I was very surprised to see the wide range of gowns that the DDA has chosen. I think we've got every style covered so hopefully at least one of us will get to walk the red carpet. I love that Elin is wearing a pant suit. Very daring.

Did you see the emerald green gown that was just posted. I love it.

Gawsh   I'm flattered. :teeth:
I love your dress too, Deb. In fact, younger DD Kristin had a prom gown a LOT like the dress you chose! Corseted back and all...

I actually had a prom dress that was fairly similar too. I had an antique velvet corset top and made a royal blue full skirt with black lace trim. I really loved it. I guess my style hasn't changed much in 20 years :rotfl: I look at all the really sexy dress, the ones that you can't wear a bra with and think "man they must have had work done cause mine wouldn't stay up there like that" :rotfl: Those dresses just would work for me.

I have three sets of batteries. As long as I have access to a charger every night, I've only every used 2 sets in one day.

Beth
I have 4 sets of Sony rechargeable AA batteries, I found with my Sony camera they were the only thing that really lasts. I had treid other rechargeables I had and they just didn't last or work well. I got one set with each of my Sony camera and then I bought 2 sets of Sony rechargeables.

I have 2 gigs of memory that I carry with me as well. If my camera took larger than 5.1mp I would probably carry a 3rd gig stick with me. I dump these each night into a new folder on the laptop. Once they are safely on the computer I merge each days folders and put the day folders into a trip folder which contains all the trips folders. They are burned onto a DVD RW each night.

Why all the safety precautions, :confused3 :confused3 The night I got off the Wonder, in September 2005 my brother was dumping the last pics from our cruise and our day at Downtown Disney onto the laptop into one big folder, well there was an error and the whole screen went to blue and all the pictures in the folder something like 1500, disappeared even though it was divided into subcategories. The computer still worked without issues and nothing else was gone just all the pictures from that folder.

Luckily once we got home, with a harddrive recovery program we were able to recover all but about 100 pictures. Ever since the extra precautions have been in place just in case.

Today my mailbox was full of surprises from the DDA! :goodvibes

Thank you Steffy and Terry for the postcards and thank you Deb and Kelli for the Christmas cards!

At some point, I may get my act together. I baked one batch of festive lemon cut-out cookies from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. last night. That's my "me" time! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day. Wish I had time to check out the gowns you all are talking about, but my free time (and there's so much of that! :teeth: ) is completely dedicated to Christmas tasks at this point.

Amy :)

That green one is beautiful. I also like one on the first page - I think it is ntburns that posted it. In real life I never wear dresses that show the tops of my arms, so the vast majority of the gowns on that thread would be a "no go" for me. ;)

I'm off to Alyssa's last ballet class until mid-Jan. The are doing a little Christmas show for the parents today. Hopefully I'll get some good pictures.

Mickeys castle forefront stage show.

I love that Jennifer!!! When my boys were little my favorite part of the parades where watching their facial expressions as the floats came by.......to me that is priceless and it looks like you were able to capture it.

Great Job!!!

Wow! It is SOOO much easier to look at the gowns with the images enabled! :rotfl: And I am at work now so this computer is MUCH faster than mine! Brother wasn't feeling well at school so I picked him up early. He is napping now. I'll take him to the Dr. after we pick up Sister.

Deb - Your dress is gorgeous! I missed a bunch of gowns this morning because my computer loads the images so slowly!

Here are some pics from the candlelight brunch on Saturday

My Mom's place setting

Her table, the theme was the 12 days of Christmas, the glasses, ornaments, and box in the middle all had that decoration, the topiary in the middle was our interpretation of partridge in a pear tree

The harpist, I was disappointed she only played before the event started as people were walking around and they had other people to sing, read stories and show you how to do floral displays while we were eating. I would have rather had the harp music for background so we could have talked at the tables. They handed out comment things and this went on it.

Everyone is looking great on the red carpet, I still need to pick out my dress.

Marci sent me a pm at 11:30 am. Her mom is still hanging on. I'll post more layer as I hear anything. Keep praying as they really need it.

Sending tons of prayers, pixiedust and :grouphug: to Marci and her family.
