Welcome home, Jen!

I just went to buy gift cards for DS's teachers. Tomorrow is the last day of school and I realized I didn't have anything for them! They had their awards today. The video montage wasn't too long, but the photos weren't the best. DS wasn't even in it, except for in the class photo. I bought him a yearbook instead.

DS got a perfect score on the Science TAKS! We are so proud of him!! He also got commended performance in Math and Reading. His other awards were Outstanding Performance in Reading, Art, and Science, as well as a citizenship award that was voted on by his peers.:flower3:

Elizabeth congrats to your son. It sounds like he did an awesome job at school this year. :cheer2: for the citizenship award.

So the Uncovering the Evidence event went very well. There were 14 Cadettes and 12 Juniors who will be Bridging to Cadettes. They earned the whole interest project, plus the Cadettes did their service project and they talked about Cadettes. Crammed into an hour and a half, although the Cadettes were there for 2 hours, the Juniors were not and we did run late. The actual session should have been 2 hours or longer we did get stuff done but we could have spent more time on it. Which I knew ahead of time, but we did not want to have it go forever, considering several of the girls need to be at school at 6am as they are going to Washington DC on a class trip.

Hope everyone had a great day.:cool2:

So I had an interesting afternoon. When I was walking down the hallway after I put Sister's backpack away (I would make her put it away but she can't reach the hook) I saw something in the formal living room. There was a CREATURE on the brick wall where the fire place is. The question was bird or BAT? I was pretty sure it was a bird, but it was scary. I don't like birds. I called Dadboss, no answer. I called Momboss, unavailable (in a deposition), I called the pest control people, voice mail, I called DH, his phone was off because the battery was dead. So I called City Services and told them I needed Animal Control. The guy thought I was some sort of crank caller! He asked me if it was a squirrel or a possum. Um, no, you idiot! It is stuck to the bricks like somebody velcroed it up there, and it MIGHT be a bat! I finally gave up and just took the kids to Taekwondo. (Sister is SO proud of her plaque.:) ) When we got home it was still on the wall, but in a different position. OK, not dead then!

Momboss was 15 minutes late, which made me really nervous because I wasn't sure if she was even out of the deposition. So when she got home I was in a bit of a lather. I told her there is a creature on the wall and that City Services was no help. She went to look at it and said it's a bird, but she had no clue how to get it OUT. We decided it is Dadboss's problem.

That would freak me out!

And being the proud Maw Maw that I am I have to share this picture of our own Pre School Graduate,

Graduation.jpg

Too cute!!!

Ribyn, here's my idea for the girls shirts,

I LOVE it!!!

Here are a few pictures of Alyssa's recital from yesterday. Because she is in the 4/5 year old class, they do their recital in the studio. I just they have found with this age a lot of the kids get stage fright if they do it in an auditorium in the high school. This way they are where they are comfortable.
Beautiful pictures, as always!

Ok, I got them loaded up..

Here is Sophie (at rehearsal) doing her tap number. The theme of the recital this year was "colors".

Elizabeth congrats to your son. It sounds like he did an awesome job at school this year. :cheer2: for the citizenship award.

Thanks, Jennifer! He really did have a pretty great year. It has been hard for him with the ADD, but this year we finally found a med that truly helps him and it has made a huge difference.

I hope your tests come back soon and that everything is fine! Doesn't the baby know that you are past the deadline for feeling better? Time to feel good and enjoy the pregnancy!:cloud9:

okay I am headed to bed. very sleepy all of a sudden.

Sorry Elizabeth no clue on the sharpie.

Jen - I hope that you are having a great trip. I didn't get a chance to post it before I left, but I loved your graduation pictures. You look great!!
Thanks :goodvibes:

Good evening everyone! I see it has been another quiet day here. The graduation was wonderful, why does certain music always make you cry when you are trying not to :confused3 Here are a couple of pictures from after the ceremony.

Great pics and congrats to the graduate!!

Yes!! You look wonderful!!!!!!!

I COMPLETELY agree Janet..you look great!

I knew all along that I really wanted the job with the one little girl, and when they were able to meet my salary request I felt like that really shows a lot of dedication on their part. They want the very best for their beautiful DD and it was important enough that they found a way to make it work. The mom was shocked when I told her I had chosen them, but she was thrilled. I might not ever make top market salary, but hopefully I won't ever regret choosing to go with the family I wanted as opposed to the family that paid a lot.

Ive been following along trying to see who you picked !!! Im glad you are happy!

I also forgot to mention rental car for day before and the day after the cruise is booked, also the hotel room for day before and after is booked as well. Just need to book trip insurance and pay off the trip.   September cannot come soon enough.:thumbsup2

I gotta decide on excursions, Palo, etc as they can be booked June 10th and 17th. I know, the shame I do not already have them decided on.:rolleyes1

Would any of these work??:confused3 :confused3

sharpie.jpg

Yes, I imagine any one of those would have done a fine job!:rotfl2: It's a shame I don't have a good one to send with him so his friends can sign his T-shirt from Field Day. Which is in the dryer because he announced to me at 8:40 tonight that they are supposed to wear them tomorrow.

I am glad the Girl Scout event went well!
You must be SO excited for your cruise! How fun!

I did read along... every post! But I did not take very good notes, I am afraid. Let's see...

Jennifer - feel better. Is your BP OK? Sounds like the OB could be looking for pre-eclampsia?

Elizabeth - I think you should start a countdown to getting away from MomBoss!

Deb - I understand your concerns. I think the talk you had with the boys is just perfect.

Becky - you were busy (as usual) the past couple of days. Well done!

I hope I didn't miss anyone. I am off to bed tonight. See you all in the a.m.

I don't get what you all see in Mr. Depp but I an impressed that Alan knows how to give his wife a great present after 17 years! Congrats, by the way.

I never got the appeal in him either-- i thought it was just me!

Hi all!

Well this has been an exciting day ;) I got a call at work from Riley's school telling me he had been in a accident. It happened after school while he was waiting for his ride to come home. He was riding a friends bike & a lady opened her car door as Riley was going by & he hit the door & flew over over it & landed on the ground :scared1: Thankfully there are no broken bones, I will just have one sore boy tomorrow. He landed on his right side & his arm & leg are pretty sore at the moment. Never a dull moment around here

The lady did call me to make sure Riley is ok. I am not completely blaming her, but hopefully she will check her side mirror next time.

Whew--glad Riley is okay..how scary!!

Cassidy's math final is tomorrow morning...I hope she passes....I don't even care if it's a high pass I just want her to pass. There is now a movement that this man's crazy grading rubric will soon be the way they grade throughout the whole dang school. :headache:

How did the final go?

I just saw the coolest countdown calendar! Alot of work, I'm sure, but lots of fun too.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1456126

That is awesome!

Our friend who has MS drove his truck into a tree this morning. This is the truck they just put a new engine in. He really managed to beat the truck up and his face. He also wasn't thinking and left the scene and then, after delivering the rest of his route, went into the station to report it. So he is facing 8 points on his license and dental work up the ying yang and a wrecked vehicle.
Wow, glad hes okay

I'm so stressing...

One of our neighbors came by today and told us that one of the boys that moved in up the street is a convicted sex offender. He is a 7th grader :scared1: He has apparently suspected that the kid might have issues, but then another neighbor says that she knows it to be true. He has lived there for several months and I have never had contact with him. They boys said that he rides the bus with them. I'm trying not to over react as it is all hearsay. I would like to know for sure, but I have no idea how to find out. I called the police dept and they said to call the Sex Offender hot line, but I believe that he would not be listed since he is a juvenile and is protected by law. I'm always careful to watch the boys when they are outside, but now I don't want them out of my sight. Friends of our live directly across the street from the boy and they said the he is VERY strange. They are going to make some phone calls and see if they can find anything out. His older siblings go to the high school that my mother works at and she knows them. She said they are a rough bunch. One of the girls got into so much trouble in school that she was placed "somewhere" outside of the family home. We also know that the father got into a fight at the bowling alley and has been banned for life. Great neighbors hey? So my friends WWYD?

Very scary!

Jen,

Hi!!!! Detail woman, we want details!

details and pictures please.

And I got a postcard today! Welcome home, Jen! :yay:

Hi everyone :)

Sorry, was catchng up--i actually read all of the pages i missed!!

I kept notes the entire trip and will write my trip report tomorrow (just going to TRY to do the whole thing!) Im going to add a ton of pictures in that, but im sure i can find some pics to post right now--i took 200 :)

Elin-Glad you got the postcard...i was just about to ask if anyone got them..my family didnt , and i sent it saturday so was hoping someone got theirs!

Jen - i can't wait for the trip report!

Elin - Good night!

I need to head to bed myself. There is absolutely no telling what will happen tomorrow, so I guess I should at least be well rested!:sad2:

hmmm i just got a popup on my computer that said windows was low on virtual memory--im HORRIBLe with computers--anyone know what that means? Or what do i do?

Deb - would you consider straight out asking the mother? How about approaching it as something like "this is the rumor going around and I just wanted you to know, so if it isn't true you can put an end to it"? Other than that I would make it clear to the boys that this family is one that they do not want to get involved with, and give them strict guidelines to follow when having contact with them. They just sound like trouble all around. I don't blame you for being worried or concerned. :grouphug:

all that Tammi said and I will add that it might be best to tell the boys...run don't walk if they should find themselves alone with ANY of the family.
