hi everyone-
I just found out my grandmother will be getting surgery in the near future...her coratid artery is 80% blocked..we have to wait 2 weeks for something (not sure what) and then they schedule the surgery...
i dont have a good feeling about this and have been crying all night...plus, im sick and cant stop being sick...and i HAVE to go to class tomorrow..

if you guys could keep my grandma in your prayers,id appreciaet it

Jo - I don't know anything about Universal, but that sounds like a fabulous value! And I do think the entertainment is geared a bit more to older kids and adults, so Ramiro might like it.

Tammi - If you PM the best number to reach you I will call you from WDW! ;)

Becky - Great job on your project!!

Vicki - I'm glad you found everything you needed to do your shirts! Have a safe trip!

Karen - Oh, just wait. Some big drama will drop in your lap and you will have to deal wiht it before your trip. At least that's what happens to me.

DS just told us about something that happened at school today. :furious:
Apparently instead of actually doing any sort of physical activity in PE these days the kids are given sports cards. They have to write up a paragraph about the person on their card. First of all, how lame is that? But I digress...

DS had a football card with some player for the Panthers. He asked the PE teacher if they are a Texas team. She responded with "Hmm. Panthers, Cowboys. I don't think so! Can anybody tell him what state the Panthers are from? Maybe you should ask your dad. But he would freak out if he knew you didn't know the answer!" WHAT THE HE!! WAS THAT?!

DS was so sad when he was telling me! He said he just asked a simple question and she made fun of him in front of all the other kids! I don't like that woman, DH doesn't like her, and now she is ridiculing our child? :furious: Sports are not a priority in our family, and how dare she presume to tell MY child what his father would think of him not knowing what state a football team is from?!

Ordinarily I would go to the principal with it, but thanks to the lawsuit I am afraid she has larger issues. Like a bunch of idiots calling for her to be terminated. I asked DS what he wants to do, and he isn't sure. He finally told DH to go talk to the PE teacher. So it looks like DH and I will be going to school with DS in the morning to have a discussion with the PE teacher about being respectful of the students and not assuming that everybody is a sports fan. Obviously there are 2 sides to every story and I am sure she will spin it around somehow. Perhaps we will take DS wiht us to speak to her. That might be better than us going without him.

What do you all think?

That is crazy!! No one should be expected to know what every team is and then to be ridiculed for it is insane. I hope that you have a successful meeting with the teacher tomorrow.

I think taking DS in with you would be a good idea. Then maybe you can ALL discuss the issue and come to a resolution that satisfies everyone. Good luck.

Evening all.
Been a busy week.
It's 10:00 PM here.
I just now had time to get on.
Ramiro wireless connection went out.
Tried to fix it.
No luck.
Had to go back to a cable & ethernet cable.
Oh well at least he has his internet back.
So how is everyones Christmas shopping going?
Don't flame me.
I'm thinking about getting Universal AP.
They have a Florida resident special now.
3 extra months free with a AP.
So for $179.00 you get 15 months both parks & free parking.
Ramiro is really bugging me for Universal.
Does anyone know anything about Universal?

Um, yeah sometimes Burger King or other fast food restaurants had coupons for a second year free for Florida residents, I think it used to be January or February. Although maybe they have changed it to the 15 months, it has been over a year since I lived in Florida.

It has many more thrill type rides than WDW. Not really much for little kids, although I think it has more no. I know that isn't an issue for you as Ramiro is older. I think Ramiro would like it, its not Disney but still has some good stuff. Two parks areas Islands of Adventure which is newer Dueling Drgaons, Fear Factor Stunt show, Dr. Doom's Free Fall, Ripsaw Falls, Jurassic Park water ride, Suess land, Hulk, UNiversal Studios section has Twister, ET, Shrek, Revenge of the Mummy, Men In Black, Jaws, Back to the Future, Terminator

Thanks!
DS already has some self esteem issues because he is so tiny. He isn't into sports, and that is FINE with us. He is also very self conscious about asking questions. For him to work up enough nerve to ask a question in class is HUGE, then she makes fun of him? DS said himself that he kids are there to LEARN, not to be made fun of! :guilty: I sort of expect him to be bullied by other kids because that is the world we live in, but not by a TEACHER!

Jen - there is a mother of one of the girls in Alyssa's ballet class who just went through this with her MIL. I want to say the woman is around 80, if I remember correctly, and hers was 90% blocked. She had the surgery and was out of the hospital in just a few days. From what she told me the biggest complaint that the MIL had was that her bandage was pinching her skin! She is up and around and just as ornery as ever. If you have any questions, let me know and I can ask when I see her on Monday. Your grandmother will be in my prayers.

:grouphug: So what state are the Panthers from? :confused3 We're not sports minded here either.

Keep your fingers crossed, my designs are still at PB. Of course, I probably just jinxed myself. ;)

Haven't been to US since college, but have heard great things about the rides. Sounds like a good deal.

I *think* North Carolina, but I could be wrong. :confused3 DH wasn't interested in discussing that - he is furious.

:wizard: I hope Photo Bucket doesn't send the copyright police after your designs!!

Jen- Take some deep breaths and relax, I know easier said than done. :grouphug: :grouphug: Sending :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that you feel better soon. You have alot on your plate, try not to worry about it as there really isn't anything that you can do about your Grandma but pray and spend some time with her. I know this is also easier said than done. The DDA will be here to get you through this, we will send you all the prayers, :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug: that we can muster. Sending more prayers and :wizard: :wizard: that the Dr's will know what to do and that your Grandma's surgery is successful. :grouphug: Take some more deep breaths.
