The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 20

It's been a busy week around here, but it is going quickly! I can't believe we are to Thursday already. Let me see if I can remember what has been happening around here.

We did look at the vans on Tuesday afternoon. I think it's going to come down to price. There are certain things that I prefer in the Toyota and certain things that I prefer in the Honda. One small thing that annoyed me in the Toyota was the armrest on the driver's side. I need to see in another van to see if this one was broken. It had only two positions. One was up and the other was at a weird downward angle.

The rest of the week has been normal stuff...nursery school, shopping, laundry, driving to activities, etc.

Matthew looks great up there!

My BIL is the Service Manager for a Toyota dealership and had a Sienna for the last 6 months as his demo. I don't know about the driver's seat, but I do know that the arm rests on the captain's chairs in the back had several positions available. After you pull the armrest all the way up to the high angle you can push it down to the "weird downward angle". After that you can pull it up a bit at a time until you get the angle you want. It would make kind of a ratcheting sound at each available stop. I would hope that the driver's seat would do the same thing so hopefully you just got a broken one.

Maybe my back pain isn't serious, but boy the incoming bills are :scared1: The very first visit with the Nurse Practicianer and the Spiral CT is over $3500 At least insurance is covering some of it. I think my back injury will end up costing us more out of pocket than our entire trip to Disney this Summer. Now I remember why I don't go to the doctors.

Deb

Add to the bills the part where I almost always have as hard a time getting an explanation for my problem and often never do and I'm with you on that.

Well, since my sister is apparently coming here so that she can get a shower in peace, I guess I had better go get mine. Have a great day everyone and I'll see you after while.

The zoo is free, but there are small-ish costs ($2-4) for the sea lion show, carousel, children's zoo and train. Plus there's the $9 parking fee. I just thought it might be something non-stuff-ish that he could do for her that she would understand what it was.

How nice that the membership includes those things! I have a membership to the Dallas zoo, but it only covers parking and admission. Carousel, monorail, pony rides, and feed for the goats and fish is all extra AND you have to pay cash for it. Woe to the parent who shows up at the zoo without wads of small bills!

Welcome back, Glynis!!! We've been thinking about you and how your trip was. I am glad that you had such a great time. I can't wait to hear more about it.

Congrats, Glynis, and welcome home!! We are all so proud of you!

A quick trip to downtown Disney and a hot fudge sundae would be a nice way to start the trip. ;)

Hmm. I'll have to think on that. It will be 10 PM by the time we get to AKL and get situated, and DH and DS will be coming off of full days at work and school. I was shocked that DH mentioned going to a park!

Good thoughts and :grouphug: for Mel.

Ditto!

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Beth. What a handsome young man!

Beth, I am surprised that they didn't announce NO flash photos. DS's theater always makes it very clear that the flashes are dangerous to the actors. Your DS looks great!

Same here, I do not go unless I can't stand the pain anymore. We have insurance, but still seem to pay alot out of pocket!

I got a bill for $340 from the orthopedic surgeon yesterday. We have a $500 per person deductible, so almost NONE of that was covered. And it was part of 2006, so now we start all over again.:headache:

I got a call from Nissan yesterday wanting me to come look at the '07 Altimas. I told the guy I will NOT terminate the lease unless he can get my payments to drop like a rock. We made some big mistakes with our current lease, and there is NO WAY I will get suckered again. When we got this car we were trying to get out of the horrible Taurus that had so many maintenance problems. This car has had maintenance problmes, too, but I think it will last until the end of the lease. I am not in a situation where I HAVE to get a new car. I am supposed to go Saturday to see what they can do.

Anne Marie - Love the pics!:) It sounds like you had such a fun afternoon! When you guys went to WDW last year do you remember if they had regular early entry days at MK, or was it JUST MB? Trying to pick which park on which day is going to drive me over the edge! Maybe I should give up on trying to hit all the early entry days, but then I would have to try to purposely avoid them, which is just as bad!:rotfl: Maybe I should scrap the 8 AM breakfast ADR plan and go with the 11 AM ADR plan so if it is early entry it won't matter. Hmm...

It would be nice if it were available to book for a night or 2, but could you imagine the cost :scared1: Having the park to yourself, oh that would be great! But I guess unrealistic on my part.

So what do you think they will do with the room after YOAMD's ends.

Can you imagine the nightmare it would be to try to book the Cinderella Suite? Even if they had a dedicated phone number just for that room and they only let people book for one night it would be YEARS before most people could get in! Of course they would probably only let you book 6 months - one year ahead. Maybe they will offer a package deal that includes one night of your stay in the castle, but the rest of the package would be so hideously expensive that not very many people would book it.:confused3

MB EMH's were Sunday, Wednesday, & Friday.

Regular EMH was Thursday.

Phew!!! It's done...only took 3 hours to print and two cases of paper...but it's done!!
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Yippee Skippee!!!!!

I just finished a big project too-spreading the 2007 revenue budget over the 12 months. Not an easy or fun task as we've changed how we do a few things so I can't just use the past as a guide-have to use my crystal ball which isn't always so crystal clear.

Hello, DDA!:)
Before I forget, Target has toys 75% off.
Guess where I'm going for lunch? Hey---how many pins would you buy at $2?

Terra is getting a bike for her birthday as well. I have to see if she needs a new helmet and pads as well. I think I may see if my BIL will get her a zoo membership or one to The Magic House (local children's museum). He works in an art museum and likes to do gifts like that.
I've been to that zoo.

Tia - Another mom was telling me last week that the St. Louis zoo is FREE? Is that right? What does a membership get for you if the zoo is free?:confused3
That was my first thought then I figured I just had it confused with DC.

Hi, everyone! I'm back and so happy to be back!!! We had a great time, and I promise I'll tell you all about it. Suffice it to say, I actually FINISHED the half, and didn't do too badly, either.
Yippee Skippee to you too!! How awesome!!! Congratulations!!! Can't wait to read more about your 1st trip to WDW.

Which Harry Potter are you reading? I am finishing up my Peter & the Shadow Thieves and then I think I'm going to start rereading all my Harry Potter's.
I'm reading Peter & the Starcatchers to Lizzy. I know I would enjoy HP but haven't read any yet.

Tia I think I might do an Ariel swim party theme as Olivia's party is in July.
That sounds great!

Thanks for explaining. I figured I had just lost my mind.

i got an early birthday present.yesterday i emailed my cousin if she wanted to go sept 27-oct 4 2008. AND SHE SAID SURE START PLANNING. :jumping1:

Does anyone know what animated movies from Disney are out for purchase right now?

I know Cars & Little Mermaid.

I have most everything on tape(VHS) & would like to start getting the DVD's. It is very possible we may drive to WDW this summer so I need DVD's for the drive. Thanks!

Fox and the Hound. Can't remember if its 1 or 2.

I just got back from the DMV. Had my licensed renewed. I was in and out of there in under 20 minutes. That has to be a record!

I am in total shock! When we went this summer to take care of Kristin's license we were there for almost 3 hours! :sad2:  :sad2:

YAY! 94,000!!

The Disney Store is doing pre-sale for Peter Pan.
Thanks for the info about MB & EMH.:) I guess I could plan for Monday or Saturday to NOT be an early entry day and book CP for 8 AM. The rest of the summer is showing Tue & Thur for morning EMH. I brought my Disney notebook to work with me today so I can really look at the schedule.

Karen - That's great! Have fun planning!

Bernadette - If all 3 of your kids trade then I would buy PLENTY! I need to go see what our Disney Store has! Tomorrow would be a good day for that, since that's my usual day to add to our gift card.
