I wouldn't count on it - We had wedding/honeymoon noted on our AKL reservation... nothing... the whole ten days... even when I came and went on two seperate days in my full on wedding dress no one said a word! We got far more attention in the parks from our wedding ears and buttons.

Just tell everyone that it's her birthday - on check in - at restaurants - at the park gates - to the CMs with characters... then you should get some PD - and why wouldn't she? She's ADORABLE

We were at the Contemporary for ds' 5th birthday and then two days later my 40th birthday. The hotel didn't do anything. Chef Mickey's had birthday placemats and cupcakes for us (even though it wasn't really either of our birthdays that day, and I hadn't noted it on the ADR). Crystal palace had pixie dust on the table, a card from the Pooh characters, and a cupcake for ds' actual birthday. CRT had pixie dust on the table, a cupcake, and a certificate for my actual birthday (and I don't remember noting that on the ADR...maybe dh mentioned it without me knowing). On ds' birthday we had his hair done with blue gel at the MK barber shop, and he had way more attention over that all day than his birthday shirt or button. We had a lot of magic that trip!

Hey Beth - Do you have to pay to have the gel stuff done at the barbershop? Can you get it done without getting a haircut?

Tammi--I paid to have his hair cut, and they did the gel and pixie dust included with that. I can't remember how much it was, but I thought that it was very reasonable. I'm sure that they will do the gel without a cut, but I don't know how much they charge for that.

Sometimes the waits can be very long. We were second in line that morning, because we were going on the Family Magic Tour and had already decided that we weren't going to try for rides before that. The line quickly grew behind us. I don't know if it gets shorter later in the day.

Also, he picked blue gel. It washed out of his hair easily, but we turned the bathtub quite blue and one whole wash cloth looked blue instead of white. In fact, mousekeeping never took that wash cloth, because they probably thought it was ours. I don't know how easily the tub cleaned out, but I did leave an extra tip that day.

I'll try to find photos for you. That was before we had the digital, so I'll have to scan them in.

OMG! I leave for a few days and this place turns into a madhouse!!!

Kate- I thought your "secret" addiction was between you and me! You made me SWEAR not to reveal it to anyone.... and here you've let Amy post it?!?!!? I can see from this time on that nothing is sacred.

Amy- Did I ever tell you about the pm Kate sent me with the pics of her when she .... OH ! Never mind..... It's just to awful to tell!!! ;)

Glynis- Love the pic of you and your kids. It's nice to see your face after all these months of posting.

PrincessLeighsdaddy- Your DW is very talented and makes really cute clothes for your DD. She's one lucky little girl! Whenever we've had b-days at the resorts, I've always called the resort and asked them if they can have a b-day cake in our room at check in. We've never been disappointed. Not only is there a small 6" cake (choclate) but there are balloons and a card from the favorite character. Call CRO back and ask them to arrange for a b-day cake. They'll take good care of it for you!

I've missed you all the past few weeks. I've been so busy at work- and now that we're going to be putting our house up for sale, I've been busy getting it ready. I'll try to keep current with you all. If I don't post, know that I'm reading and PLEASE think of me occassionally too!

Love the picture Glynis! Hey, if Kate can post a picture of her dressed as Mrs. Potts and I can post ones where I look especially terrible during my birthday trip - I'm thinking you look especially good!!! Now all we need is one AFTER the 60 pound weight loss.

Well, it's going to be a while, I'm afraid! We're still trying to figure out how we can afford the new refrigerator, freezer, snowblower that DH just bought, not to mention the new digital camera we need to buy to replace the one that got stolen. As soon as I have a picture, I'll post it. Promise!

Glynis, your children are beautiful.
J&N's Mom - The picture of Julia in her purple outfit is just perfect.
Tom -hope you have a blast and I love the outfit. what talent. :goodvibes
Kate - :rotfl2: I loved the comment about the kids on the other board. I was thinking the same things.
Becky - loved the scum buster story.
Dumbo - I will be in Disney when you are there. we leave 2/15. I will be sporting shirts made by the generous talented people on this board.
Steffy - Thanks for your reply & good wishes. (there's something else but I can't read my handwriting & I don't know what page it was on). :confused3
Midnite -what a lovely picture of your daughter. I also think your family is beautiful. :goodvibes
Denise - As I don't know the whole story about what is going on in your life, your special education comment caught my eye. As a special ed administrator, I find this to be one of the best sites ever for parents.

I am going to the CEC (Council for Exceptional CHildren) convention in Salt Lake City in April, if you want me pick up some conference papers for you, let me know.

To anyone I missed, I apologize. Probably by the time this gets posted (all of 10 minutes) there will be another 10 pages to go through. & I still have to go through the rests of the threads on this forum. good thing lost is a rerun.
Penny

Hey, Penny, when you are in Salt Lake in April you will only be about 20 minutes away from me. Let me know if you get any time, and maybe we can meet up!

OK this is really embarrassing, but I couldn't resist posting this picture of my family from my brother's 1976 high school graduation. The headband comment reminded me of this picture... Let it be known that my brother is definitely wearing a polyester leisure suit under that gown, and my dad's leisure suit was peach colored. My niece saw this picture and asked why we all wore costumes to my brother's graduation! :rotfl: :rotfl:
By the way, I am not recommending that anyone try to look like our lovely family! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ok, Ellen, I just have to say, my dad has that same suit in powder blue, and a mauvey color! I just had to laugh when I saw this! Note I said "has". We just barely took those suits to the thrift store last weekend. What a crack up!

Well, my DW just finished this outfit for DD to wear to CRT Breakfast. With this and the tshirts and countless other outfits, we could be stranded for a month, and DD wouldn't wear the same thing twice :rotfl: .

It is hard to pack for Florida in Feb. So, she packed a little bit of everything.

Beautiful! Have a wonderful trip! :hippie:

Glynis, my DH and some friends are going skiing in Utah at the end of the month. I opted to stay home to save money for our next Disney trip. If I would have known you were that close, I would have gone.

All of the DDA children are absolutely adorable....I just have to figure out how to post a pic....but my girls are a lot older than all that I have seen...espescially in the last couple of days!!
I feel old!!!

Teresa -- there are some of us "older" posters on here too ;) My DDs are 19 and 27 and they are gorgeous too! :rotfl:

My little boy is growing up. He has his first school dance tomorrow night. It isn't actually labelled as a 'dance', they call it Rock n Roll Night. Anyway, it is from 6:30 - 8:00 and is for the whole elem. school. The PTA uses it as a fundraiser, too. So my DH and I are volunteering for it. He gets to do hallway/bathroom monitoring and I am doing the snack table. This is going to be a riot!! Will I be the geeky mom if I take my camera??

Our PTO has an annual sock hop!! For the two weeks prior to the dance the kids music and PE time is spent learning the songs and dances of the 50's. A few years ago those teachers also took over being the DJ's so we just love going to the dance. Last year even in the middle of a snowstorm we had over 200 people participate.

No you are not a geeky mom for taking photos!! It's fun to take pictures and I am sure there will be plenty of moms and dads taking pics.

Thanks for that!! I am just feeling older than the hills lately and just not sure why. I know that I am a young mom(youngest 8th grade mom...that's what you get when God has a different plan than you...I had Cassidy when I was 20) but some days I just feel old and then others I feel 13.

I know Tinker1bell and Steffy and maybe a few others will get a kick out of these. I have lived in Pennsylvania plenty long enough to know most of these.

You know you're a true Pennsylvanian if... (and for you out-of-staters don't laugh, most of this is TRUE!!)
...You know who "Punxsutawney Phil" is, and what it means if he sees his
shadow....
Becky

OK... being from Punxsutawney I have to add...

Happy Groundhog Day!

I took these last year when we were there visiting our parents. FYI - My Dad was one of the Inner Circle (the men in top hats you all see on TV every year) for many years. This is such a fun time for my hometown!
