It sure is quiet today. I keep coming back to see if anyone is here but I guess I am the only one hanging out. I will be back later.

Lynn

I'm on and off this morning. I really do need to get going to the grocery store soon, though.

Good morning, everyone!!! :sunny:

I'm around - but I shouldn't be! I have to write up my performance review for work and I have a pile of ironing... I spent three hours this morning lurking on Lost forums!!!! Think I'll stick to the DIS - I read things about that show that made my brain hurt :rotfl:

It seemed quiet all week-end. I'm on & off as well today. I have to drive to Lansing for work so need to get ready to leave. It is an 8-hour one-way drive - 4 hours are on a 2-lane road through the UP. Beautiful drive across Lake Michigan but still only 2-lane.

I have to go once a month for meetings. It was 2 times a month until 6 months ago (when I told them I'm only coming once). ;) I wish that I had found this board sooner. I spent 6 nights a month in hotels and could have done lots of designing.

Well that's no good, hope Abi feels better soon :wizard: Did you contact the place you had eaten at?

I didn't even think of that!! Of course I wasn't thinking real clearly yesterday anyway. I'll get that on the honey do list for Jim today!!

How is Abi feeling? Any better yet? I know you were worried she was going to have to stay home.

Brenda,
I am just getting back to reading the board. I was going to ask you that if I did get enough $$ together, would you mind if I got this design as a tatoo for me? I would be honored to be a tink sister. In no way is the design too sexy. Besides at our age we are already sexy, this just adds to our charm :thumbsup2
Terry
No problem Terry.
I did talk to a Tattoo Artist about the design.
He said if I wanted her eyes opened I would have to go Large.
Also he & I are trying to design something that would tell a story.
Thinking of having her stand on 2 roses (my husbands).
Blowing 4 kisses (my children).
With some buterflies around her (my new freedom).
Maybe with a rainbow over her (new hope a brighter day).
Anyone want to help design this I would be honored.
I have found lots of designs all have been turned down, to small.
I have to have her eyes closed.
HELP!!!!

I didn't even give her a chance...I called her in sick last night at 6...when I left for work she was just getting up...she still has not eaten more than a couple of bites of anything...but is holding liquids down. Thank goodness because she is water girl....loves to drink water...and had a hard time keeping that down yesterday.

Well I certainly understand that! :rotfl:. I used to do that too, but I just got more confused. I just stick to watching the show and reading a few spoilers now and then. I just read about something really interesting coming up!!

What?! Could you please PM and tell me what you read that was interesting?

Thanks!

Has anyone ever heard of Shutterfly?? Instead of scrapbooking my cousin completes a Shutterfly book for their family trips. They have a website at www.shutterfly.com .....they have different items you can put pictures on. I think the best idea is the book you can personalize. It looks just like a real book with a binder and about 15 pages. You can put your own captions under the pictures like you are telling a story. For those of us lacking in the creativity field it sounds good to me. I haven't tried one yet but she brought hers to the last family reunion and they looked great. The total cost is about $30 but you can spend that much easily with a scrapbook and supplies.

Has anyone else ever tried it??

Lynn

I did one of these for my cousin with pics from her wedding. It looks great! The hardest part was narrowing down the pictures. LOL

Hopefully all of the yucky stuff is past her now and she can get her strength back today. Sending more :wizard:

Didn't Midnite have a birthday party for her daughter this weekend? I'm waiting for details. It sounded like it was going to be so much fun. I could use a happy story on such a gloomy day. We have rain yet again. We can't believe that is is almost February and we still have grass in the yard. This is unheard of in Vermont. Along with the lack of snow we seem to have had a lot more sickness in the schools. It seems a good snow kills a lot of germs (probably just an old wives tale, but who knows). My middle son is home with a fever today. I think I've had at least one of us sick everyday for the last few weeks, nothing serious, but just spreading it between us.

I made a shopping trip to our nearest mall ( 1 1/4 hours away). I was disappointed that there weren't any really good clearance sales going on yet. I did however stop at Kohl's in a nearby town on the way home and was able to get a lot of great deals on clothes for the boys for next winter. Even brand named sneakers for $7. I got winter boots for Hunter and Summer for just $3 per pair. I couldn't believe the great prices. Kitchensink Guy was very impressed. He always likes when I buy ahead as it saves him money in the long run. :thumbsup2

I've been adding some designs to my design thread. I managed a few Christmas designs and have some ideas for Halloween designs. I actually had trouble sleeping last night because all these ideas were running through my head. I have a serious addiction. I think I need a DDAA program :goodvibes

Do you know where your quote is? I've had fun reading different ones. Actually that is the most valuable information anymore. It's the little extra tips that everyone has that makes our trips a little more magical every time. I want to show my family that one of my DDA friends is published!

The tip is found on page 240 :goodvibes

Wow! That is awesome. We have another queen in our midst (if it says it in the Passporter, then it is so!) :rotfl: For those of you that don't have a passporter, I'm going to put here what the "Queen of All Planning" has to say.

"Now that our children are older and we have more than 15 family trips to Walt Disney World under our belts, the real draw now seems to be our dining choices! After a few trips with over-the-top food bills we hit on an affordable plan that seems to keep everyone happy. After we decide at which resort we will be staying on our trip, each person puts a main meal choice on a piece of paper and gives it to me. I am the 'Queen of All Planning.' No one is allowed to tell others their choice so that when we get to Disney our lunch or dinner is a surprise to everyone but me. The fun for me is in keeping the surprise!"
- contributed by Elin Havrilla, a winner in our 2005 Dining Tip Contest

This is one of the tips that I had already read and thought was a great one. Our trip is already planned this year but thought I might try it next year. Don't know if it will work for my family because the DD's don't care where they eat (they eat lots of little meals all through the day) and my DH likes to know "the plan". He doesn't have to make the plan but he needs to know the plan. It is one I'll keep in the back of my mind for a future trip.

Congrats! It was a unique idea.
