What if I put it this way...what does everyone NOT like about the cake?

the flowers were my least favorite part of the cake.

I like the look of the cake. The flowers - not so much. And I like the white cake behind it too - but I don't want a white cake, so I think that's why this one caught my eye. I like how each layer is different, and alot of fondant doesn't have to be used. And if my cake designer can squeeze in a Mickey - then yes there'll be a Mickey somewhere!

That was my thought, too. I love the cake, but I'm not sure about the flowers. They almost seemed to take away from the cake. The cake itself is simple, but the scrollwork is ornate. The flowers seem a bit too much for the cake. I think a hidden Mickey would be a special touch (he can represent the DDA)!

what are your wedding colors? Maybe you could pick a light color of icing - I have seen that cake in tiffany blue and it looks pretty!!

Good afternoon, DDA! Hope everybody is having a good Monday so far! It wasn't nearly as icy as they said it would be, so I am working. DH called me at 4 AM to tell me he was at his first account. The bridges and overpasses were shut down for the most part, but the roads were OK. Temps are still below freezing but the sun is shining so some of the ice is melting.

Here are places I have picked out for our Dec. trip to eat at. what do you think? I am wanting to try some different places.

Concourse Steakhouse – Never eaten at
Kona Café – Never eaten at
Ohana – Poly
1900 Park Fare – Breakfast - Never eaten at
Rose & Crown – Never eaten at
Tony’s Town Square – Never eaten at

50’s Primetime Café – Never eaten at
Sci-Fi

Concourse was OK, nothing special. We LOVE Kona for dinner - we've been there 3 times. Love 1900 Park Fare breakfast AND dinner. We've done 50's PT 3 times. We like it, and DS actually eats his food when we go there. I always request a fun server, but we have never gotten a really over-the-top fun one.

TMJ was my first thought.

I am almost to the point of going to potty on my own...but I am just not sure I will get to ever drink a drink all to myself again (unless it has alcohol in it!!)

I have never let any of the kids follow me to the potty or drink out of my cup. I guess being a nanny before I was a mom sort of gave me the practice to keep those same rules in place with DS.

I sure hope that you can get things resolved soon! Going without sleep is not conducive to watching kids. You made the right decision about switching with the coworker. You have to take care of yourself first. You need the rest!

Chuck made homemade chili yesterday for us and I made corn bread to go with it. I think Mom & I will be having that for lunch again today. It is so yummy!!! I haven't had chili mac in years. I just might do that for lunch today. That sounds really good. Or I might make a chili cheese baked potato. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions?!

More DDA brain-sharing going on - Jonathan made chili for us last night, too! We don't have any left, though...

I called today and booked us to go to Medieval Times on Jan. 26. I called DS's friend's mom first to make sure he can come along. I wanted to go on Saturday at 5 PM, but DH wanted to go on Friday since he is off on Saturday that weekend. The drawback to the Friday show is that it is at 8 PM. Kind of late for dinner, but I guess we'll deal with it!

Marie Osmond Dolls is currently on QVC. Guess what the current doll is? Baby Donny!!!!! He was even a cutie when he was a baby. Chuck would shoot me if I bought a $149 doll! Luckily, I'm not a doll collector!

I was able to find a Cassidy doll by Marie Osmond on Ebay for $30 I think it was...I gave each girl one year a namesake doll for Christmas. Marie makes beautiful dolls!!

Nope. Still got to do the mom thing. Don't I ever get a day off?

Actually, it hasn't been too bad today. We took our kids to the paint store and let them each choose the color they want their room to be. Then we told them that as soon as they show us they can keep their rooms clean (say for a month), we'll paint them. They have all been busy working in their rooms. Katie even went through her closet and pulled clothes and shoes that don't fit anymore. So far, so good!

Ha ha. Then you should pick out the ugliest color and tell them that if they don't stay clean, that is the color you are going to change it to!

I don't have colors yet - I'm odd like that. I am leaning towards an ivory and a chocolate color though - with centerpieces and bridesmaids in color.

Tell her I saw her site before it went down yesterday - my favorite was the yellow one!

I love the cake! The flowers, not so much. I think it is because the flowers are so VERY autumn-ish.

ITA! I love the gerbia daisies, the redish brown calla lillies, and white and orangish roses...On the cake they looked fake and dried. I can't see gerbia daisies on the cake, but could get away with a row or two of off white roses I think to help keep the look - or none whatsoever...who knows what I'm planning. At the rate I'm going I'll have ruby red and end up with a pink cake.
