hope you hear from him soon

Thank you! He just called!:)

The Caller ID showed Frito Lay so I very nearly had a heart attack. His battery is dead in his phone, and he doesn't have a car charger. He was calling from the warehouse to say he is on his way home. He thought it was funny that I was worried.

Elin - the apartment looks wonderful! How fun that you got to help her move.

Bernadette - I know I probably missed you, but have a wonderful birthday trip!!!

Stephanie - Glad to see you made it home safely, and had a great time, too!

Debbie - One part of me says to take him to the party, and the other part says to keep him home. Only you guys really know how he'll do. I'd hate to miss out on the party though. It sounds like it would be really fun!

Elizabeth - Glad that Toad is out of the picture. Hope DS's rash clears up! No fun!!! I can't wait to see pictures of the new kitty!

Well, I'm all caught up, and it's time to start getting ready for Church. I'll be off and on for another hour or so, and then I'm out of here until 4:00 this afternoon. Maybe I'll go through together a coffee cake for our dessert tonight. Yumm!

DS is reading the cast roster for "Cats" to see if he can find a name for the new kitty. I wanted to name Aurora "Grizzabella", but since we didn't we don't have a "Cats" theme going. And none of the names really fit the new kitty.:confused3

This is Amanda.

In the city of Richmond there is a street called Monument Avenue. It is a 4-lane downtown avenue with a large median in the middle. In that median are statues to famous Virginians (those by birth or those by "adoption"). Her apartment is on a boulevard that intersects Monument Avenue and Stonewall Jackson's monument sits right outside her apartment!

It was a rainy day, so the pictures do not do it justice.

Oh what a nice place to live. Is she living by herself or does she have a roommate? Fill me in on how she came to get a new apt. please.

OMG I just realized I got a new tag :rotfl:
Congratulations. I hope the tag fairy ventures over to our thread sometime in the next century.

Welcome home. Sorry you didn't see
Exactly!!

Pretty kitties! How did you end up getting another cat?

Deb - I'm glad Nick enjoyed his first camping trip. Now that my trip is done I get to look forward to yours, Theresa's and Jen's.

Debbie - If it were me I think I would pass on the pirate party. For me, after a day of traveling, I like to do just a little bit upon arrival, get to bed early and then hit the parks running the next morning. Plus they always say never to book something on arrival night that can't be refunded in case of delays or missed flights (speaking from experience  ). Good luck deciding.

I have the 4th load of laundry going and just made the kids lie down for a nap. I think I will be joining them. Can you all hold on for a few more hours before I start in on the trip report and pictures?

Oh and thanks for all the welcome homes!

Tammi - We had to have Amanda put down on Tuesday. Her poor old body just wasn't able to make it any longer.:guilty: We are worried that Aurora is lonely now, so we decided to get a kitten to keep her company. The kitten is in a foster home right now, so we aren't exactly sure when we will get to bring her home. She isn't spayed yet, and they won't allow us to spay her at our vet's -they insist on doing it before we can take her.

We got home a little after 9 tonight. After getting the kids settled down and into bed I started unloading and unpacking. That is going to be a 3 day project I can tell. Then I uploaded my photos and looked at my photopass ones. I can't wait to share some of them with you, but it will have to wait a day or two. Tomorrow I am going to be busy and don't know if I will be around much.

Our trip was wonderful, except the part about missing our flight to MCO last Saturday. More on that in the next day or two. The weather was gorgeous, not a drop of rain, althought it did get pretty hot the last 4 days or so. We had such a good time and got everything accomplished that we wanted too, except I never did catch up with Stephanie. :guilty: :sad1: I'm sorry Stephanie!!! But on the upside, Jennifer spotted us today while we were strolling around Fantasyland. It was nice to meet her and Kyle and she is just like what I imagined her to be. :goodvibes

Since I need to be up at 6:30 tomorrow I will say good night and hopefully I will be able to catch up with you all soon. I've missed everyone!

Welcome home, Tammi! I'm glad to hear that, beyond the initial flight, you guys had a great time. No worries, we'll be here waiting for when you can do a recap. popcorn::

Deb, do you know those are pins? We have the Mickey & Donald ones. I wonder if you could find a picture of the Minnie pin that goes with the others? Although I think you did a great job on the Minnie you have!:thumbsup2

Good point, Elizabeth. Your comment reminds me that there is a very cute pin out there of Minnie as Elizabeth Swann in her pirate regalia. I'll see if I can't find a link to it.

I do love the original design, though, Deb. I woud have never know that was an improvised Minnie if you hadn't said anything! :thumbsup2

ETA: Well, that didn't take as long as I thought. I didn't rember that it had this background, but it's the Minnie I remember. I was very close to buying it for myself in March: http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=51327&sid=2295.1178476781

So I saw earlier that I was close to this so since I couldn't sleep....I waited for this:

:dance3: :dance3: 8,000:dance3: :dance3:

I couldn't have made it the last month without you all!!

This is the best bunch of women and men that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing....I hope to meet all of you in person some time in my life.

Thanks for bringing a smile to my face every day!!

Congrats on 8,000, Theresa, as well as the continued furniture purchases and moving in. We love ya, too!

Honeys, I'm home!!!! :dance3: :dance3:

Welcome home, too, Stephanie! I'm so glad to hear that, despite the park tickets fiasco, that you came away with great memories! Do you have some more Disney lovers on your hands now? :goodvibes

I loved your comment about the GV - I, too, can't wait to see my families' faces when we check into all our accomodations in December. :woohoo:

I have been trying to upload some pictures from Kathrin's new apartment. Photobucket keeps telling me they are "successfully uploaded" but there is a small part of the picture at the top and the rest is a gray mass. And when I try to resize them it doesn't appear to be working properly either! So, here is what I can get on here so far.

It looks lovely, Elin. Very colonial (which I adore)! :goodvibes

Well I need to finish my birthday cake, for the party.

We will be heading out about 11:30, talk with ya all tonight.

pixiedust: and:grouphug: to all.

Have a great birthday party, Heidi! I hope you enjoy yourself thoroughly!

Will we get to see pictures, since we all couldn't attend? ;) :flower3:

i need to ask for some MAJOR prayers. my attendants friends brother who is 12 went to the eye doctor on friday because he told his mom that he saw blood in his eyes. the eye doctor said to get to the ER immediately. come to find out he has a cancerous brain tumor and he is having major brain surgery tomorrow. the outcomes of the surgery are he'll be fine then do radiation/chemo, die, become paralyzed, or have mental challenges. so please pray that the surgery goes well and he will be okay. and if he does pass (which we are praying not) that his family will have comfort knowing he is with Christ. I will let you know his name later i didnt get that from my attendant earlier.

How horrible!:sad2: I hope the surgery is a success! Kids are so resilient - hopefully he will come through with flying colors!

We arrive on 9/03 with our DGS, he is a Pirate fan, and there is a P & P party that night. It is the last party and I'm afaid it will be really crowed and I'm also afraid we'll be kind of tired after traveling that day. It may be possible to sneak in a nap after we arrive but it's not a sure thing.

Do you think you would take him or not? I'm undecided about this one.

Debbie, here are my 2 cents. I somewhat doubt, even though it's the last party, that Monday night will be terribly crowded. The party we attended in early March on a Friday night was not crowded at all - the least attended party of any of the special events I've been to at WDW. Of course, I don't know if the summer crowds will beef up attendance at these parties, but it really wasn't highly attended in the early spring.

It's a great party. Lots of wonderful character interaction, fun tutorials and interactive things for small kids to do, and great parades and fireworks. If you think he could at all make it for at least a few hours, I'd attend in a heartbeat.
