The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 18

I have 4 sets of Sony rechargeable AA batteries, I found with my Sony camera they were the only thing that really lasts. I had treid other rechargeables I had and they just didn't last or work well. I got one set with each of my Sony camera and then I bought 2 sets of Sony rechargeables.

I have 2 gigs of memory that I carry with me as well. If my camera took larger than 5.1mp I would probably carry a 3rd gig stick with me. I dump these each night into a new folder on the laptop. Once they are safely on the computer I merge each days folders and put the day folders into a trip folder which contains all the trips folders. They are burned onto a DVD RW each night.

Why all the safety precautions, The night I got off the Wonder, in September 2005 my brother was dumping the last pics from our cruise and our day at Downtown Disney onto the laptop into one big folder, well there was an error and the whole screen went to blue and all the pictures in the folder something like 1500, disappeared even though it was divided into subcategories. The computer still worked without issues and nothing else was gone just all the pictures from that folder.

Luckily once we got home, with a harddrive recovery program we were able to recover all but about 100 pictures. Ever since the extra precautions have been in place just in case.

Thanks for the warning. I have a 6 MP camera so I guess I'll need more memory cards. I'll have 2 canon batteries so hopefully that will be enough juice to get us through the day. We usually are gone from opening to closing and I tend to take a lot of pictures of the kids. I'll have to remember to burn a cd as I go along too. I think I'll need an extra bag just for electronics

Jen - Did the doctor ever tell you if it was your appendix causing the problems? I'm worried about you. You need to be feeling better! Congrats on the student teaching assignment! I remember those days! You'll be fantastic!

Deb - I'm sorry that your back is giving you trouble. I hope it feels better soon! I'm so sorry that Hunter's mouse house had to be redone! What a hard thing! If I had been his teacher, I would have appreciated the extra effort a student put into the assignment.

Becky - Congrats on the grades! I also liked the pictures of the tea service. Very neat!

Tammi and Elin - I'm so jealous that you saw the Nutcracker! I love that ballet, but haven't been able to go in years. I would love for my kids to see it, but until we can afford it, they'll just have to make do with the Baryshnikov version. Luckily, they seem to like that just fine. I have to admit that I'm with Alyssa on the men's attire.

To all the rest of you - I hope that your holiday season is moving right along for you! It's snowing here, and we are enjoying staying in our warm house. I'm starting my holiday baking this week, and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm planning on making Pumpkin bread, several different types of cookies and many goodies from the Quick and Easy Holiday treats thread. Things like pretzel wreaths, smore marshmallows, chocolate covered popcorn, chocolate dipped pretzel rods. The kids are looking forward to helping out.

Hi all...

Just checking in. We got home a couple of hours ago. It was a great trip!!! 11 days of fun!!!! Too bad the real world has to sneak in.

We watched the shuttle take of from the Poly beach last night. It was pretty amazing...Paul, Marti & Matt joined us and Dave & Christy and their girls (she hasn't posted here-but Vicki, Stephanie, Terry & Jennifer have met her)

I could have made a fortune selling these t-shirts....the kids kept track of which t-shirt got asked about the most

I just got my order from DisneyShopping.com. I am very impressed. $8.49 for the Fab Five snowflake ornaments. The characters are 3D on the snowflakes. I love them and they are so big. At least 5 inches in diameter. I bought them to give to my cousins kids, now my kids want them. I guess it's a good thing that I bought 2 sets (shhhh don't tell them)
I also ordered the monogrammed Mickey Laptop bag. Only $11.24. I guess I hit it on the right sale and with free shipping. I may need to order more now. Of course I did get more stuff in that order. Cars storybook ornaments, Doc Hudson action figure, Goofy Pjs and Slippers, goofy trailer hitch cover and 3 long sleeved mickey henleys for the boys. Only $105 for all of it and it is great quality and great value. Can you tell that I had never ordered from them before Now I'm on

Originally, it was the BAB Mickey & Minnie's that came out. However, they did eventually show up on their website. The only thing left that I know about now is the Disneyland Mickey & Minnie outfits that you can only get at Disneyland. They include Mickey (or Minnie) ears, a Disneyland tshirt, and Mickey white gloves.

Dr. says Brother has a cold. No big deal, he can go to school Wednesday.

DH said after he left work today they put out a "revised" bid schedule. There are now 3 MORE people in front of him, and his bid has been pushed 30 minutes later. I hate to say it, but I do believe that DS and I will be touring WDW in 2007 without DH. Well, we have the mini trip in February and I guess DH can drop in for the last 2 days of the August trip.
