You shush! :rotfl: Between this pregnancy and chasing after Alyssa all day, I'm as dumb as a box of rocks (but I do know that's a simile :teeth: )

Amy :)

My SIL is now a stay at home mom. My neice is in Kindergarten now so that leaves 2yr old Dylan at home with her. Sometimes she just calls me so she can hear an adult voice. I remember those days. I stayed at home until Alex was in 1st grade. So I know where you are coming from.

I thought about doing some tie dye shirts. Tell me, those of you who have done them; how hard are they? I know that the Mickey ones took some of you a long time. If I didn't have to sew the Mickey heads, just banded the shirts would it take a long time? Would a relative novice at this be able to handle it?

Also, for anyone who sews, I've been thinking about getting some old jeans at the thrift shop, slitting the side seam and adding some really funky fabric to make them bell bottoms. Would that work, do you think? I can picture it in my mind, but don't know if it would work when push comes to shove. Now if I could just find an afro wig for DH, it would be so perfect!

It sounds like it would work. You could alway cut a thin triangle out to make the other fabric more noticable. As far as the tie die shirts. They really are much easier than one would think. I was scared to try it the first time, but even my 6 yr old neice made her own (non mickey) and they all came out great.

I know this is off topic, but I rarely post on any other board except this one.

My DB is a widower. His wife died about 5 or 6 years ago. He has 5 children, 3 are children that he took in as foster children and they adopted the boys before Sandy died. My Mom moved in shortly after my Dad died so she could watch the boys when my brother traveled. My brother is a business agent and goes out of town overnight a few times a month. He has not dated anyone since his DW passed away. At least not anyone that he brought home to meet Mom & the kids. Well to make a very long story short, he has brought a Lady home to meet Mom & the kids. He has been dating her since late December and they are now going out every week.

His dilemma? What does he get her for Valentine’s Day? Jewelry is probably not appropriate as they have only been dating a little over a month. I suggested flowers, candy and a book, but he doesn’t know what she reads.

I told him I would post the question on the boards & let him know the recommendations. He is 52 & I don’t know how old she is, I think in her late 40’s.

Thanks for any help you can give him. :goodvibes

Hello all...

Just checking in...I haven't been around much and mostly likely won't be for a bit. My 91 year old father in law fell and is in the ICU. Very long story...but he isn't doing well. Very stressful, and Bill as the only child is having a hard time. We have been faced with some difficult decisions....we signed a DNR. I truly pray for a peaceful release for him...there's just no quality of life left for him. We are exhausted and functioning on only a few hours of sleep.

Hope all of you are doing well.

Kristine

Poor Kristine!! Here is a dose of :grouphug: and the knowledge that you know where to find us when you need us.

Here are some suggestions:
Bath and Body Works bath stuff....shower gel, lotion, body spray
Gift Certificate for a massage at a spa
Jewelry....that would be o.k. as long as he stayed away from diamonds....what about a charm bracelet w/ a cupid charm on it.

Just some thoughts

Lynn

Lynn a charm bracelet seems like a great idea. He could add charms for each event or holiday that they are together. If the relationship works out she would have something really special and if not it isn't a huge investment. How about a Disney one. ;)

I was sitting here reading and Nick came in - I scrolled down and he said "NO!" as I tried to scroll - I scrolled back up and he kept yelling look! look!

He does this a lot when he sees characters - but I could not find a character he was talking about

finally I stopped on your post - he climbed in my lap - got the BIGGEST smile I have ever seen on his face and said again "look mommy"

I said - "who is that?" and he said "issa"

I said "yes it is - do you love her" and he said "yes" - he was grinning ear to ear - ran to get steve to show him and then said "mickey hugging issa"

Denise and I have already planned Davis' and Julia's wedding at the GFWP - maybe it will be a double wedding!!!!!

More good ideas.
Deb The charm bracelet with the potential to grow into something special is cool.
Tinkerbell, I never thought of the Hallmark site. Another good idea.
Thanks for replying. Penny

Will your DDA friends be invited to this wedding?? I have always wanted to go to a Disney wedding. Maybe then we can all finally meet each other. :rotfl2:

That's a very sweet story, but I don't know if I want you to be my baby's MIL. :rotfl2: I am very impressed with Nick's retention though...game night was months ago! We need to plan another get-together soon, so the lovebirds can reunite. :lovestruc

Now tell your sweet son to go to bed! :goodvibes

I can just imagine arguing with Alyssa over the guest list. "No Alyssa, you can't invite your college friends, because 55 DDAs are attending." :rotfl:

But I sincerely hope we meet before 2030! :teeth:

Hey!!! Then Alyssa would be a true princess when she marries the queen's son!!!

I was shocked when he said her name too - but they look at your Christmas card all the time!!

He has been upstairs - Julia fell asleep at 8:30 - now you all know how sick she is!!! He had been laying on the bed with her - I really think they might end up sharing a room - he always climbs in bed with her  but he wanted some juice!

Good Night!! 5:30am will come really early in the morning. I always do my 20 minute walking mile on M/W/F so I need to hit the sack.

Kate and Amy ya'll play nice.....o.k. :wave2:

Just don't post this on the CB...they'll eat you alive and tell you you're a horrible parent. :teeth:

I hope Julia1234 is feeling better soon!
