meaning to ask you, did you see the info. on the GF refurb? Won't you be staying there for a few nights this summer? Unless you're in RPC, maybe you'll get a new room! :thumbsup2

Elizabeth I read on another thread that the Pirate crocs are available at Nordstroms. We do not have one, but if you do & you check them out let me know how they fit!

oooo - Pirate Crocs? Are there pics anywhere?

My AP expires on the 18th and I have to decide if I want to renew or not.

What to do, what to do??? :confused3 :confused3

The 18th of this month? If so, I'd probably wait and just get another AP when you go in October. I don't know that the renewal savings would be enough to offset it sitting dormant for 5 months (or will it? ;) )

I'm fairly confident I could help him spend a million bucks! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm shocked that the players' appearance fees wouldn't be more than that alone. What about renting out one of the famous baseball stadiums for the day for this to take place in? Free food for everyone? Some sort of big giveaways, like cars, lifetime season tickets, baseball memorabilia, etc.? Maybe it's a charity event, so at the end he could donate the remaining funds to a charity? Are there any ex-baseball players that are now motivational speakers that could come speak - those fees are normally exorbitant! Custom jerseys and hats for all in attendance - the list could go on and on...

Oh, Robin, I'm so sorry. How incredibly frustrating! I wish I had better advice for you than to just keep following your gut, and being Molly's best advocate. Hugs, prayers, and PD to all of you.  :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Oh, Robyn! I'm so sorry you are going through all this!

Does your regular pediatrician have a service number that you can call? I know that I have to do that when our pediatrician goes on vacation. I call his service, and he will get back to me. I'm pretty lucky, though, because our pediatrician lives in our neighborhood, so he pretty much HAS to call back. If your pediatrician can't help you, then maybe there's another dr. in his office that could?

Most importantly, though, you need to just take some deep breaths, and calm yourself down. Take a nap today, and just de-stress. Read a book, take a bath, etc.

 to you!

Thought this was interesting info. this a.m. - deluxe and DVC resorts to be improving linens and towels! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1448529

crud. We'll miss the upgrade by a few months.

See the pirate crocs at www.crocs.com but they are still listed as "coming soon". Not sure how someone bought them at Nordstrom if Crocs doesn't even have them yet, but I am still going to go look!;)

The player appearance fees are only $20K per player for the big name guys, the plain players are $5K. So far we are having a private event at the Westin Galleria, plated dinner, custom goody bags with ball, glove, hat, TX Ranger jersey, lots of baseball cards. A few bounce houses, custom table linens and floral centerpieces. We are spending the night at the Westin (100 rooms), taking Hummer limos to the airport, and flying to Orlando. We're going to the TX vs. Tampa game, spending the night at the Poly, and coming back home. My "shopping cart" for Dick's Sporting Goods was almost $45,000!:rotfl2: Oh, wait! This isn't my project, is it? Anyway, it is MUCH harder to spend $1 million than it looks. Last time there was a loophole where you could donate leftover money to charity, but this time there isn't.:confused3 And DS isn't sure when the project is due, so I figured I better do a little research for him and print it out or we'll be up all night! I am working tonight, too, so that's not even an option!

Speaking of work, I better scoot!:)

Robyn - I am so sorry Molly's test was inconclusive! That is so frustrating!:headache:

I just got off the phone with my cousin in Dallas and he said that weather has been really crazy. Stay dry and safe.

Thanks, Lindsay! :goodvibes

Thanks for the suggestions, Glynis. Our ped. is basically by herself in the practice. She has a Dr. that will cover her one day a week that is useless. She is there basically just to cover sick appts. When my girlfriend and I have seen her it's like talking to a wall. You can just tell she does not want to be there. She isn't proactive at all and I think there as a favor to the reg ped. She collects a paycheck and that seems like all. There is another Dr. that is covering right now but it's hard for her to have the full grasp of what we've been through w/ Molly. I know she can read the notes but I just don't feel that I will get what I want from her. I just feel like I am banging my head against the wall.

Who'd thought that $1 million is that hard to spend! Good luck!

Thanks, Elizabeth!

Glynis always has great advice so I am just adding some :grouphug: from my family to yours.

Lots of hugs to both you and Molly, Robyn.

And lots of pixie dust for no rain tomorrow, Jen!

Hey, Theresa! How are you feeling, now? Is the migraine gone? Are you in your own house, yet?

I just heard about the lockdown in Boulder. Is that affecting schools in Littleton?

She is there basically just to cover sick appts. When my girlfriend and I have seen her it's like talking to a wall. You can just tell she does not want to be there. Is there any way at all you could explain your frustration to the doctor that is filling in and try to get a number where you could call your pediatrician? I would think that he/she would want to be able to help Molly, given that he/she knows the full situation.

I know that you didn't have a good experience with the woman on the phone this morning, but could that doctor contact your pediatrician and give the results?

It's just so frustrating when your baby is hurting and there's nothing you can do about it. Being pregnant on top of it, doesn't help matters, does it?

Can you go back to the meds that Molly was taking before this test? At least it would be something until your pediatrician gets back.

Robyn - I'm so sorry you are going through all of this with the doctors. Everyone has such good advice. Is there any way to get a referral to a specialist, or what that who did the biopsy? I know it would seem like starting all over, but what about finding a new ped.?

Robyn is your pediatrician affiliated with a larger hospital? I know that all of our doctors work with local hospitals so there are teams available to cover situations such as this. Is she still having symptoms? If she is then you and Molly should not wait for the regular ped to come back. Now that you know that the tests found nothing abnormal I would take her to a walk in clinic or ER if you have no other option. Explain the situation, the tests and results and make it clear that you need to get her on meds NOW. ERs have access to all the specialists so someone there would have to help you. It is not fair to make a child suffer because the doctor is away

For anyone that wants to use the teacher appreciation idea that I posted yesterday I have a few tips. I went out today to get all of the supplies and was amazed that I could not find carefree gum, 100 Grand bars or dumdum lolipops :confused3 There were plenty of other things to fill the container so no big deal, but thought I'd save you the frustration of searching too many stores. Maybe you areas will be different.

Another one is Orbitz. You're out of this world.

I had the boys put the gifts together when they got home and they LOVED the idea. They called me a smart Mommy :rolleyes1 I didn't mention that I borrowed 1/2 the ideas from a thread here. It's not often that they think I'm smart. ;)

I'm off to work shortly. Have a nice evening.

 and :wizard: to those who could use some. I am still reading although it is speed reading.

We spent our second night last night. It's going to take a little getting used to....my migraine is gone, FINALLY!!

The school lockdown isn't affecting our kids that I know of but we've had enough lock downs of our own lately...I will be happy when school is out for the summer.:cutie:
