Ramiro has had problems since the 1st grade.
He has been taking 2T's mineral oil & 2 multity vitamins after dinner.
Has been working.
Only problem is we can't seem to whin him off of it.
Everytime he stops taking it he has problems again.
He will be 12 next month.

My friends son has problems too, he will be 10 this year, he cannot eat mac & cheese and very little dairy, he eats a lot of canteloupe which seems to help and I know she had him on medication but also found as soon as he stopped taking it he had problems again.

I wanted to let everyone know that Bill's dad died late last night. Even though we knew it was coming, it was still a shock. Bill being the only child is having a tough time.

Thanks for the kind words.

I am going to chime in here on the potty training talk

I hated when Julia potty trained - that means we have to try out EVERY public restroom we pass - my mom made me try the potty training in a day book - it didn't work - I tried everything - nothing worked

This is what I learned - when they are ready they are ready -

Julia started preschool - somewhat potty trained - she was in morning class -so I took her right before we left and then we went as soon as we got home - she knew how to go - she just got so wrapped up in what she was doing that she didn't -

her teachers knew she didn't always ask to go and about halfway through the class - would ask her if she needed to go - this worked out just fine - she had 2 accidents the first month of school and that was it - so the incentive of going to school was enough for her and I only forced the training in the school element - the rest I let come naturally for her -

she still wears pull ups at night -I talked to the doctor about it and he said that a child with energy as high as hers during the day will sleep sounder at night and not be able to wake herself up - he said they do not become concernd until 6 that someone wears a pull up at night

potty training just isn't something I ever stressed about - okay I don't stress about a lot of the things - because I know that when they are ready they will do it - and so far I haven't been wrong!!

I agree about not stressing over this stuff, they seem to put a lot of timelines on things for kids here that I hadn't heard of before, I have never seem anyone walk down the aisle to get married wearing a diaper, sucking a thumb, carrying a bottle etc etc, each child is an individual and should be treated as such.

Thank you for keeping us informed. Bill and your whole family will be in our thoughts and prayers, the next few days especially. :grouphug:

PLEASE READ!!

I am not sure how many of you saw this post but I want to make sure everyone does!!

Remember when Marti said she did something to spread a little pixie dust on her trip?

here is the link to what she did - I know we don't all always make it to the other posts on this board - but I want to make sure that we ALL read this!!

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1027195

When you all ask why I do this? This is why - b/c you all are the type of people who would do something like this!!!

Marti and Paul that was a really special way to spread the magic. Way to go.

Now I want to share with all my DDA friends how I plan to spread some pixie dust. I am sending a piglet and a post card to a 5-year-old little girl who was burned severely when a cintronella candle caught her on fire. She had bug spray on and from my understanding this is what caused her to catch on fire. Anyway here is a link about the story if anyone would like to read it.

Hope these links work. I am so happy that I can send some pixie dust to this very brave child as she will need a lot of pixie dust to get through all of this.

Kate just checking to see if you got my PM about the piglet card?

I leave in four days and want to get something together to send.

Thanks
Delinda

Marti, Paul and Delinda.... thanks for spreading the pixie dust! Stories like that really make my day! :grouphug: :goodvibes

Well..... inspired by Kevin and Amy (albeit nowhere near as talented!), and suffering from serious flu-induced cabin fever....

I decided to make our Valentines. Talk about last minute! We usually only give them to our family, etc .... so it wasn't too bad. But they need printed and mailed today to arrive on time! :rotfl:

If nothing else, here is a Valentine for my DDA family.... at least yours is prompt -- if not a few days early! :goodvibes

PS -- don't ask about the lower left photo. I think we were delirious by this point in the night! :rotfl:

Bless you for spreading the pixie dust. I'm looking for a way to spread some pixie dust myself. I head to Disney on March 4. If none of my DDA friends need any pixie dust, then I'll post on the fairy godmailer board.

If any of my DDA friends know of someone that could use some pixie dust (including you & yours), please send me a pm. I'd love to spread the magic that Marti & Paul shared with my family.

Kristine and Bill - My sympathies to you and your family. You all are in my prayers, for strength to get through this difficult time.

Delinda - How thoughtful of you. I'm sure she will be thrilled.

Good luck with the potty training. We have literally been training ds 3 1/4 yrs old for a year and a half. He has been interested forever. Initially he would go if we put him on the potty, then he would go on his own, but not always remember. Then we went to Disney and had to start over pretty much. Now he is great during the day. Still uses a diaper for naps and night time and prefers to do #2 when he's wearing his diaper. Today however he announced that he had to go, went by himself and had us all come in to see what he had done on his own. We made a huge deal of it so hopefully he will continue. My first 2 trained in a very short amount of time. I don't think he will ever be out of diapers. I hope that you are have the luck that I had with the first two and have him completely trained, including nights in a very short time. :wizard: :wizard:

Deb

Yea!!!!! That sounds like a HUGE step to me!!! My neighbor's daughter trained pretty quick excpet for the #2 and would request a diaper just to go. She did that for months or so before she finally got tired of it...
