Unfortunately neither one of us feels very positive about it. At least when it is over we will know which 2 weeks we have to work with. DH says he will try for April and October if he can't get any of the weeks I marked for him. That would give us the weekend in Feb, a weekend in October, and the big trip in August for DS & me with DH joining in the last 2 days. Definitely NOT the best use of time and money, but better than staying home all year!I hate to pay all that money for airfare and only stay for 3 days, but desperate times call for desperate measures!

ReAnSt said:Jen- You will do wonderful. My advice is when you meet the teacher to ask her for them class rules and the expectations they have for you. Also if you are meeting them while the students are in class, try to observe the different behaviors and techniques they are using to get their attention, quiet them down, etc. Also try and observe how they starts their day, where she keeps supplies, etc. These things will be important for when you are in charge of the class so you don't have to constantly ask where things are kept and how to do certain things.
Also if you have an internship coordinator get to know them as much as possible early on in the semester, that will be a big help in case something happens during the semester that they are not just relying on their formed opinion of you and have an actual opinion from having met and talked with you. Good luck, and
I know you will be fantastic and do a great job.

We're talking, the senior class had 12 members!!! Even though it was so tiny, I was out of my mind scared!!! Alan had to take the day off work to drive me, as I was shaking so badly, I couldn't even put my makeup on! The drive took 25 minutes, and the whole time, I kept saying, "I changed my mind! I don't want to do this!" Alan kept reassuring me that it would be fine. He dropped me off, and then he stayed there waiting for me the whole day. Of course, once I got inside the school, and got that first class behind me, all was fine! I actually grew to enjoy it! Except the days that my professors came to "judge" my teaching!
You're going to be just fine! You're so prepared, and you have such an enthusiasm for teaching! The students are going to be so lucky to have you!

What wonderful news!ellenbenny said:I wanted to post an update on our DGD. Our DIL was discharged on Friday, and our granddaughter was discharged yesterday after only 5 days instead of 7. She is doing great!
They had to take her to her pediatrician's office today and tomorrow to get her last 2 antibiotic shots to complete the full 7 days, but they were able to take her home because she was doing so well.
Everyone is doing fine and we were able to take my in-laws to see their great granddaughter on Saturday, and I think we made their whole year. They were soooo happy to live long enough to see a great grandchild, they couldn't stop talking about it.
Thanks for all the good thoughts and PD.
