It seems they are NOT opening up sunrise safari to be booked by any AKL guest. I spoke to Dining, they patched me through to IPO at AKL. The lady there told me that at the discretion of the Concierge Manager they MIGHT allow other guests to go on the safari if it is not full. She said right now there are plenty of spaces for the date I want, but I can't book. She suggested I ask about it when we check in and if there are still plenty of spots we might be allowed to go. So there you have it! I guess we'll see what happens!

I actually set up a character for that game yesterday as I actually could load it with my new HSI :teeth: I got into the game and had absolutely no idea what to do. Needless to say I didn't stay long. Someone will have to give me pointers if I'm going to play there.

Deb

I remember the first time I logged in. I think I stayed about 5 minutes. It does get addicting, and I don't have nearly enough time to do all the creative things that others do. I love the fireworks game, but only one of our computers is fast enough to play it on.

My other problem is that I have more access to the computer before 10:00 am (EST) than after, so my prime playing time is unavailable.

I might be on in the morning before we leave. If not see you all on Wed. Dec 6th.

Have a terrific trip!!! How exciting! The next best thing to being in Disney is thinking about someone else having a wonderful trip!

How timely that this one makes it's rounds at about finals time!! :teeth:

Cassidy was thrilled yesterday...she actually got an E from her math teacher!! He's the one that grades funny...so funny there really isn't an ABC equivalent and he's unwilling to change....He's a woodpecker!!

That is a bit odd, but I've known teachers like that. How does the school figure his grades for quality points, etc? I wouldn't think that the school would allow him to use non-standard grades.

Matthew's report card just came. He certainly doesn't have to worry about using that letter!

Well, it appears that the sunRISE safari is very different than the sunSET safari. The one the lady was reporting about on AllEars is the sunSET. That one doesn't leave the Lodge. You go in a van (handicapped accessible) around the savannahs of the Lodge, then you go to dinner at Jiko. It is a set menu and you dine with the others from the safari group. $150 per person.

The one I want is the sunRISE safari where you go on Kilamanjaro Safari before the park opens, then you have breakfast at Tusker House. $55 per person.

Either way, they are both listed as available to concierge only. But really, if they have space available and I am waving $165 at them I would imagine they would allow us to go along. :confused3

Hi, Beth!
Yay Matthew! :cool1: I love good report cards!

DH made a comment to DS last night that he is shocked that I don't play VMK. There is a little part on the new planning DVD about the game. But our lovely dial-up wouldn't be able to handle the game, and I spend way too much time here as it is! :rotfl:

I hope that you get to go! I was toying with a concierge stay at AKL to get dd the sunrise safari on her birthday trip, but we just couldn't spend the extra money, and I wasn't willing to drop anything else. Here's some :wizard: that there is space available for you!

I bet you once you get to the resort and if they have the availability they would allow you to go. They most likely do not want to tell you know you can go because their might be concierge guests who have yet to book their extras such as these. Believe me there are lots of people who do not plan very far in advance. Since the special safaris are for concierge guests Disney probably will not let others book them to allow for late booking concierge guests. Once trips have started and space is still available I am sure Disney would be more than happy to have your money.

Just a heads up to everyone, if you do your sunrise safari on an Animal Kingdom early entrance morning others will already be on the safari when you go to have your safari.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!

Just a heads up, disney shopping has their snow globes & pins on sale. You can also use code DISNEY25 for an extra 25% off!

Elizabeth good luck with the safari, I really hope you can book it :wizard:

I thought the Sunrise Safari was for AKL guest only .....that the Wildlife Discovery Excursion Safari was for concierge guests only (That's the one we are on (December 5th 10 am) At least that's what the concierge people told me
