Way to Go Miles!
When she woke she did not know what happened. We talked her into going to the ER & the Dr. said that she actually had experienced a brain freeze! She now puts her ice cream in a cup & lets it melt before eating
Dh drank a slurpee to quick once & said he felt like he was having a heart attack. He drinks these very slowly now julia & nicks mom said:
And Emma too! I love looking at her smile!triplefigs said:Sounds like Miles, Jake, and Brantley-Kate all are toothless at the moment! Isn't it adorable?
Well said Glynis and so true!Glynis said:In all seriousness, I honestly don't know what I would do without ANY of you! I was thinking about it today, and I feel closer to you guys than I do to most of my neighbors and family members as well. There's something about having common interests that has really bonded us as a group, I think. I just feel so comfortable talking to all of you!
I am just so excited for the DL meet and the half marathon where I am going to be able to finally meet some of you! That will be the highlight for me! Alan told me the other day that he's so glad I have this group, as I'm happier than he's seen me in a long time. I told him that I get unconditional support from you guys and that means the world to me! So THANKS, ONE AND ALL!
Tammi67 said:Glynis - what thrills me is that we have been through milestones together, and not just the post count milestones. We've been through your surgery and weight loss, Denise's scare with Rees, Jo's divorce, Amy and Dawn's pregnancies, my homelife troubles, too many deaths, sicknesses and injuries to count, Kate's scare with Nick. I could go on and on. We've all been there together and seen each other through, good and bad. Oh crap, I'm getting teary just thinking about it. We are bound by something, I'm not sure what, but it all started because of our love of Disney, and grew into something wonderful!

I hope everyone is having a good day - I've been reading along where I can, but work is stressing me out! I will be very glad when this weeend is over, as it means I will have survived one of my final "big" events of our summer intern program - we put on a "Battle of the Bands" for 300 of our closest friends.I still have 5 1/2 weeks to go, but there is at least a glimmer of a light at the end of the tunnel!

I spoke with the doctor today - she said that Nick actually does have a small hole in his heart - between the left and right ventricles - but that 25% of adults have this problem and that it will never be a problem for him
I asked if he could play sports - ride roller coasters etc and she said absolutely - we even talked about the undetected heart conditions like that boy on RNR and she told me I never have to worry about that with Nick!!!!
I asked what caused the irregular EKG and she said the test is very picky about the leads and they must not have gotten good placement of the leads either time.
We talked about how he seems much better since he was on the antibiotic a few weeks ago and she feels that he must have had a sinus infection that wasn't showing up
so as of now - my sweet little boy has a clean bill of health and is acting like it!!!!!! It has been a long time since I haven't been really worried about him!!!!!!!
WTG CHRISTOPHER

Crime Emergency Declared in Washington, DC
Due to a sharp increase in crime, the Washington, DC Chief of Police has declared a crime emergency. There have been several recent armed robberies on the National Mall, including two last night. On the Mall, entire families have been robbed at gunpoint and one of last night's robberies also included a sexual assault. Additionally, there have been four armed robberies in the vicinity of the Fort Totten Metro station since last Thursday and a horrific murder and attempted sexual assault in Georgetown.
If you visit Washington, please use common sense and caution when traveling. Do not assume that because you are in a large family unit near tourist attractions or government buildings that you are safe. Walk on streets that are heavily trafficked and well-lit. Be aware of your surroundings.
I am not trying to frighten anyone away from Washington. It's a great city and I love living here. I am simply making visitors aware of an unfortunate situation and hoping that they keep safe.

Christopher had his final regular swim meet of the season this morning. He has been hoping to be picked for the relay team for weeks. He's a good swimmer for his age, but about a month ago he started coming up for breaths about every other stroke and it was slowing him down a bit. We've been working on it and I just told him to do his best at practice and maybe he would be picked.
When we got there this morning he was only signed up for the individual freestlye and not the relay. I was disappointed for him, but I didn't say anything. In a few minutes one of the Jr. Coaches had him by the hand and said mom he's going to do the relay.
When it was his turn to swim he flew to the other side of the pool! We were all standing there with our jaws on the floor. I've never seen him swim that fast and he didn't do the breaths every other stroke. His relay team took second place behind the other relay team from our club![]()
When it was time for his individual freestyle he again flew down the pool and won a blue ribbon!!!!!!! He was swimming against good swimmers so I was really proud of him. It was a close race!
After the meet he went to his coach and thanked her for letting him be on the relay team. She told him she didn't "let" him, that he had improved so much that he earned a spot on the team! He was so proud and I was so proud for him!! She doesn't know how much she boosted his self esteem and confidence by saying that!
On a side note, and pretty funny: Christopher has blue (1st), red (2nd) and yellow (4th) ribbons. There are 3 other color ribbons that he doesn't have, and he wants one of every color. The lady handing out the ribbons for the relay thought his team took 3rd so she handed him a white ribbon. When she realized her mistake and gave him a red ribbon, he didn't want to trade. Isn't it great that at that age it's still not all about winning?

Nope, no baby on board here... Went to the dr. again last night & they found I just have costochondritis(chest wall pain) & stress. Nothing worng with my heart (thank goodness) & by BP was down to 120/80 which is good. I just have to take Alleve or Advil for the pain & take it easy.
We did get alittle excited about the propect of a new baby but the way the kids were fightingthis morning, I think that thought got kncoked out of my head!
