My parents met on St. Patrick's Day, were engaged in June, and married on my mother's parents' 25th anniversary in December. Mom always told me that things worked out for them but that I should take a little more time.

I met dh in September of 1983. We starting dating December 10, 1983. We weren't married until May 28, 1988, so I guess I listened to mom. ;)
That's neat how they got married on her parents anniversary. :goodvibes
Good for you for listening to your mom. :thumbsup2

Thank you, I wanted to say this but was afraid that you all would get mad.
OMG I was drugged yeserday and so didn't filter my thoughts. Hopefully noone gets offended and yes I was raised the old fashioned way and still have some old fashioned notions according to others. Thank you it's funny how I probably would have not said anything for the same reasons if I had been using all my brain.

im so glad to see im not the only one posting!!

Nope but I will be heading off shortly...it is almost midnight!!

Jim and I had a date night tonight...went and saw Stomp the Yard...predictable but good.

Than we went to Red Lobster....shared a meal and appetizer and still came out of there stuffed!! We had 6 hours of just us together....I think that might be a record!!:rotfl:

I hated my flowers! The florist didn't listen to me at all and just did his own thing. He was supposed to be so good, too, which is probably why he thought his ideas were better than mine. I wanted it very simple...several stems of daffodils and blue iris with a little greenery and a few lily of the valley tucked in tied with a simple bow. I just about cried when they arrived. There were a few daffodils and blue iris and even a couple lily of the valley, but there was a ton of other stuff in there, too. It looked like a big jumbled mess tied with a giant ugly bow to me. I just went ahead with it all so as not to add any extra stress to my mother's day, but it is the one thing that really wasn't right. (Well, my veil wasn't what I'd ordered either, and they had to add a panel to the neckline of my dress, because it was cut much, much lower than the one that I had tried on...)

The flowers for the church were white daisies and white mini-carnations. Those were ok. I didn't care as much about those.

Here is a photo.

Isn't that terrible that he didn't listen to you It's your day. If I have a daughter I will be telling the people this is what she wants, this is what she's getting. The picture is lovely. :goodvibes

Thanks! In the grand scheme of life, it certainly isn't a big deal. I can't believe that was almost 19 years ago. I've aged quite a bit!

It's not a big deal but my mom is very opionionated she won't pay for something she wasn't pleased with and especially for the prices some weddings cost.

Good morning all...Let me just say that this weather is so driving me crazy. My sinuses have been haywire all week resulting in a constant headache and stuffy/runny nose and not to mention I feel like scratching my eyes out. UGH, I'm predicting that this baby is a boy as I was never sick while pregnant with either of the girls. Well I did get a stomach bug when pregnant with Molly but everyone that I knew had it so it was unavoidable.
I was sick with all 4 of my boys. :wizard: Hope you feel better.:wizard:

Ok, I thought I would share a few pictures from my wedding. It was a blast! Looking back, it the styles look so dated, compared to how modern weddings have now become.

Here's my cake. It was white with the raspberry filling.

My girls and I. The back of the bridesmaid dresses was open down to the waist, with rows strands of pearls dangling from shoulder to shoulder. That's what those appliques are that you see on the front, they hold the pearls. I wish I had a picture of the backs.

You look beautiful.:goodvibes You're ex is nuts.

My mother weighed 89 lbs when she got married. There was no way that her gown would have fit me. I think I fit into it in 6th or 7th grade :rotfl: :rotfl:

Deb
My mom's was some sort of mini wedding dress with white gogo boots.:scared1: Definitely not my style.

The mattress guy just called and he is on his way. Maybe I'll get a great night's sleep tonight :thumbsup2 Colby woke me up coughing around 1 AM then he woke up again around 3 AM and came in to sleep in our room. Gotta love those fold out chairs as we certainly put them to good use. The funny thing is he didn't cough yesterday and he isn't today, it was just during the night.

Now I need to go dig out wedding photos.
Blake did that when he was younger turned out to be asthma.
