Has anyone ever heard of Shutterfly?? Instead of scrapbooking my cousin completes a Shutterfly book for their family trips. They have a website at www.shutterfly.com .....they have different items you can put pictures on. I think the best idea is the book you can personalize. It looks just like a real book with a binder and about 15 pages. You can put your own captions under the pictures like you are telling a story. For those of us lacking in the creativity field it sounds good to me. I haven't tried one yet but she brought hers to the last family reunion and they looked great. The total cost is about $30 but you can spend that much easily with a scrapbook and supplies.

Has anyone else ever tried it??

After sleeping most of the afternoon I did some on line research and this house has a case of food poisoning!! Thank goodness it was from eating out and not my cooking. . But I would appreciate some pixie dust over this way as Abi missed two days of school last week and looks like she will miss tomorrow.

Yuck! I hope that you are all feeling better soon. :tink:

Um, no. I'm not a designer, remember? :teeth: Seriously, my layouts are nothing special (though Kevin was very complimentary :lovestruc ), and hopefully Alyssa will someday think I tried my best. :goodvibes

Amy :)

Welcome back, Amy. Sounds like a great time (and productive too!). I'm with Marti and Beth...I'm sure that yours look great. I wish that I could get further that just buying supplies.

Is it a comparable price....$30-$40......price on Shutterfly varies depending on what time of cover you pick?? I think I am going to finish my stepsons's scrapbook and then the rest are going to be the books. His is from 2nd grade up until around 20 years old. I am at Senior Prom right now so hopefully I can get it completed by August for his 29th birthday. His wife also scrapbooks so I am sure she will add pages to it.

I hope you can get him to go at least once, maybe he will be like the rest of us & fall in love with the place :teeth: Dh has gone twice with us, but it is hard to enjoy when you know he does not want to be there. Hang in there, there is still hope!

That's the problem here too. Even when I get him to go somewhere, I end up worrying more about him than anything and don't have as good of a time. I'm trying to get him to just come down with us. We can get a non-expiring ticket and then he can just join us sometimes. The hardest thing to over come is that he works at home and is a writer (working on it anyway). When we are gone he gets so much done because ot is the only time that he knows there will be no interuptions. I figure he'll finally come when Terra is ikd enough to really want and ask him to come.

I truly thought that my first trip with my family would be my one and only. I have the same problem with my husband. I'm always worrying about whether he is having a good time and it ruins my time. Disney just hit the right cord somehow. We stay at the Port Orleans Riverside so he gets away from the crowds for a while every day. We go at a time of the year where it isn't crazy busy. He loves it. I wish you luck in getting him there and that he enjoys it as much as my DH.

You should really contact the restaurant too - they'd appreciate it and it may be a one-off - but then again they may have a problem and you could stop other people suffering.

I'm thinking of doing one of those through photobox which is the UK equivalent. You can load one big image per page or lots of small ones. I've just started digital scrapping so when I get enough pages done I'm going to get them printed and bound into the book - I think it could look really professional :goodvibes

ETA - Amy - I'm glad you had a nice weekend away - how was it being away from Alyssa? (sp)

I'd love to see you pages too - go on post some for us to see... pretty please with a cherry on top :goodvibes

I have made mine from Kodakgallery.com (formerly ofoto.com). I like them a lot, but I happen to work for Kodak so I feel obligated to buy from them and I get a 30% discount. I made one for my son's high school graduation weekend, and one for my DDIL's shower and I thought they came out great.

I have never made a photo book, but I use Kodakgallery.com for almost all of my digital photo printing. I also had the calendars made for my parent and my in-laws this year. It was very easy to use software, and the calendars came out very nice.
