I'd call the doctor and see if Naproxen is ok. If not, ask for a prescription Narcotic. At least you could take it when not driving. I hope you feel better!

Heidi,

How is your mom? I never heard any other updates?

Anne Marie,

I have a question about American Girl Place. We are thinking for Emma's birthday that Emma and I head up there for the day. We will be taking the train up and back. The first train would put us into Penn Station around 8:45am. I am wondering how long I would need to plan for the day. I am pretty sure we are going to get the Day at American Girl Package which includes lunch, the show and a photo shoot. Also do you think it is too late for November reservations?

After the second time in the hospital, she is doing good. They never did find out where the infection was coming from but they did manage to get rid of it.

She just had her tattooing done for her radiation and will be starting that in Aug.
5 days a week for 33 treatments.

So long as she does well and no more infections, she is going to Disney with us in December.

Thank you for asking. :)

Denise...

Try to stop into the Tavern in the Green....one of most favorite places. I met JFK Jr, ....Susan Lucci & a couple other soap stars there.

I used to live & work in NY...actually Jonathan was born in NY. He is dying to go back...some day!

Kate - What was the site that you use for rental cars?

I'm sorry to hear you had to go through so many Dr's before someone would listen. I found out after I had Riley that I had this problem. I went in for a tubal & woke up to having an ovary removed. I was told then that it might return. The hysterectomy was the only option for me & it was the best thing. I knew I would not be having more children & being pain free is wonderful(not to mention no monthly visits :thumbsup2 ). Good luck with your appointment in Jan. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask or you can pm me.

My next appointment is in January, and we will be talking hysterectomy.

I have been through 8 doctors befor this diagnose  as most just blew me off saying it common to have periods longer than a week or they were blaming hormones.

I take Zovia (BC) to regulate my periods, but it doesnt help with the heaviness or the pain.

Thanks for all the awesome NYC info. Y'all are great. We have not booked anything yet, I just know what day we'll go (for the ticker). I think the Times Square would be best so we are close to stuff and the parade.

Things we want to do:
  • Empire State Bldg
  • Ground Zero
  • See the Christmas lights and store fronts
  • Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island
  • American Girl Store
  • FAO Schwartz and/or Toys R Us
  • Love to take a carriage ride through Central Park
  • Maybe go see the Today show
  • NBC tour and/or Rockettes (John and I saw the touring show)
  • Ice skating at Rockefeller Center
Anything else that's a must do?
broadway show
i say lion king and or wicked

All right you all have become enablers of not only me but my entire family....they all want to come to the DDA meet in September 2007 to Disneyland, and we should be able to swing a long weekend. How cool is that? :teeth:

So we will go from the girls having been to no Disney park to 2 in one year!!

I don't think we'll be able to swing the cruise as that is the time of year Cassidy will be deciding whether to continue on in the IB program or not....unless she decides sooner than that.

Another thing you can use is contact paper. You can cut out designs of whatever you want and stick them fast to the shirt. Peel them off after the shirt has dried. You can also use the foam shapes that have the sticky stuff already on the back. That is what my Brownie troop used, one bucket was plenty for shirts, bandanas, and for a few other projects throughout the year.

Fantastic idea, Becky! That opens up whole new possibilities for me! Woohoo!

I second that! It's an amazing show.

DH HATES the theatre - but after I took him to WDW in 2003 and he saw the festival of the lion king he came home and bought me a surprise xmas gift... tix to go see the stage show in London

He enjoyed it as much as I did :thumbsup2

I really felt that the stage show was true to the Disney feeling. We were 5 rows from the front on the aisle. It was incredible as the show started!!!!! I'm still trying to talk DH into taking me back to see the new Tarzan and Beauty and the Beast. Not to mention Mary Poppins. So many shows, so little money.

This reminds me of something we did with the Girl Scouts. We laid leaves/ferns on shirts and also used contact paper to make designs and then sprayed a colored shirt with bleach. Kind of like a reverse dye. You need to rinse the shirts fairly quickly. Black shirts turn black/orange. Other shirts are dark/light. I wish I had photos.

Here is a link: http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=10018 I found the idea in the Family Fun magazine, so I tried a site search, and it actually came up.

Good Morning DDA'ers!!!

We had a great time last night at Olive Garden. Denise, Julia and I actually closed the restaurant down. We left at 10:40pm and noticed on the way out the sign said closing time as 10pm. I was kind of wandering why there were 5-6 servers hanging out just 3 tables away. Other people were still eating so we weren't the only ones.

YES!!!! We stayed on our diets. They brought the salad out without the dressing and we added our own fat free and I had NO breadsticks. The chicken giardino was really good with the whole wheat pasta. I could have had about 1 cup of grated cheese on top of it but I kindly said no thank you.

Thank you Denise, Julia, Terry and Debi for a wonderful evening. It is nice to be able to talk face to face with my DDA friends.

Lynn

Sounds like you guys had a great time!!!!! Congrats on all of you staying on your diets. That takes tremendous will power. I love the whole wheat pasta. To me it tastes better than regular, more nutty or something! I can't believe you let the breadsticks pass you by! That is something that I don't know if I could do.

Tell me, how was the fat free salad dressing? Does it taste similar to the regular? Just curious.

Honestly you couldn't tell a difference. I had requested for mine and Denise's salad to be brought out with no dressing on it with the FF Italian on the side. Well they brought out the entire bowl w/ no dressing. Everyone else used the same salad dressing that we used and it was just as good.

Ok ladies, some female talk.

Its that time of the month and I am having some smart pain. I have been diagnosed with Endometriosis, what do you use for pain? will Tylenol help?

I'm so sorry you are having pain. I would think that Tylenol would help, but as I've never had endometrosis, I'm not sure. Good luck!

triplefigs said:
800mg of Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin). It's the best for that type pain. You can take Tylenol 3 hours later, then Ibuprofen again 3 hours later.

So Advil at 11am
Tylenol at 2pm
Advil at 5pm
Tylenol at 8pm
Advil at 11pm

I should have continued to read. Good advice, Denise!

We did this for a trip to DL about 6 years ago! It was great! We did Mickey silhouettes on shirts for all the kids, and they were so cute.

Then, for Christmas a year or so later, we did a similar thing. We used different sizes of round sponges dipped in bleach to make a snowman shape on the shirts. Then we used fabric paint to decorate each snowman, and for a final touch, sprayed the shirts lightly with a mixture of bleach and water on the top portion of the shirt to look like snow falling. They turned out so cute! I wish I had pictures!
