Hi everyone!

Is everyone done shopping yet???

I ran out this am for the last of the stocking stuffers..toothpaste, spin tooth brushes, lipgloss/chapstick & that sort of thing....while I was on line at Walmart I heard a Christmas song I had never heard of but was some how familiar...can you guess what it was????????

Well, I'm feeling better today but still not 100%. The conference call was fine but thank goodness it is over. I am in the process of sorting through paperwork to get my office cleaned up. My team are coming on Thursday for a meeting and Christmas party and some of them have never seen it before. After work, I think I'm feeling well enough to get some decorating done as well.

I have a couple of presents bought but don't even know where I'm at with them. We aren't giving the kids much this year. Probably mostly money. They started getting rid of stuff as well and don't want any more. My present is getting to go to Disney.

Beings we are not going to Disney for Garrett's birthday , Garrett has decided that he would like a party at the community center. He went to a party there last week & really enjoyed himself.

It only cost $10 an hour to rent & this includes tables & full use of the kitchen. The only problem, Garrett would like to have a DJ & I have no idea how to go about finding one.

Also we would have to schedule this for after his birthday. I do not have enough time to get this planned out & invitations made before school lets out for the holidays.

I suppose we could always just take a stereo with us & play cd's, but I would like to make this special for him. Oh what to do, what to do

I'd start with the local radio station. I know several of ours have a DJ service as a way to make extra money.

Ok people. Obviously the DDA update thread didn't go over very well. I wanted to give it a couple months to see if people would use it. I heard from a couple that said they had trouble updating such a short thread with personal info. Since this thread is so fast moving, someone has to really want to be reading along with us to read the personal info.

I'm worried about a couple of people that haven't posted in a while. I know Christmas is a busy time of year but some were having issues before they stopped posting so I'm especially concerned.

Since the DDA update thread didn't go over real well, Kate had a great idea that I'd like to try. She created a DDA Updates userid. The way this will work is that you pm your update to DDA Updates. There will be several people that will have the password. Once a week or so, the DDA Updates userid will post the updates to the main thread.

When you don't have time to read everything on the thread, you'll just do a search for all posts by DDA Updates. This would have all the important updates to read to catch up with the major stuff. Kate has offered to put a hidden link in the first post on this thread that does the search. Only those of us that read regularly would know that it was there.

What do you all think? I'm working on the first post by DDA Updates. If you want to make sure something is added for you, please send a pm to "DDA UPDATES". Thanks.

Do you have a Radio Disney outlet??? The one here in Denver rents out their local DJ's. Otherwise look up in the phone book under DJ's or Music, Entertainment....if worse comes to worse have an adult, other than you, put the discs on.

Do you happen to know a high school or college student who has a laptop or desktop loaded with lots of different music and a set of speakers?? They might even be willing to set up some games and activities for the kids. That would probably be your cheapest bet, to get someone special in, so yoiu are not manning the music. Good luck whatever your decision my be.

For our Girl Scout luau in January they are hiring a DJ for $200 for the night, I said there are several of us who could have done it for free and our troop had offered to teach the girls dances and plan activities but they went with the DJ. Better yet there is a lady who does hula lessons and will perform for $100, which in my opinion better fits the theme, than a normal DJ but whatever. Sorry to hijack your search for a DJ.

Speaking about updates: I PMed with Angela (poohangel) this week, Faith is 4 months old and they are doing very well. If you do a search for Poohangel you can see some cute pics of Faith in her signature.

I like that idea although I know sometimes the search feature does not work all that great on this board.
What about if there are a few people who keep track of the events going on in people lives and then post with the list of names and the going ons in their lives. The people who are keeping track could post in the updates thread occasionally, so those that are busy don't have to come into the monster thread. Anyways how do you search within a thread for posts by a single user as I don't know how to do this?? That's why Kate said she would put a hidden link in the 1st post of this thread so no one has to know how to search for them. To find posts by a particular person, you have to find a post by the person (or their profile). You click on their username and select Find All Posts by user.

People didn't want their personal info in the short thread so I don't know whether that would work.

Lets just say my brain isn't functioning very well today and I completly read your original post differently that what it says, after rereading I see what it says and think my idea won't work.
