Tonight we get a call that my SIL is coming out from MI for her last few months of life. The Dr have told her in the past she has between 2 weeks and 2 years to live. Well as of today they are giving her no more than a few months. The cancer has just taken off like a rocket and is all over her now. We are making plans to visit my MIL a lot these next few months because that is where my SIL will be staying. This news totally sucks, but we knew it was coming, it is just a little to fast for everyone. Then again learning someone is going to die soon is always to fast.

Thank you

sorry to hear this. I will continue to keep her and you along with your family in my prayers

Are you crazy!?!? You will never hear the end of it.

and now you have proven her right!!!!! Now my dilemma - do I tell her or not?!!?

:wizard: :wizard: that you get to go to Washington.

I've had a pretty crappy start to my vacation and without going into many details I need some major pixie dust this way so that we can go to Washington next week. It's totally my own idiocy but I would sure appreciate it thanks.

:wizard: for continued improvement.

I will post a real update later, im headed to work now adn then going to the hospital..but all i know for now is that he is continuing to improve slowly--still considering him not to be out of the woods yet, but ill find out more tonight and post when i get home--thanks for asking!

Good morning everyone! :wave2:

Would I sound redundant if I said things were crazy around here?!! As I was telling Jennifer yesterday, at this point, I am so anxious for Matthew to get here, because there's no way I'm going to get all I want to do done before he does (she claimed that made sense, but I'm doubting my sanity at this point! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )

Last night we went to Babies-R-Us and bought our double stroller. Thank you so much for your generosity! We will think of you all, every time we open and close that monstrosity! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have no idea where our camera cords or card reader are, but my sister was kind enough to email me a few pictures from the last day of swimming lessons. Alyssa actually looks a little content, though there was still a lot of whining and crying going on. Do you like where she stuck her duck?!! :teeth:

We have a new refrigerator being delivered today and my mom is arriving tonight. I have several DDA phone numbers plugged into my cell phone, but no fighting over who gets to post Matthew's arrival first! :goodvibes

I hope you all have a great weekend! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I'm off to bed too. I have given up taking Tylenol PM. I made a conscious decision to do so while on vacation and I haven't taken one since. I was relying on them every night to get to sleep. I have found that I am not nearly as tired in the morning, don't require daily naps and I am ready for bed by 11 PM without them. That is one step towards a lifestyle change. I have also been bringing the kids to the pool everyday and challenging them to swim races. It is good for all of us. So I've increased my excercise and I'm having fun. Now if I could just change my diet and get more exercise I'd be on the path to a healthy lifestyle, but for now I'm happy with my baby steps.
Night All.

Deb

Baby steps are the best way to a true lifestyle change. Whenever I tried to make major changes, I found it overwhelming and it never lasted more than a month or two. You are doing awesome. Those baby steps are some awesome steps to a lifestyle change!!!! Keep it up Deb!!

I still haven't added the exercise portion to a true lifestyle change but after running on Tuesday, I think I will try to add 1/2 hour 5 days a week now. I was very sore yesterday but only slightly today.

What about finding someone from the community who enjoys doing that type of thing who needs companionship. Perhaps there is an older lady who used to can but can't do it anymore by themself or just someone who would be willing to do stuff with him so that he isn't bothering you all the time. Even if it is just someone who will sit and talk with him or watch TV with him.

When my Dad was wheel chair bound for 6 weeks various people came and just sat with my Dad and to do things with him. So that my Mom could have a break and to let her go to work. They also ran him to apointments and other things. So that my Mom had less stress and could still do her own stuff sometimes. I know it is hard and he wants to spend time with you, but this way he still is doing something with someone so he isn't lonely.

Could you possibly talk to him about it and say that you will spend x amount of time with him doing something and then you want your own time. This way you would at least be spending time with him. He would know how much time you will spend with him and won't feel left out. Perhaps plan one thing together that you will do together for sure, this way it is scheduled and you will do it. But also have unscheduled blocks of time together. This way you would get your own uninterrupted time without him.

:grouphug: and :wizard:

Thanks for the ideas! I'll have a talk with him about it.

hey all -

sorry I haven't been around - things here have been CRAZY!!!

Nick has actually been doing pretty well - but I just have to find out what is going on with his heart - then I will feel so much better!!!!

I hit my knee the other day (yes - the bad one) and now it is bruised and swollen - it really hurts and I have been limping around all week!! I think I might have to go see the doctor again - the kneecap is moving more than it should be and is making sounds it shouldn't make! Hopefully when the swelling and bruising go down it will feel better!!!

Glad you checked in. Sorry about your knee. The kids, as always, are gorgeous. Don't tell Julia but "our" box will be winging it's way back to your house later today.

Kate Nice pictures, looks like you all had a good time. Sorry to hear about your knee.

Paula Prayers for your sil & your family :grouphug:

Theresa Hope everything goes well so you can make your trip :wizard:

Amy I love where Alyssa put the duckie :rotfl: I am so excited for you, I cannot wait to hear that Matthew has arrived! I will be thinking of you :goodvibes

Well it’s been a rather wild and crazy few days.

First every time I get on to read or post….. either Vicki or Christi is pm’ing me. :) So if you are looking for a reply to a post, I would love to, but I can’t get Vicki or Christi to stop talking to me via pm. :lmao: (just kidding, I love the pm’s ladies);)

So the other day Bethie and Ellie were playing and Bethie dislocated her elbow. We didn’t know it at the time because she didn’t tell us where it hurt. Yes I know she is only 2 ¾ , but she does talk well. We took her to the ER after not being able to figure out why she was still crying. They x-rayed her arm and then the Dr. messed with it and POP, it went back into place, the Dr handed her a pencil and she was back to normal. We gave her motrin later that day for the light pain, but that was it. I guess it is very common in kids under 4 to have this happen. It’s called nursemaid’s elbow.

Tonight we get a call that my SIL is coming out from MI for her last few months of life. The Dr have told her in the past she has between 2 weeks and 2 years to live. SO here is my warning to you, if I drop off the face of the DDA for a while do not worry I am likely up at my MIL’s and will contact one of you to let you know why I cam gone. I will do my best to post that I am leaving, but again I don’t want to get in trouble like Glynis did, so this is my warning of short notice leaving.

Now back to our regularly scheduled reading and posting. :happytv:

Prayers & pixiedust: for your SIL & all your family as you are dealing with this. It is always too short of notice when you hear news like this. I hope that you get to spend some good quality time with your SIL in the coming months.

HUGS TO BETHIE

and

OMG!!!!!!!! Glynis -

everytime one of us picks our kids up by their arms and spin them around my mom FLIPS out!!! She lectures us - you are going to pull their arms out of their sockets - we all laugh at her and ask her is she has every actually heard of that happening to someone - we all just think she is bonkers!!! and now you have proven her right!!!!! Now my dilemma - do I tell her or not?!!?

Are you kidding??!! You can't tell your mother she is right!! If she is anything like my mother, you'll really never hear the end of it!!!!! :lmao: The worst part is that I've become my mother with my girls. I hear myself saying something to them and want to slap myself! I'm trying to tell them things only once because they need to learn by themselves but I don't know if I'll be successful!! :rotfl:

Good for you Deb! Baby steps are a good thing! I am more likely to reach my long-term goal if I set small goals along the way.

Good Morning DDA,

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: All around

Things have been hectic here, I've tried to catch up but haven't done a very good job. We've had to have two of our vehicles worked on since we've been back and my DH was in the emergency room until late last night. He's been diagnosed with gout and his foot is really giving him a fit right now. I think it has a lot to do with all the alcohol he consumed on our trip.

castle.jpg

Here's a picture of us with the DGS, he had a matching shirt on earlier in the day but it didn't make it all day, too many spills. Another plus to wearing matching shirts is how much easier it is to spot everyone, especially the bright colored ones. The two younger couples were in line for the backlot tour and were picked to be the actors, they're sure they were picked because of their bright yellow shirts, it made them stand out in the crowd.

There was a large group of people at our hotel with shirts one day, and I'm sure the design was one of Kate's. It was the Walt Disney World one with all the characters in the letters. The frame on my picture here is also one of Kate's.

Gotta run, I have a few errands ot do before heading out to work.

Have a great day,
Debbie

It absolutely makes sense! If Matthew were to come right now, you could stop worrying about what you are not going to get done! I totally understand!!!!

We can't wait to hear the news tomorrow about Matthew's arrival. Have Kevin post pictures as soon as he can too!!!

Kate -- so glad to hear that Nick is doing well -- when is his next set of tests, and when is your knee surgery? I've been praying on both topics and hoping all is well.

Nice picture! He still matched even after getting changed. The blue in his shirt seems to be the same color blue in your shirts!
