Do you have an older computer Glynis? It could be a memory issue. Are you shutting down just the scanner or the computer for 15 minutes? I know I had the same problem when I had my scanner connected to my older computer that didn't have much memory. You might want to get a feeling for how many pictures you can do before it acts up and then just "restart" your computer after that many pictures but before it acts up.

Thanks for the advice. Yup, it's an older computer. I did what you suggested and it saved me some headaches. I'm glad that project is over. Now, Alan just has to upload all the pics to a card and I can get the frame to my parents.

Well, look at it this way...you get to sit and DIS longer.....

Yup. In fact, I left for a while and went to Costco. Sometimes it helps to sweep the cobwebs away. This afternoon I'm making more peanut brittle and baking some of the cookies I have frozen. I also should fold the laundry and put it away. So much to do!

The book store was fine. I bought a DVD for one frined, 2 books for the other. I bought a Wiggles book box set for Brother and some sort of princess book set thing with a tutu for Sister. DS talked me into a magic kit, but he has to wait until Christmas to have it. We stopped by Sears and bought a few things for DH - pants for work, some long sleeved T's to go under his work polos in case it ever gets cold. We also hit the Hallmark store and got some cards for DH, my mom, etc.

My mom is living with her sister (my aunt) for awhile. My mom needs to figure out what she is going to do now that my father isn't alive to instruct her what to do every waking minute, and that is a very slow process. I sent one of my plain photo cards to my aunt. Now my mother is insulted that I didn't send one to her. I told her I will send her a "Grandma" card along with her other things, but if she really wants a plain card I will send one of those, too. Then she got snarky and told me not to bother. My mom is a bit of an odd duck. And I still have NO clue what to send her. She returns everything, so the obvious choice is a gift card. But she will probably let my sister spend the card instead of spending it herself, so that defeats the purpose. I will send my sister her own gift card - she doesn't need my mother's.

I'm not sure where I'm going from here. I go back to the chiropractor on thursday for a follow up. The internist will see me on Wednesday if I choose to make an appointment, but I think she is just going to send me to get a lung x ray and I have absolutely no breathing concerns. I may just call her again rather than going up. I think that I won't have any good answers until after I meet with the urologist on Jan 2. I will definitely call her though as I will be out of pain meds soon.

Becky, what reflux med did they put you on again? I may ask her about it. It couldn't hurt.

I got an appointment with a chiropractor this morning. I was a bit out of alignment, but he was overall impressed with my spine. He made a slight adjustment in the area that has been troubling me and I thought that it took care of the problem, but about 1/2 hour after I got home the pain came back with avengance. So far I have just taken ibruprophen, but I may need to take the big guns soon. He was able to access the CT scan that I had done the other day and agreed that nothing looks abnormal. So what is causing this? I am so frustrated. I had a hard time sleeping last night as the pain meds seem to make me wired and I never really fell asleep until 4 AM. He suggested that we get a new mattress as we've had this one for at least 13 years.

How frustrating for you! This is just really bizarre! I sure hope you can get an earlier appointment! It's nuts that you are in this much pain for this long and they can't/won't work you in earlier! I'll keep you in my prayers!

I should let Chris give you the recipe, it is one recipe that he knows

Separate an oreo cookie keeping the side with the cream. We used cherry chocolates for the body, but you can dip stemmed cherries into chocolate to make the body. We melted chocolate chips in the microwave and used the melted chocolate to fuse a Hershey's Kiss to the Cherry Chocolate. We used pumpkin seeds for the ears, but sliced almonds could have been used instead. We also fused mini cherry chips to the kiss for eyes. We used licorice whips for the tails and those were attached with the melted chocolate too. A little more melted chocolate to attach the mouse to the oreo. Then a little green frosting and a few more cherry chips for decoration and they are done. Very easy and fun for the whole family. It took us about an hour to make 40.

Thank you all for the Christmas cards that I have received so far. It really means alot to us all!

Vicki, I received your card today too! All I can say is, that it really touched me! Thank you for doing this!

It is so nice to have such a great group of people to be associatied with. My wife finally "gets" it. She is also blown away by all the kindness that this group has shown. I think I am rubbing off on her, she actually ordered Disney checks this time around, without even telling me. What a nice surprise when I opened the boxes to see my favorite characters staring right back at me.

I have come very close to ordering Disney checks myself. I don't know that I'll be able to hold out much longer.

I was just reading the Mouse Planet update and now I see why MGM doesn't carry Wiggles merchandise anymore! They have signed with Six Flags to have "Wiggles World" areas! Shame, shame! Of course Six Flags is much closer for us to take Brother, but that's not really the point.
