Good idea!!!! I would love to find some pom-pom fringe for around the bottom of the pants. I think I'll go to some fabric shops this weekend to look for some really funky stuff. Then, I'll head to the craft store for some tie dye stuff.

Yes, I didn't remember that before. Funky fringe around the bottom and patches (peace sign, love, etc.).

And one thing to remember about tie dye...wear rubber gloves!

I've done them all Lynn. My favorites for a large crowd like that would be Pooh or Chef Mickey. We had 8 at the Castle, but there was more interaction with the 8 of us at CP. Plus, the food was a buffet, so everyone had something they liked. The most I have had at CM was 5, but it was so much fun...

I forgot to answer the original before. We had 12 at Chef Mickey's for Miles' 3rd birthday (almost 4 years ago...where did my baby go? ) We had a blast there, and had a room almost to ourselves. The characters were great with our group. We picked Chef Mickey's, because we weren't sure who was going into the parks that day. That way no one had to pay park admission for dinner.

I thought about doing some tie dye shirts. Tell me, those of you who have done them; how hard are they? I know that the Mickey ones took some of you a long time. If I didn't have to sew the Mickey heads, just banded the shirts would it take a long time? Would a relative novice at this be able to handle it?

Also, for anyone who sews, I've been thinking about getting some old jeans at the thrift shop, slitting the side seam and adding some really funky fabric to make them bell bottoms. Would that work, do you think? I can picture it in my mind, but don't know if it would work when push comes to shove. Now if I could just find an afro wig for DH, it would be so perfect!

Glynis - I think if you were to do just regular tiedying it would not be nearly as difficult and time consuming as the Mickey heads. I think you can handle it, especially with the help of your kids. They would get a kick out of it.

The jeans idea sounds good too. Are you handy with a sewing machine or needle and thread? If not, since this is just a costume, you could probably get away with hot gluing the fabric, or using that stuff that you iron with that makes it stick together. Deb, I'm sure you know what this stuff is. I can't think of the name right now.

How about a headband thingy in matching fabric that you use on the jeans?

Denise and I have already planned Davis' and Julia's wedding at the GFWP - maybe it will be a double wedding!!!!!

Or a triple wedding! I have a few that could use some Disney loving spouses!!!

I wish I was done! I do have all of the matching shirts for the family done. But my wife wanted a couple of more for just in case. She is also burning the midnight oil making a couple of special outfits for her. She made the outfit that dd is wearing in my signature.
She has plans to do a Mickey/Minnie outfit, and a Princess dress for her.
She works best under pressure, so I know they will get done!

Tom -- WOW!! She made that outfit? TOO CUTE! You have such an amazing family. The way you talk about your wife and daughter brings tears to my eyes. They are as lucky to have you, as you feel you are to have them.

Have a FANTASTIC trip. You've worked hard to plan everything and now it's time to relax!

Tammi, remember I am right off I-95 in Florence, SC. I live 70 miles from Myrtle Beach. I think my pool will still be a little cool for Spring Break, but then it was 65 here all week. I tis always sunny here!!! I have a nice little guest room!!

That sounds like a great idea!

I was thinking of using some points at HHI for a few days, but was worried about the weather and it being warm enough to swim.

Garden Grill?? Is that in the Land Pavillion?? What characters did you get??

Yes -- I'll give you a quick answer until Queen Kate can fill in all the details. Garden Grill is in The Land. It slowly revolves around, and you can see parts of the ride if you stand up by the railing and look down. When we were there in December, we saw Chip N Dale, Mickey and Pluto.
