Anyone know how many grandkids June had? I am sending something to Melanie and wanted to make sure that I have one for each of the kids. I show she had 3 teenage grandchildren but only have the name of one - Tanya. Any ideas out there?

I think I am headed to bed. Brother & I ran around like headless chickens today and it is catching up with me! I did pick up some gifts for DS's teachers at Bath & Body, but I need to go to Dollar Tree for gift bags. I also want to get a $10 Target card for each teacher. I forgot DS's one teacher has a teaching assistant, so I should get a small gift for her as well. One of the moms is doing a little treat buffet for the teachers on Friday so I might try to bake a pan of brownies or something Thursday night. And I bet Momboss will need Hanukkah gifts for the preschool teachers, too. Hopefully they will let Brother stay at school tomorrow since he has been to the Dr. I can accomplish much more by myself than I can with his "help".

The doctor said Joe's ears are clear. He is congested in the chest and had a red throat but the strep came back negative. So he's all set to fly.

I got my Christmas photos in the mail today so I should try to get at least some of those done and finish packing and I even sent work home.

Thanks! I am pleased, just a little concerned about the start date for school. Our trip this year ended on Saturday and school started on Monday. If all goes as planned the 2007 trip will end on Friday and DS will start to school on Monday, so he will have an extra day to rest this time.

My mother bought that for Matthew, too, but he never read it. Dh did. He said that it was good, though the fact that the author was a teenager "explained a few things." I'm not sure exactly what...maybe the writing was a little less complex than he is used to.

A friend of mine has a dd 13 who loved it and couldn't wait until Eldest came out.

I haven't read it yet.

The author was 15 when he wrote it and 19 when it was published. He is in his early-mid 20's now.

There are 13 books in the series. The 13th just came out a short time ago and is titled "The End". I got it for Becky for Christmas. She loved that series. I tried to read it and couldn't stand it myself. Didn't like the movie much either. However, my now 18 year old daughter thinks it is fantastic.

My Abi loves the series and is wanting the 13th book.....she is not a repeat reader so I am waiting for it to come in paperback.

I'm Vicki and I'm 45. I'm married to Chuck and we have two DD's - 18 & 21. I live in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We are 1 mile from the Wisconsin border. And I'm a Disney Design Addict!

OK, DDA! The bids are finished!!

We got (drumroll, please) our second choice! We are now booked at WL August 15-24. Our free dining ressie changed over, no problem!

Now for the POSSIBLE complications:
DS SHOULD start back to school Aug. 27 because they passed new legislation mandating all TX public schools start no earlier than Aug. 27. If they start earlier we are in trouble. If they start Aug. 20 we would lose half our vacation. If they start Aug. 13 we are squashed like bugs.

The other complication is that DS is starting middle school and I imagine if they have an orientation he will miss it, because they will do it the week before school starts. (Assuming school starts Aug. 27.) There is no info on the district website for '07-'08 yet.

DH's other week is Easter. Since we are going to WDW in February and since Easter is crowded and expensive I think we won't go that weekend. DS might have Friday and Monday IF there are no ice days before then. If he gets the days off we might go visit my mom.

Hooray! It sounds like things are working out. Now we'll just cross our fingers about the school schedule!

Well, it looks like I won't be going to work tomorrow. Nicholas just threw up all over the carpet. He runs out of his bedroom and stops at the top of the stairs calling for me, instead of running to the bathroom. But in his defense, he probably hasn't vomited since he was about 2, so it's scary for him. I have a feeling he just ate too much and stuffed himself. At least that's what I hope. He went to karate tonight and acted completely normal. But he did complain about his stomach hurting when he went to bed. He is now sleeping with me. Send pixie dust that he doesn't throw up in my bed!!!

I need some book suggestions for my nephew. He loves to read books like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, ect. Help!

Nick (11) is reading the Keys to the Kingdom by Garth Nix and he is raving about it. This is coming from my non reader mind you. I have actually seen him sit down and read for pleasure lately. He also liked Harry Potter and is waiting for the last one to come out.

I agree! I am not much of a TV watcher but last night as I was watching the Food Channel there was a commercial that they ran OVER and OVER and OVER. The only thing that was good about it was that there is a little girl in it that looks like Olivia! It was a commercial for Manwich. Has anyone else seen it?

I can relate I have had horrible reflux, heart burn and felt nauseous all day.
