Mmm, sounds good! I have chicken breast marinating in Lawry's Garlic & herb. Hopefully it will not rain & we can cook out tonight!

I have Glynis' lemon pork chops in the crockpot and now I'm off to read Jen's TR.

I have a small dilemma & would like your thoughts.

Garrett is not happy playing baseball this year. I am not sure if it is because he is in a different league or if he just doesn't care for it anymore. He says it is just not fun anymore. I told him he has to finish out this season & then he does not have to play anymore if he does not want to.

I am wondering if I am wrong telling him to stay. Should I let him quit or will I be giving him the wrong message? I don't want him to be unhappy, that will not help the team any, but then I don't want him to think it is ok to just quit in the middle of something.

What would you do? I think I already know what I am going to do, but I would like some thoughts or opinions.

I think i would have him finish out the season, then let him decide about next year---i was always told i made a committment and i had to stick it out

Hi, everyone! Sorry I didn't post much yesterday afternoon. Jacob stayed home from school with a fever yesterday. I was making him a Cup O Soup for lunch and spilled boiling water all over my dominant hand. Suffice it to say I'm pretty blistered, but it's not sore today!

 I hope you are OK, Glynis!

Just my opinion here, but I have to offer it often in my profession...

You did the right thing telling him he needs to finish out the year. He has an obligation to the team and he needs to fulfill it. Now, if he doesn't want to go back next year, I think it is time for him to have some input into the matter. The decision doesn't have to be made today, does it? Can't you tell him that you understand he is unhappy and if he still feels this way next season you wil honor his request to sit it out?

I was always told that once I committed, I couldn't quit. And that's what I tell my boys as well. I'm sure there are certain circumstances that would dictate a change in that opinion -- even in my eyes, but it would have to be something major. My boss was bad about letting her kids quit things -- now they don't finish commitments, whether it's sports, wanting to come home from camp etc. Also, Andrew's soccer team had several people quit during the season -- especially after it started getting hot and closer to the end of school. It made it so hard on the kids who stuck with the team becauses they had to play entire games without a break and sometimes didn't have enough to field a team.

Just my two cents -- you have to decide what is right for your family. Good luck with your decision! :)

No coupons found on the Photopass home page?? :-)

And I don't think you'll get more NV photos...most of them were flowers - and you've seen the collage of those - and then I included a photo of Bob without a baseball hat. So any more of those and he might yell at me! :rotfl:

Thank you all :goodvibes I guess I just needed reassurance that I was doing the right thing.

I do hope that he plays next year as it will be his last before high school. But I will leave that choice up to him. For now he will finish out this season(maybe he will get the good feeling back!).
