Okay guys - unless I missed someone else calling it - I am calling dibs on 5000!!!

Just kidding. I don't care at all, it's yours! But I'm not so sure about the 50+ posting parties that we held before just to get to a particular milestone. Although maybe that's how our monster thread was so monstrous!

Nick was always a good sleeper - I learned my lesson about babying him with Julia - but he threw himself out of the crib at 11 months - by 18 months he was regularly jumping out - for his own safety I had to put him in the big boy bed - he has not transitioned well and I always end up babying him - now he seems to like sleeping on our floor - which to me is a step up from the bed!! Maybe it is time I try tough love!! Problem with him (and Julia) is that they have the willpower to cry for over an hour and both of them usually end up throwing up!!

We moved to a 2-level home when my Nicholas was 3, going on 4. Well, he must not have liked sleeping so far away from the living room, where we would be watching tv. So he would creep out of bed and down the stairs. It got to the point where we had to baby gate him in his room. We had a few screaming/crying sessions, but eventually he would tire himself out and fall asleep. Parenting does not come with handbooks, and I took the advice of others when I had my first, and that is to get them on a sleep schedule/system as soon after birth as you can. Mine were always put in bed awake, in their own bedroom. Even for naps.

I, for one, am QUITE appreciative! As long as it still feels like home, I don't mind not having 30+ pages to catch up on if I miss a day!

Oh, I don't think it was a decided thing. We wouldn't decide anything without our queen! I think it was just metioned in passing and then I don't think anyone has yet.... you're absolutely right though, 5000 is big. So have at it!

Well, and also it's different that it was less than 20 away or something. We would get to that while you're on anyway! It just got harder to keep track when we had like 10 in a row "claimed", and then we'd start posting parties earlier and earlier, to where we'd be posting 100 posts just to get somewhere!

I don't mind either way, it was fun. It just got nuts sometimes!

Not technically. The actual "certified" match list isn't due until like the 23rd or something. We just found that out, which was a relief! We pretty much have an idea, but have a few that get switched around. It will look SOMETHING like this:

1) Cincinnati
2) Christiana Care (Delaware)
3),4),5) Loyola (chicago), Ohio State, Minneapolis (can't decide which order)
6)-10) (which will certainly not be in this exact order): Rush (chicago), U. Illinois, U. Maryland, St Louis, U. Missouri

I wish the day would come sooner though! I have some days where I'm excited, but most days I'm pulling my hair out! We might even make a few last minute trips to some areas for a second look.

Nancy's DH matched in Detroit and they moved the summer before I had Julia - I was like a second mom to her kids - it ripped my heart out!!

She does pretty well now, but she looks at the aspect of visiting us wherever as a vacation, etc.... and I dont think she's really thinking we'll match anywhere but Cincinnati since we both want it so bad, and she'd hate for us to be disappointed.

She'll probably not do well when it happens though, if we move.... she cried for WEEKS when I moved into school.....an hour away!

PS - Im' done now, for fear of stealing 5000!
