So how much more do you have to do?

are you all packed? are your shirts all done - oh yea - I forgot you bought them and made them a long time ago didn't you - I was up making 10 shirts the night before I left - thanks to Princess Nancy's last minute decision to join us and my refusal to let her kids feel left out!!!

what about your autograph pages? did you make cards for her pillow each night - do you have a binder? or a guidebook? or are you winging it?

Oh - I am so jealous!!

Darn it - I should have booked that ding fare!!

I wish I was done! I do have all of the matching shirts for the family done. But my wife wanted a couple of more for just in case. She is also burning the midnight oil making a couple of special outfits for her. She made the outfit that dd is wearing in my signature.
She has plans to do a Mickey/Minnie outfit, and a Princess dress for her.
She works best under pressure, so I know they will get done!

And, she just worked 12 hours today! But plans on taking it easy tomorrow.
That is why I love her so  she would do anything for our daughter and me.

I'm going to send a parcel to Marti at the end of this week so I'll be able to price up postage and packagin from my end then maybe I should go turkish delight shopping here... I do after all live in Bristol - home of the Frys Turkish Delight {I just had my wedding party at the social club at the Cadbury chocolate factory and it's called the Fry's club after the choc brand :)}

Hello all...

Just checking in...I haven't been around much and mostly likely won't be for a bit. My 91 year old father in law fell and is in the ICU.

:rotfl2: I just saw the image and not the rest of the post and assumed someone was asking for the designer...I was just about tosay hey that's one of Lady Lucca's... and then realised it was you asking about it! :rotfl2: Can't help with the map sorry - I did wear the WDW version of that design last trip though and loved it... I matched it up with the "I think I'll just follow my wife" shirt for DH

Also, for anyone who sews, I've been thinking about getting some old jeans at the thrift shop, slitting the side seam and adding some really funky fabric to make them bell bottoms. Would that work, do you think? I can picture it in my mind, but don't know if it would work when push comes to shove. Now if I could just find an afro wig for DH, it would be so perfect!

Glynis - My friend and I went to a fancy dress party last year dressed as Justin from the Darkness (english rock band). We took some jeans and cut them up the side with scissors and then added some fabric to make them into bellbottoms (shh we stapled the fabric on as we only needed them for one night and neither of us could sew!) We actually cut them all the way up to the thigh and then we made some tassles with some leather cord and threaded on beads and a feather on the end and then attached these to the jeans with safety pins at intevals - holding the sides together in the process. I wish I had a photo as they looked cool, and very 70s!

Do you guys not have fancy dress (costume party) shops? We have quite a few over here and they all sell afros and other funky wigs.

Lynn -

I would vote for Ohana's for a resort meal- yummy food! or Garden Grill -

Garden Grill is our favorite meal - it is usually empty - and we got AWESOME character interaction there!!

Garden Grill?? Is that in the Land Pavillion?? What characters did you get??

Well I guess I just had my own little posting frenzy at 7am in the morning. To bad there were no special milestones to claim.

Good idea!!!! I would love to find some pom-pom fringe for around the bottom of the pants. I think I'll go to some fabric shops this weekend to look for some really funky stuff. Then, I'll head to the craft store for some tie dye stuff.

Keep the ideas comin'!

Glynis -- I was in college in the late 60s and early 70s and I never wore a tie-dyed shirt. I wore jeans (bell bottoms and not) onto which I embroidered flowers and peace signs, etc. I also wore what we called work shirts. I had chambray colored ones and dark green ones and navy ones. I think that they could be found in Walmart or Target or someplace like that. Probably in the men's "uniform" area.

I wore Dr. Scholl's sandals every single day, but many friends wore clogs. My hair was stick straight and down to my waist and my glasses were granny type in style. Oh, and dopn't forget the love beads!! In fact... this looks a lot like me back then :hippie:

In general, I think that many of the styles that we hippies wore back then are now commonplace in everyday wear. It would be hard for you NOT to look right in just about anything you can find.

Spencer gifts might have peace sign things or even a place like Claire's possibly. I bet a place like Party City or a costume shop would have an Afro wig too.

I thought about doing some tie dye shirts. Tell me, those of you who have done them; how hard are they? I know that the Mickey ones took some of you a long time. If I didn't have to sew the Mickey heads, just banded the shirts would it take a long time? Would a relative novice at this be able to handle it?

Also, for anyone who sews, I've been thinking about getting some old jeans at the thrift shop, slitting the side seam and adding some really funky fabric to make them bell bottoms. Would that work, do you think? I can picture it in my mind, but don't know if it would work when push comes to shove. Now if I could just find an afro wig for DH, it would be so perfect!

Tie dye shirts aren't tricky at all, especially if you aren't trying to sew a particular design. My kids do them. I recommend a tie dye kit that will have everything you need right in it. The one that I bought the first time I tried tie dying has great directions, too. It was by Jacquard and looks like this:

If you go to the michaels.com website and search on tie dye, you'll get some project ideas, too.

I missed the second part of this before. I did that with jeans for my daughter once. Yes, it does work. Slit up the outseam and inseam and insert triangles of fabric.
