I'm so excited! I was lurking around other areas of the Dis tonight (shocking, I know! ;) ) and I found out you can now buy all of your photopass pics on one cd for $99! This will be such a deal compared to the $200 plus we spent on 23 pictures in October!

Amy :)

shaking head

Dear dear Amy you obviously weren't paying attention in class as I shared that snippet weeks ago! :rolleyes1:

You must write 100 lines:

I must pay attention in the DDA

Good morning to all!

So, what did you all do for your child(ren)'s 2nd birthday?

We had a pretty big party for Alyssa's first, but I'm wondering what route to take for her 2nd. Kevin and I are both children of divorce, so the guest count is 24 with just grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins! Many of the friends we've made through the years (college, work, community, etc.) have kids and of course, we've made new friends through swimming lessons, playdates, etc. so potentially that's 35-40 people (including parents and siblings). We use the fellowship hall at our church, so space isn't an issue (and I don't have to clean :teeth: ). Last year, we bought fried chicken and chicken strips from Kroger and I prepared several side dishes. My MIL baked the cake.

Is it ridiculous to have a big get-together like this, every year? Obviously, if I go this route, then I do it for baby #2 too.

I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance!
Amy :)

Hmm... sounds like a great party... but then next year you'll have even more friends and two parties to throw... by the time they're 18 you'll be renting the local football stadium!

How about special birthdays get big parties? Small parties can be fun too - I like the ones Glynis talks about where the kids come along and make things.

Of course this is just my HO as I have no kids :teeth:

Early bed for this girl. I thought I felt a little crappy yesterday and earlier today, but this evening I just got hit by a ton of bricks!

My sister had this bug (hopefully this one) earlier this week.... I say hopefully because it was HORRIBLE but it was just a day. Right now I'm so achy I can't stand, sit, or lie down comfortably (doesn't leave much option does it), and my throat is killing me. Denise, did you give me strep?

As soon as Kyle walked in the door I started bawling because I felt so bad! We are supposed to have our Valentine's Day tomorrow because I have an evening class (and a test) on Tuesday. I'm always more emotional when I'm sick, so I was freaking out about not feeling better for our date!

I've taken some Nyquil so that I can hopefully just sleep it off. If it doesn't work, I'll be back for some chatting. Otherwise, have a good night and I'll catch up tomorrow!
:wizard: I hope you feel better for your date.

Tammi - that is one of my favorite sayings - it really says it all - this is the story it comes from:

Recently I overheard a father and daughter at the airport in their last moments together. They had announced her departure and, standing near the security gate, they hugged and he said, "I love you. I wish you enough." She in turn said, "Daddy, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too." They kissed and she left.

He walked over toward the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see he wanted and needed tocry. I tried not to intrude on his privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say goodbye to someone knowing it would be forever?"

"Yes, I have," I replied. Saying that brought back memories I had of expressing my love and appreciation for all my Dad had done for me. Recognizing that his days were limited, I took the time to tell him face to face how much he meant to me. So I knew what this man was experiencing.

"Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever goodbye?" I asked.

I am old and she lives much too far away. I have challenges ahead, and the reality is, the next trip back will be for my funeral," he said.

"When you were saying goodbye I heard you say, "I wish you enough." May I ask what that means?"

He began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone." He paused for a moment and looking up as if trying to remember it in detail, he smiled even more. "When we said 'I wish you enough, we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them," he continued, and then turning toward me he shared the following as if he were reciting it from memory:

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish enough "Hello's to get you through the final "Goodbye."

He then began to sob and walked away.

I wish you enough.

I like that

Life sure changes. I know in my grandfathers lifetime they went from horse carriage to a man on the moon. It is hard to beat that. However, in my life time we went from film you had to mail in to have developed to digitals that you just upload. We were lucky to use a roll of film because of the cost for special trips when I was young and you say I only took 200 pics. :rotfl: It sure is easier with digital!!!!! Wouldn't trade it for the world but it just struck me as funny.

That's why I love digital!

On our family trips to WDW when we were kids we'd come home with about 15 rolls of 36 exposures (for a fortnight trip) - Mum would get them developed at work the very next day and then they'd be in an album.

Last trip I took over 2000 pictures and I still don't have them developed as it's taking me too long to sort through them :rotfl:

Leighanna got a birthday phone call from Goofy. She loved that.
She also got a signed birthday card from the Pooh gang (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore). Pooh and Tigger danced with Leighana around the Crystal Palace. She thought she was a star.
She got a signed Magical Moments card from Cinderella at CRT. They now give wands to the girls, and swords to the boys and wishing stars to all the kids there, along with a special wishing "moment" at the end of the breakfast. It was really neat!
She also got cupcakes and special desserts at just about every restaurant that we went to. She went up on stage at the Hoop Dee Doo, and danced with one of the dancers. There were just too many magical moments to remember.

Hooray for pixie dust! :wizard:

I thought I was in a private posting party then but looks like we're both catching up at the same time :)

I have to admit I skipped a lot of posts... not really up for the potty training :rolleyes1:

See y'all later

Kelli Pneumonia is no fun. :wizard: :wizard: for your daughter that she gets better soon.

Tia have a fun trip with your daughter and enjoy that sun for us. :sunny:

Kate Glad the chart is working, I might have to try one for my boys they seem to have gone haywire this past month. I love the enough story so touching. Have fun planning your DL trip. :goodvibes This year is a great time to go with the 50th going on. The park looks great and the fireworks are amazing.

Marti I have to admit I have never tried a Dole Whip but with all this talk I am going to have to try one next time we go. :teeth:

Can't sleep as I've been sick and it's messing with my ability to sleep. Has anyone heard from Bengal? Is she doing Ok with her pregnancy? :confused3 Just wondering.

Yep, trying to catch up too. I can see how pottytraining is probably not the most exciting subject if you don't have kids. :rotfl2:
Have fun shopping. :teeth:
Gonna take some med. and try sleeping again.

I forgot my BIG news!!!

DH agreed to our Disneyland trip today!!!

I am so HAPPY!! We will fly to Denver and spend a few days with my sister's family - then we are drving to Vegas and spending the night there and then on to LA - my aunt and his best friend lives there so it will be a lot of fun - then we will fly home from LA -

just waiting for my airtran Wendys miles to post to book!!!

Best part is - we do not need a hotel anywhere - so our costs should be minimal!!!!

Be careful with those Wendy's points. I was saving cups for atleast one roundtrip for Atl to Mia for a cruise in April. Saved all the cups I needed for the roundtrip fare but there are no A+ rewards seats on the days I need to fly down and back. To use those A+ rewards you have to be flexible with your dates. Good Luck!!!

My DD was so cute as we were leaving this morning. She was saying, "I love you Disney World, I can't wait to see you again!" and then she blew kisses to the "World" as we were leaving. I felt so happy that she had a good time.
DisneyMDL.jpg

OK.....tears in my eyes now. That is so sweet!!!! I have to admit that the moment I step on to Main Street in Magic Kingdom and see the Castle I always start crying. But then again I cry at Folgers commercials so maybe that is just me.

I'm creating autograph pages and listening to my Disney Greatest CD's. I just made a revelation! I love "I'll make a man out of you" from Mulan. I just found out tonight that it was none other than my teen heart throb Donny Osmond. You were talking awhile back about posters and such on the wall. I read every Tiger Beat I could get my hands on for news of Donny, David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman. I had posters of all three when I was 12 or 13.

I was a HUGE Donny Osmond fan. I didn't realize that was his song. That is one of my boys' favorite songs!

Tia -- I'm a little late, but hope your trip has started off well!

Kelli -- PD and prayers to your daughter.. :wizard:

Tom -- it's great to hear ya'll had a great trip. The pictures you posted are so wonderful.

UM - yea!!!!!! I have to go buy the birnbaum book or should i wait for passporters version??!!?!!?!?

It is a whole new bunch of stuff to learn - I am so EXCITED!!

Don't sweat it! DL is so much easier to learn than WDW. I'll PM you the stuff I sent to Lindsey and you can see what else you want to know. The most important thing is to find out when you are going. That will help a lot.

Now, if you wanted to go at the same time we're going, I could be your personal slave, I mean, tour guide. Just kidding. I know this is your family time. Still, it would be cool to meet you on "my turf."

I'll go find the stuff I sent Lindsey and PM it to you now!
