Olivia has 102.3 fever.
shes complaining that her tummy hurts.

I bought Tylenol meltaways to try to get her to take. I cant get her to take them. I have tried bribing her with candy, and sprite but no good.

I forgot to say we got the Tylenol meltaways and Abi HATED them....she'd rather have the chewables.

and poor Olivia...it's rough to be sick and not want to take the meds.

Hi, everyone! I'm back!!! I'm trying to catch up, but I'm clear back about 200 pages. I'll try to read fast. Let me know if there's anything I absolutely NEED to know, now!

 Welcome back! I missed seeing you around.

pixiedust: for Olivia! I've heard a lot of that going around here lately. It has been a pretty quick things for the people around here that have had it. I hope it is quick for her, too.

so what special treats or traditional foods is everyone planning to make for Easter.

I'm making a ham with "ruby red" glaze, sweet potatoes with a cream cheese topping, garlic butter green beans, hot cross buns, pineapple casserole, and I'm not sure about dessert. Haven't gotten that far, yet.

She's a bit strong willed isn't she??

Both my girls hated taking meds when they were younger. They got sick so infrequently that it was foriegn to them. Finally they got to an age that I was able to reason with them (usually;) )...do you want to keep feeling yucky or do you want to feel better? You have to take the medicine to feel better....no grumping allowed if you don't take the med.

Matthew was the worst of mine as far as taking meds. They made him vomit almost every time...no matter what it was. Thankfully, he was almost never sick. The doctors used to advise a dose of Tylenol when getting shots, but we quickly decided that it was better to wait and see if he really needed it, because the Tylenol wasn't going to stay down anyway. That was from the time that he was a baby and lasted until he was around 12, I think.

I bought the meltaways because the only flavors of the chewable were mixed berry and cherry. She does not like red popsicles or suckers so that is why no cherry. she wont eat the mixed berry yougrt so I decided against the mixed berry. Of course it does not matter as she wont take them. she is asleep again, her temp is 102.8 now.

how do you do garlic butter green beans and is the pineapple casserole recipe on your web site. I posted a Pineapple dressing recipe is your casserole similiar?

We usually have ham. When the boys were younger all the family would get together & have an Easter egg hunt. But they had to go & grow up on me :(

I do still make one big basket & fill it up with goodies for them.

We are having a family egg hunt Saturday morning. It's really not challenging. We all dye a dozen eggs, and those get hidden. We also take bags of candy, and just spread it liberally around the yard. The kids love it!

We also have a potluck lunch, so I've got to come up with something for that. I'm going to try a recipe I found that makes rice krispy treats (except with Corn Pops), mush it into a muffin pan and top with Peeps and jelly beans. I'll post pictures if they turn out cute!

Poor Olivia, hope she feels better soon :wizard:

I also just remembered the story of my friend's little girl when she was about two. She couldn't hold anything down at one point that the doctor prescribed suppository Tylenol. A month or so later, she had a high fever but refused to take anything. Finally, her mother said this either goes in your mouth or I use the one that goes in the other end. The little girl ripped off her diaper and bent over. She was very stubborn! Mom did finally get her to take it by mouth.

Yep Glynis is back! Now we can all drool over your yummy menus :goodvibes

All these Easter traditions remind me of what Bob's family does - they play Crack the Egg. Nothing special, but traditions are fun. Everyone get's a personalized egg with their name on it, and you just go around the table hitting someone elses egg - you win by being the last one left with an uncracked egg. It gets hilarous after a while - trying to figure out if you should go for gusto and hit an egg as hard as you can, or just to tap it and pray for the best! :teeth:

That's what we do...winner gets a huge chocolate egg. last year Bill's mother won...
