Good morning, DDA!

Ellen, I'm so glad that your DIL and new granddaughter are doing so well!

Tammi, Alyssa is beautiful and you took some gorgeous photos!

Jennifer, I love all of your Disney photos! The one of Olivia watching the parade is absolutely stunning!

Marci, you've been in my prayers.

Thanks for all the compliments on my Christmas card front.

I have to go prep a few things for school this morning. Have a great day!

Beth

of course, mine says "Elin" ;)

Tammi - I love the ballet pictures of Alyssa! She is just precious.

Janet - congrats on booking your Christmas 2007 trip. Let's hope I am there too!

Deb - please give my best wishes to Hunter and Chris on their new belts. That is awesome!

Good morning :sunny: It is suppose to be in the 50's today! It rained last night & almost all our snow is gone. I don't want what we got a couple weeks ago, but a light dusting Christmas eve would be perfect.

Deb tell Hunter & Chris congratulations!

Anne Marie have a wonderful time with your DD today!

I hope the polls go up soon, I am anxious to see the top 12 gowns. Good luck to you all!

I'm off to bed too. I have a terrible sore throat and have been coughing all day. Take care. I can't wait to see the top dresses tomorrow.
Hope you feel better today, Vicki. Try Airborne!

Thanks, Janet. I started to cry! Luckily they know me really well so they knew they were happy tears.

And, good morning! :wave2:

Thanks Debbie, Beth and Elin.

I, too, am anxiously awaiting the red carpet results. I'm sure there has to be some DDA members on it.

Hi, all. I haven't heard anything else from Marci today. I have my class Christmas concert/party today, but I'll try to check my BB for updates and post. Have a good day!

okay..i think my little posting party is over! I ended up going down to my friend kims house (kimwim8) for a bit..i had so much fun and it was nice to get out!

Im a bit awake now and working on some homework...i cant believe im doing homework at 130am!

Tomorrow i have the day off to work on some last papers and things ...My student teaching teacher called me tonight and i will be meeting with her Friday at 11--she seemed so nice on the phone, b ut im still nervous.

Im not sure whats going on with my boyfriend, but seems like something is wrong...its really bothering me, especially since hes up at school and i havent seen him in awihle..im hoping its just hes stressed with the end of classes, but i dunno ..

Other than that, hope you guys have a great night!

Jen- You will do wonderful. :thumbsup2 My advice is when you meet the teacher to ask her for them class rules and the expectations they have for you. Also if you are meeting them while the students are in class, try to observe the different behaviors and techniques they are using to get their attention, quiet them down, etc. Also try and observe how they starts their day, where she keeps supplies, etc. These things will be important for when you are in charge of the class so you don't have to constantly ask where things are kept and how to do certain things.

Also if you have an internship coordinator get to know them as much as possible early on in the semester, that will be a big help in case something happens during the semester that they are not just relying on their formed opinion of you and have an actual opinion from having met and talked with you. Good luck, :wizard: and :grouphug: I know you will be fantastic and do a great job. :thumbsup2

As for your boyfriend, I hope he stops behaving oddly and that you can figure things out. :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug:

I have to head to work, so I will not see the polls till later :guilty: Keep an eye out DDA! I agree with Tammi some of the DDA should make it & I want them to win!!!!!!!!!!

Have a good day all!

Good morning, DDA! :)

Vicki - I hope you are feeling better! If you need an event so you can buy a gown I can usually find one. ;) My favorite is the Black Tie Dinner. That's why I have all my formal wear.

Ellen - I am so happy your DGD is home! I hope mom & baby continue to do well!

Anne marie - Our mail is ALWAYS late. The post office claims it has something to do with us being in an apartment, and the carriers need to finish their house to house deliveries before they do us so the carriers aren't walking around in the dark. Since our mailboxes are all in one big block inside a locked gate they figure he is safer in there after dark. PERHAPS he might consider getting an earlier start?

Janet - Congrats on the Christmas trip!! That is so exciting! I wish we were going back for Christmas next year. But the stupid school calendar isn't out, and the end of December is blacked out for DH, so that doesn't look promising.

Deb - Congrats to Chris & Hunter! :thumbsup2

Well, this is it! Vacation bid day! :bitelip:

Unfortunately neither one of us feels very positive about it. At least when it is over we will know which 2 weeks we have to work with. DH says he will try for April and October if he can't get any of the weeks I marked for him. That would give us the weekend in Feb, a weekend in October, and the big trip in August for DS & me with DH joining in the last 2 days. Definitely NOT the best use of time and money, but better than staying home all year! I hate to pay all that money for airfare and only stay for 3 days, but desperate times call for desperate measures! ;)

Good luck on the vacation bids, Elizabeth and hubby!

off to do lesson plans and go teach... enjoy your days!

WOW - post 6500!

Elin Congrats on 6500. I've got a big one coming up soon too. Of course I can attribute most of my posts to this thread :thumbsup2

Marci's mom passed away around 9:15pm last night very peacefully. Visitation for family is tomorrow night and the funeral is Thursday. They are still going to Disney on Friday. I talked to Marci this am, and she sounded very good. I will keep you posted.

Doctor said if the pain went away not to worry about it..im still not feeling 100% but im almost there! Thanks for worrying :goodvibes:
THank you for the vote of confidence on thes tudent teaching..im petrified!

Just between you and me (and the rest of the DDA, too), student teaching terrified me! I was assigned to do my student teaching in the English/Drama department of a VERY tiny high school. We're talking, the senior class had 12 members!!! Even though it was so tiny, I was out of my mind scared!!! Alan had to take the day off work to drive me, as I was shaking so badly, I couldn't even put my makeup on! The drive took 25 minutes, and the whole time, I kept saying, "I changed my mind! I don't want to do this!" Alan kept reassuring me that it would be fine. He dropped me off, and then he stayed there waiting for me the whole day. Of course, once I got inside the school, and got that first class behind me, all was fine! I actually grew to enjoy it! Except the days that my professors came to "judge" my teaching!

You're going to be just fine! You're so prepared, and you have such an enthusiasm for teaching! The students are going to be so lucky to have you!
