The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 18

I have been doing some shopping for myself along with the Christmas stuff. I should be pretty well set for our July trip :rotfl2: I've got 2 Rechargable Canon Digital Camera batteries coming. 2 more Camcorder batteries and they have at least twice the original power. I'm hoping to have enough battery power to get us through each day without having to run back to the hotel to recharge. I was suprised that a 128 mb sd card only hold 45 pictures at full quality. I think I have 3 cards that are that size and I bought a new 1 gb card. Hopefully that will give me enough space to take all the pictures I want and download to the laptop each night. I also found a really small tripod, sd card case and pen style lens cleaning kit. I already bought myself the laptop and a new camera plus the digital dvd camcorder from last year. I think I've covered all the electronic bases. Best of all everything is much more compact so it won't suck so bad hauling it all around. How many spare batteries do you carry for your cameras?

Denise - I don't think we saw Pocahontas, either. :confused3 DS will only stop for characters we haven't seen before though, so maybe I just don't remember.

Jennifer - For DH's stocking I put an apple & an orange (that's a tradition from when I was a little girl), some candy, razors & shaving cream, toothbrush, toothpaste, maybe a DVD or CD, anything else I can find that will fit in there. We have HUGE stockings that I bought at the Disney Store when I was pregnant with DS. I didn't realize how much of a challenge it would be to fill the darn things every year! :rotfl:

I usually put some of DH's cologne in his (he always needs more), a DVD or CD, and lots of the breathsaver mints he likes. We also have huge stockings that my mom made for us. He got his when he "joined" the family.

I don't know....I can't get my head around the fact that one cs + drink, one ts (entree only) + drink, any snacks throughout the day, and any taxes and tips would be equal to or less than $38. Well, maybe if I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu. :confused3 Maybe I should just try it and and see how it goes. Or maybe I should make myself crazy and keep playing with these numbers.

Tammi - I think it really depends on how your family eats. For DH and I, we do a lot of TS meals, because we have WAY too many favorite restaurants  and we like having some time to sit down and enjoy things. So, the DDE works best for us, as we don't have to worry about not using all our CS and snack credits, and still paying OOP for some of our TS meals (you also get a discount on alcoholic beverages)!

We did the free dining in August, just to try it out since we can add it to any of our DVC reservations. It was definitely way too much food for us, and we found ourselves ordering CS meals that we really didn't need (plus worrying about what counted, where things were available, etc.). I definitely missed our DDE card, and am glad that we're AP holders once again (also got to love the free valet parking at any of the resorts when dining there!).

Now, I'm sure when we have a family, our dining habits will change, and maybe the DDP will be a better value for us at that time. I think you're right to crunch some numbers, and really see where you come out.

Jeff carried 3 sets for our digital camera but we had the rechargable ones some how we lost one of the batteries. If you are not using rechargable we found the best batteries are the Enigerixer Lithium. for our camcorder we carried the one that was on and an extra.
I need to get us a digital dvd camcorder next year. We have a Konica minolta camera, we took my laptop and downloaded pics every couple of days. We have a 2gb memory card that Jeff had got for 50.00 last year on sale. we also have a 1gb if needed.

Tammi-will you be staying DVC? I think DDP is a better deal for DVC because you don't loose potential AP room discount and you don't have to pay for an admission ticket. Do you use Magic Express or do any Extra Magic Hours? You can't leave a kid off your reservation if you're going to do that.

I've always used the AA rechargable ones, but the new camera has a special flat square battery made just for the camera. I found a good deal online so it probably is cheaper than buying a bunch of AA batteries.

I'm in the same boat for our trip in February. I have to sit down and run the numbers from our trip last week. However, I then want to sit down and figure out where we are eating for our Feb. trip and have Chuck & Becky look at the menus to see what they think they would order so I can run those numbers.

So far in Feb. we have reservations for CRT and Brown Derby Fantasmic package. We also have our Segway tour booked for the 1st morning which we saved 15% on since I'm an AP holder. :woohoo: Chuck wants to eat at Sci Fi one day as well and he also thinks he wants to try Trails End.
My ADRS are:

CM
Boma
CRT
SciFi
MM/FDP
Le Cellier
Kona

All are for dinner, except Kona for breakfast our last morning.

Vicki did you get your Mr. Potato head parts if so what did you get.

No, I decided to wait until Becky & I were there in February. It is much more fun picking them out when you have someone joining in the fun with you. We did stop by and look at them.

One, but all of mine are rechargable. I take my chargers and recharge them every night.

Not really...Christopher got a certificate for being the first one to go down the water slide. Of course it was 60 degrees that day! They probably had some kind of bet going on what crazy person would go into the pool on such a cold day :rotfl2:

All 3 rode Peter Pan's flight with Peter Pan...so that was pretty cool

Kristine, welcome back! I love the pictures. Your tshirts were wonderful.

Jennifer, I'm loving all the pictures. That daughter of yours is one gorgeous little girl.

Do you mean like card games? His socks go under the tree as I buy him a 6or is it 8 pack. he does not llike the slipper socks. He still has a ton of candy left that he bought after Halloween so I don't want to buy him anymore. but I had thought of that. I got him the imaginers guides for MK and Epcot as christmas presents.

Very Cool. I can imagine that the waterslide was a bit slow in 60 degree weather. Although 60 degree weather here is shorts weather :bitelip:

I'm off to bed. The kids will have me up bright and early.

Yes, we will be staying DVC, and I had already thought of the ME issue that I was going to run into. Oh well, I can use the credits for the kids toward our CRT since that is 2. So if they share some meals we should have extra credits to cover that.

Thanks, Lindsay, for your input too.
