Yay more pictures :thumbsup2

Elin - I sent the Duck Tour link to my dad and he said he thought it looked really good. They're going on an organised coach tour though and won't know the itinerary in full until the end of August. He says if they haven't included the tour already and they get a day to themselves that they will check it out :goodvibes

:rotfl: We all four loved the tour. It was a very spotty overview of Boston and I would not suggest it as a way to say you had toured the city, but it was a fun way to spend a couple of hours and being able to drive the vehicle right into the water thrilled my DH something fierce!

Oh before I forget - I know I missed some of you - but have a fantastic weekend in DC! Take lots of pictures and make sure we get some trip reports!

Is anyone taking a PM on the meet?

Right now from Nutrisystem they are offering an additional 7 days of food for free, so you get the 28 days you pay for plus 7 more days for free.

Not sure if that is a better deal or not than what QVC offers. :confused3

That is what I got this last time, Becky. So, I am still doing the "Take the Weekends Off" plan but I have more meals in the monthly shipment to work with so it was very cost effective for me this way. Plus I had the added benefit of ordering exactly what I wanted!

:wave2: I'm here! It's been a busy week so I haven't been on much and I'm trying hard to catch up!

Lee's been working ridiculous hours all week - not getting home until 11pm when I'm fast asleep - I've not seen him for more than 5 minutes since Sunday. This evening I called to see what time he'd be home as I really wanted take out pizza... he was stuck late again... so I ordered enough pizza for his whole team and delivered it to them! If he can't see me at home I'll just go visit him at work :rotfl:
Clare, that was sweet of you. I'm sure they appreciated it. I'm going to have to adopt your attitude when I get frustrated with Brian working so much!

Ok, I'll be checking in off and on during the evening.

I forgot to add in my previous post that Tuesday was our four year anniversary from the day we met... and we didn't even get to see each other! Just spoke on the phone for five minutes in the evening :sad2:

He just emailed me to say he'll be home by 10... hopefully this means we'll get to spend the day together on Sunday instead of him going into work again...

I hope you get to spend Sunday together too! Also, you asked if any of us was taking a PM to the DC Meet. There will be a couple of them there!

He doesn't know how to swim! Can you believe that?! What he really needs is double knee replacement....but until some of this other stuff gets under control, I don't see that happening any time soon.
Who says he has to swim, walking laps in a pool is great exercise and it doesn't offer as much strain as on the ground or at least in my experience. Or perhaps it would be a great opportunity for him to learn to swim. Or what about lifting weights that could just use his arms. Or a rowing machine.

I was going to suggest something similar. I have a set of 8 pound weights that I use once or twice a week and I can work up quite a sweat doing so!

I can't wait! Are you ready? What time shall I pick you up?
Are you sure that your eight pound dumb bells have prepared you enough to pick Tammi up??? :teeth: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Just joking, see both of you tomorrow.

I guess I should start packing or figure out what I am taking. :rotfl2:

I don't remember what this CPR is called but it isn't the standard one that most people take which is good for two or three years. It is through Red Cross.

CPR for the professional rescuer :goodvibes I used to teach it! I'm pretty sure that's the one they would have you take.

For anyone that asked, I have to renew yearly in Ohio

Hi everyone! TGIF!! I hope you all had a great day! I only had about 5 pages to catch up on today (I cheated, though--I checked in on my mom's computer when I went to her house for lunch! ).

Elin--congratulations on your weight loss!! You look terrific! I have to tell you, DH & I just lost some weight, too, and the first thing I bought was new underwear! :rotfl2: So, I know where you're coming from!

Kristine--way to go!! The 10 pound mark--that's great!!

rosiejo--I hope you get to spend tons of time with your husband! It's cool that you celebrate the anniversary of the first day you met. DH & I always go out to celebrate the anniversary of our first date (8 years ago this August).

triplefigs--do you like your treadmill? I am debating seriously about getting one! I think I would use it more if it's in the house, than I would by joining a gym and using theirs. :confused3

I hope everyone has a fun and safe trip to the meets this weekend--and I am so excited that there are some PMs going! My PM should arrive tomorrow or Monday at the latest! :cool1:

Have a great Friday evening!

I'm lucky that my kids love whole grains. In fact, the more "stuff" it has in it, the better they like it. I need to get them over to Brown Rice. That's my fave.

What are the low carb tortillas? They'd be good on the weekend for wraps or homemade Mexican (our fave).

Whew! The party's over so I'm free for a few minutes!

The tortillas are whole wheat and Mission brand. I like them a lot! I'm noticing more and more brands of low carb tortillas, bagels, etc. I still can't eat a whole lot of them (like a half a bagel for breakfast), but it's nice to have the option.

Glynis - I hope that Katie has a wonderful party today! It sounds like a lot of fun for all of you. That's great that Alan can take the younger kids out so that Katie can really enjoy her friends. Have a great time!!!

Thanks. It was a lot of fun! Katie and her 8 closest friends invaded my house! First of all, I had bought them all canvas tote bags, and with flour and water paste I freehanded an ice cream cone on the front. I did that last night, and when the girls got here today, I gave them some fabric spray paint, and let them get artistic. Once the paint dried they peeled off the paste and had a darling bag to take home.

We played a rousing game of Pin the Cherry on the Ice Cream Cone, a version of Hot Potato (using a stuffed ice cream cone), and had an ice cream eating contest. Then they got to make their own ice cream sundaes. Most of them built these wonderful concoctions, but when it came right down to it, their eyes were bigger than their stomachs! I don't think anyone finished their bowl of ice cream. But they had fun trying. After Katie opened her presents, I handed out the loot to put in their bags. I had gone to the dollar store and bought ice cream scoops for them all, Baskin Robbins ice cream flavored hard candies, a gummy "make your own ice cream cone" kit, ice cream stickers, crazy straws, ice cream bubbles, ice cream play dough and to top it off I bought salt water taffy in ice cream flavors and gave them each a handful of that.

They were very pleased with it all, and I didn't spend a fortune! Alan was pleased about that! I'll try to get some pictures uploaded tonight!

If any of you want to see what a normal size portion looks like in a restaurant come visit me! All the british guide books tell you to share entrees when visiting the states as the portion sizes are two to three times the size of ours! It's a good job American restaurants don't mind me eating the kids meals because I even struggle to finish them!

I hear you! Alan thinks I'm a great cheap dinner date, now, since I can only eat a tiny bit. We order one entree and share it!

You ought to know, kiddo! You were part of my inspiration.

Aww, that's sweet! I have been so inspired by the DDA Weight Loss thread! That has been the best thing for me! It's so nice to have the support and the cheering section, isn't it?

I will have MTM (Thomas). I am then going to take him down to Marietta, Georgia for my sister to see then send him to Elin.
