It's around 32 degrees, a little snow but not enough to cover the grass, it was raining a little earlier, then a little sleet or snow. Not bad for driving though. Sorry.

Well, there is still the potential for tonight into tomorrow, right? Just kidding, I really hope that you don't get hit with bad weather.

If you all wondering what I am doing here and not in Richmond it is because Kristin is not feeling well. She is very nauseous and having major gastrointestinal issues. We opted to wait until tomorrow morning to go back to make sure she doesn't have the nasty norovirus that is running rampant all through the USA! I told her that there is no way I would let her infect her roomies.

So, everything is packed, she is back in bed and Kathrin is on her way up to Fredericksburg to go out to dinner with Bob and me. We were all looking forward to a super dinner at a Mediterranean tapas place in Richmond called "Europa" and Kathrin was not about to give up a good meal out at our expense. ;) We will be eating at a snazzy local restaurant called Claiborne's which is located in the train station downtown. We haven't eaten there since our 30th wedding anniversary!

pixiedust: for Kristin to feel better soon! Enjoy your good meal out!

The last one I got off the CB. It was pretty much tell us as much or as little about yourself as you see fit.

I forgot about this one. Ok, let's see. You might be sorry you asked! :lmao:

I was born and raised in Michigan. I spent the 1st 13 years as a Troll (those who live below the Mackinac bridge in Michigan). I moved to a small town in the U.P. when I was 13. It was definitely a culture shock. Engadine is a very small town. We drove an hour to the doctor, dentist, etc. The grocery store, movie theatre was 1/2 hour away. I was a Girl Scout for 8 years (Brownie, Junior & Cadette).

I have a younger brother, sister & adopted brother (who was adopted after Chuck & I married). We also had two exchange students in high school - one from Denmark my junior year and one from Germany my senior year. They are like brothers to me. I lost my father in a car accident 9 years ago. My mother lives about 2-1/2 hours from me.

In high school, I was a cheerleader, played basketball & volleyball & ran track. I was MVP track for 4 years, still have several school track records and a U.P. Class D 220 yd. dash record. I went to varsity as a sophomore and started all 3 years. I made All Conference for all 3 years, All U.P. & All State Honorable mention Basketball my senior year. I was also salutatorian of my high school class.

I went to Michigan Tech for engineering but decided that wasn't a good match for me. Due to moves, I transferred to both Grand Valley State and then Northern Michigan where I completed my B.S. in Computer Science the summer before I turned 30 (which was my goal).

I met Chuck at Michigan Tech. We lived there for 2 years while he went to grad school. We moved to Holland, Perkins & then Iron Mountain (all in Michigan) when he got new jobs. We have two daughters, Katrina & Rebecca, who were both born in Holland.

I've worked as a waitress, store clerk, secretary, office manager, engineering clerk, software programmer, computer tech and now computer manager. I currently work for the State of Michigan. I have to travel to Lansing for work at least once a month.

We love to camp, kayak, & geocache. Chuck & I get through the winter & bad days at work by planning our summer camping trips & our next Disney trip. My first trip to Disney was when I was 15 with my family. I went again on my senior class trip. This was when it was just Magic Kingdom. I really enjoyed it and wanted to return. Four years ago, I convinced my family to give it a try and we have returned yearly since.

How was everyone's day? Mine was great! After Mass I went to advanced auto and picked up 2 bulbs for the van. Then I came home and changed them, only breaking a teeny piece of plastic that is hidden when the tailgate is down. Now my break lights work! I don't need a man! Shortly after that my friends arrived and we had a nice visit hanging out and talking. Then we went out for an early dinner at Red Lobster. I love their coconut shrimp! Stopped at Lowes while we were out and I got a new light bulb for the kitchen. They left about 15 minutes ago so now I have some time to relax. The kids are out on the screened porch playing with playdoh. In the middle of January! It's still 68 degrees here.

I am so excited. I just helped my sister set up a very quick trip to WDW for her and my one other sister :yay:
She had been so down after putting her dog down the week before Christmas and just decided to visit our sister who lives in St Pete, Fla. I know given the chance she would try to drive over even if it was a day trip. I told her a one day ticket was only $71 including tax. Then I got to looking at the dates of the Pirate and Princess party and one of them was during her stay. SOOOO I sent her an email with the title Enabler Alert and copied the information about the party and then advised she could just stay at a very inexpensive hotel and do the party that night and then get up and go to Epcot the next day.
Well she called and was able to get a night at Pop---so for $288 for the two of them, they will do the party and then the next day at Epcot. Just a few dollars more for food and they are all set. Plus they can use Disney transportation. :yay: :yay: :cool1: :dance3: ;) :cheer2: :cheer2:
I am so very excited for them. Yes I want to go down too, but I will wait to visit her in April over Easter.
:cool1: :cool1: Which day are they going?

Thanks for asking..
it has been a really rough couple of days. As of now, she is s till in the intensive care unit and will be for at least another day, depending on any other complications. They removed her breathing tube yesterday and she is now able to sit up and talk. When she talks, it sounds like she is out of breath and wheezing--very scary to hear. She is still having irregular heart beats and her blood pressure and sugar is high. They said she is doing better, but were still trying to determine if there is damage to her heart from the trama. I went in to see her yesterday and i couldnt recognize her..i actually looked right past her b ed trying to find my grandma..it was hard..i just came back from the hospital again and there is no change..hopefully we will talk to her doctor later..
I will update as soon as i can!

I spent most of yesterday painting the girl's playroom. So far it is black (chalkboard paint) and lime green (left over from Emma's room) I need to hit Home Depot this afternoon for some more paint, I thinking of a bright blue. Once the walls are done I am going to paint different color circles on the walls and in each circle put a Disney Character. I am hoping to get the walls done tomorrow as I have no daycare kids and Eric will be off to watch the girls.
OOhh..sounds nice. I'd like to see pictures when it's all done.

:yay: for getting the tail lights changed.
Of course you don't need a man. I just wish more women would think that way.

A while back, I had said that if I hadn't married a smart man I'd would be in trouble. Truth is I know I can do it on my own if I need to.

I went to advanced auto and picked up 2 bulbs for the van. Then I came home and changed them, only breaking a teeny piece of plastic that is hidden when the tailgate is down. Now my break lights work! I don't need a man!

Yummy, Elin. Funny, but I was thinking about that as we were on our way over to Red Lobster. How was dinner? Is Kristin feeling better?

With that, I'm heading to bed. It was actually a pretty good day, but then I had an argument with my mom over the phone, which was frustrating and made me pretty mad. She proceeded to spend the bulk of the conversation obsessing over the jerky behavior of my 25-year old brother (which is usually all she does), and then had the audacity to tell me that she thinks I'm obsessed with Disney and "should go see someone" when I mentioned that we were going to WDW for that quick weekend in March.

Of course, I then retorted that she was obsessed with my brother, and even if I do have a Disney obsession, at least Disney makes me happy, doesn't lie or manipulate me, and doesn't treat or make me feel like cra* on a daily basis, which didn't go off so well. :sad2: Ugh. Nothing like family to really brighten a day!

Goodnight DDA!

:grouphug: I have had to tell mom once or twice this week-end that I don't need a lecture. Luckily, she has been really great to be around the last couple of years. She doesn't usually start on me.

Great pictures, looks like you were all having fun. Thanks for sharing!

Here are a few pictures from our meet at WCC on the Friday night before the 1/2 marathon with Glynis and Kate and families. Thanks to my DH Greg for taking a few pictures since I forgot to...

Thanks for catching us up, Amy. Congrats to Kevin on the promotion and his run on the stage. I would pay money to come see that!

One day you will sleep again, I promise. I remember thinking I would never sleep more than a couple of hours a night too. But this too shall pass.

Now the matter of being able to go to the bathroom alone.....

Or drinking your own bottle of soda, water or any other beverage.
