So, I gained six pounds this month! The nurse tried to make me feel better and say this was the only weight I've put on, but still...

We heard the heartbeat immediately! The ultrasound is scheduled for February 28th.

I have a friend of mine thinking about going to Disney 1st part of October. When was the free dining option offered last year?? I told her about it and that maybe it would be offered again this year.

Oh I took advantage of this last year & loved it! I know it began in August & the the last date was Oct. 4th. Out trip was Oct 1st - 8th & we had the free dining for our whole stay. It would be nice if they offered it again

Ok friends, I need some help. My sister in law is throwing her husband a surprise 50th birthday party. She has asked us all to come dressed from the 1970's. I don't have anything that will fit the bill. Can someone give me advice on cheap outfits (or anything relatively easy to make) for my husband and me? I have no idea what to do! Thanks all you creative people.

Just hit a Salvation Army or Thrift Store. There are always clothing from different eras in those stores and Salvation Army around here is really inexpensive. You could google fashions of the 70s to get some ideas of what to look for.

Hello all...

Just checking in...I haven't been around much and mostly likely won't be for a bit. My 91 year old father in law fell and is in the ICU. Very long story...but he isn't doing well. Very stressful, and Bill as the only child is having a hard time. We have been faced with some difficult decisions....we signed a DNR. I truly pray for a peaceful release for him...there's just no quality of life left for him. We are exhausted and functioning on only a few hours of sleep.

Hope all of you are doing well.

Which website has the DING??

DING fares are from Southwest. There is a program you download from their website that runs on your toolbar. A few times a day it will "ding". When you click on the window it will display the currect DING fares. These fares are generally only available for a few hours.

And if your obgyn is like mine, they weigh you before they take your blood pressure. If they want an accurate bp reading, shouldn't they do that first, before you see how much weight you have gained???

WOW!!!! $624000 for a 3bdrm??!! I guess that would be the going price for city limits of Atlanta.....I just don't know I would want to live there.

DH is busy with a house in Buckhead, 7 beds/7 full baths, 3 half baths and they just listed for 5Mil!!!
It is unreal how the prices have gone up here in Atlanta, we have some new houses going up in our SD and they are listed between 1.2 & 1.8 and out of 5 3 are under contract. I wouldn't mind living there just wouldn't like to pay the morgage or taxes and most of all clean it!!!

Beth - I am going to use your recommendations, too. I have a kindergartener (6) who is a beginner reader. He knows his sight words, and can sound out most small words, however it takes effort on his part, which he is not thrilled about. He gets "tired" after a few pages. I'm going to look for these series at the library.

There is another series that I just remembered. It is about a guinea pig named Fluffy. There are a bunch of those, too. Miles always laughs a lot when reading about Fluffy.

Another hint I stumbled across was to allow them to read by themselves a while after bedtime. My kids would always do almost anything to put off bedtime. I built in extra time so that I could tell them that if they were in bed on time they could stay up to read. They knew that they only had the extra time if it was used for reading.
