So I survived work and the Girl Scout Me and My Guy Dance today. There were about 115 girls and 90 men, mostly fathers but some uncles, brothers, family friends, Grandpa's etc. They all had an absolute blast, the only complaint that we heard was near the beginning and that was that there wasn't enough seats. That was while they were still arriving, however they quickly found out the true reason they were there to dance and they did.
Myself and my co-leader took pictures of all the girls and the man in their life. We had 3 cameras, 7 memory cards and 4 photo printers. We were taking a few pictures passing off the memory cards and moving onto a new card while the pictures printed as they took forever or so it seemed.
I took Brooksie but I completly forgot about him

as I was so busy.
I had a nice chat with my co-leader about how well this year is going and how much happier the girls seem and that they are actually showing up to events, we have been having near perfect attendance and that is pretty impressive with 16 middle schoolers. Last year she said with the same girls was totally different they didn't want to go to things and weren't showing up.
Reason this discussion came up is because she wants to know what I am doing next fall because by Thinking Day the end of February, the Service Unit will want to know if we plan on leading again next year. Co said she was thinking this was going to be last year but is reconsidering after talking to a potential bridging leader, as long as she knows she has commitment from someone who will do something AKA me.

Our 3rd co hasn't done much of anything and she doesn't want someone who is just a warm body.
6-18 months ahead of time is so hard for me to plan. Who knows where I will be or what I will be doing. It isn't a matter of whether or not I want to do it, it is a matter of if I will be able to do it. I have enjoyed this year, it has been so much less stress and I get along with her very well. Her daughter was in tears when her Mom had told her she wasn't doing Girl Scouts next year. So we will see what happens.
I hope this isn't too confusing.
