Here's the new light fixture!

Everything else done today was not worth mentioning (adjusting swollen doors, etc)

Thea is quite happy to be out of the gameroom, and she's STILL running around making sure there aren't any extra people hanging around

ETA: Ok, ignore the hole in the ceiling They're coming to fix that next week!

Well, after spending 4 days with Mom nonstop...she's missing me. I think she's coming to my house tonight and is cooking dinner. Go figure!

Jennifer - Did I mentioned I like the house? I like the new light fixture. Where'd you get it? I've been looking for one for over my dining room table for a while now. But I also have to paint the living room, dining room, computer room and bathroom before I can deal with light fixtures...but light fixtures are so much fun! It's nothing compared to painting! Any new ideas on a chair for the master?

Home Depot! They have a ton, in all different colors/varieties. It was a lot of fun shopping for it! And I'm totally in agreement.... painting (or really just everything that goes with it) is the worst! No new ideas yet for the chair in the master BR. Just an empty corner still We haven't really had a chance to look yet though, either.

I forgot to tell you all what my Dr said on friday. she said that I definetally tore my tendon. she said at least half way or more but not completely. she said to keep wearing the aircast and wraping it with the ace wrap. though she did not say for how long. I am hoping it will be completey well by my trip. as the aircast makes my leg sweat and thus makes my leg itch. She offered to right an order for me to stay off work for awhile longer. but I told her I did not have enough sick time left. so trying to stay off it as much as I can when I am home and sitting as much as possible when at work. which is hard for a nurse sometimes.
of Course you all would have laughed at me sat and sun. its the weekend so the managers our not their so I sat down in a wheelchair and wheeled my self up and doen the halls. would park the wheelchair outside of the room of my patient then walk in the room take care of the patient then go back out of the room to the wheelchair sit and chart then go back to the desk.

Well bugger!! I hope it heals quickly !!

You'd think I do nothing but DIS all day long, huh? Well, actually, today you'd be pretty darn close. I got all my housework done early, so I could play in between loads of laundry!

Jennifer -- love the new light fixture! I've wanted to replace the one over my kitchen table since about a year after we moved in. We've now been in the house almost 8 years.....so my point is continue doing all the things like that, that you want to do NOW.

bear74 and tink2020 and Denise and Melanie (and anyone else I've missed) -- I've always had an appreciation for nurses (and at one time, thought I wanted to be one) but I REALLY have an appreciation for them now. For the most part, mom has had some really good ones, and I'm SO thankful. There have been a couple that you could tell were just burned out or having bad days.... but for the most part they put up with a lot from sick/difficult people and still find time to be helpful. Thank you for what you do!

They do look lovely! I noticed them but didn't realize they were new/out now. Then I looked today, and there they are! On sale AND with a code. Oops, did I say that out loud?

Becky - you know those starbucks vouchers, have you used them?

I posted the link over on the UK board as I know there are some big starbucks fans over there and someone posted back to me that they couldn't possibly be real as they have no logo or instructions on them (quite nasty post I thought).

I was honestly quite leery of them myself. There is information at the bottom but very tiny, but I figured I would give it a try , since the person who posted it said they used it without a problem.

Well, thankfully (?) we didn't have much of a choice with the light fixture! For whatever reason (God only knows) it was waaay off from where it should have been. When we first moved in, we just stuck the table under it (where you would assume it belonged). Then we noticed that the breakfast room was virtually empty, and there was no room between the table and the island!

So we moved it because it was driving me crazy, but then of course the light HAD to be fixed so that everyone (but me and other shorties) didn't hit their head. Ask Amy, it was quite goofy

PS - Denise and Melanie are also nurses. I'm glad your mom has had a few good ones.
