Just checking in...We went to see Cars this morning, there were 7 of us plus Brooksie. Will post pictures later. All the kids loved it but boy was it hard to get Mo to actually watch the movie. Right now I am enjoying the quietness of my house. Emma is at my MIL with her cousin and Mo is napping. Eric is doing laundry and cleaning our basement. I really should be doing something!! But I am going to catch up.

The whole Brooks family loved Cars so I'm glad to here that Brooksie did too. I love your new signature.

Hi everyone, hope you enjoyed your 4th of July!!!

We finally got to see Cars on Saturday...very cute! Mater was the best!
Had my son's baseball birthday party on Sunday. Went really well. The kids got to go in the pool & right after dinner the sky opened up so dessert was inside. Monday we went to the beach..beautiful..the kids didn't want to leave. Yesterday we went to Teddy Roosevelt's house on the North Shore of LI, Sagamore Hill. TR was there to speak to the crowd,(he really look & spoke like TR) shook hands, & took pictures with people. He made this really nice patriotic speech which was written almost 100 years ago but still stands true today about standing together & not separate as American's. Anyway, the house is lovely & the kids loved the Rough Riders reinactment. They got a close up look at all the horses & of course a trip to the gift shop for "teddy bears". There were fireworks from our local beach that we watched from the window...too crowded for us to drive down there. Well that sums up our long weekend.

Great pictures everyone!
Sounds like fun. I always thought seeing the fireworks at the beach would be fun, but it's an hour and a half drive to our beach and I'm not sure I would want to deal with traffic coming home. Maybe someday.

Chuck is going to drive me to drink! He really needs to go back to work! If he hangs around here every day, I think that I will probably strangle him. I feel like he is smothering me. I definitely know how SAHW feel when their husbands retire. I'm headed to the basement to get away from him. I guess this is a way for me to get my office finished since I can't stand being upstairs!
:grouphug: :wizard: that Chuck is able to go back to work soon so you don't turn into a boozer. :drinking1 :teeth:

I have sent you an email. If it does not come or the attachment doesn't open, let me know.

Back to page 2842 (wow am I behind or what!)

I think he'd have enough picture taking for awhile. He told the girls no more. He said he got the obligatory pictures for me but he'd had enough! :lmao:

I love how Colby's motorcycle is all decorated. Very cute. Looks like a good time. I bet your DS felt honored to get to carry the flag. :goodvibes

Off to Ellie's ballet class.

I only made it to pg 2846 (once again Christi wouldn't stop PMing me) ;)

Ok, so it's not CHristi's fault, but it's much more fun to make you all think I am slow because of her or someone else. :teeth:

Chat with you later.

Vicki,

How is Chuck? I see he didn't go the fireworks because he didn't feel like it. I hope he is doing better. :grouphug: and :wizard:

Glad that someone found them. Our Mcd's didn't have them although I told DH if we could stop at every MC D's on the way to IA we might find them. DH will be relieved to hear we won't be living off MC Donald's the whole car trip. :teeth: :rotfl2:
The funny thing is they had lots of them at two McDonalds when I got them for Denise. I got 5 Maters, the other 2 were for my cousins. I went looking them the next day for Theresa and to 4 McDonald's and none of them had any Mater's. 2 of them had no Cars toys at all.

I seriously lucked out for Denise as they didn't have them or wouldn't give them out the day before.

Too funny about eating at McDonald's the whole trip. I was at Atlantic City again yesterday the whole way there and back I kept passing McDonald's and I kept thinking I wonder if they have the toy somebody needs or wants. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Today Atlantic City is basically shut down as all of the casinos are closed.

Thank you

Just think how many Pal Mickey's you could buy instead - 17. Or BABW Mickey/Minnie sets - 23. Or just think of all the clothes you could buy for either of them!!!!!! :lmao:

Glynis, I love hearing you talk about your canning with so much enthusiasm. Chuck would like to can but I just can't bring myself to do it. Listening to you makes me a little more excited about it.

When I was growing up, we had to can because it was so much cheaper (even to buy some of the fruit & vegetables we didn't grow ourselves). It was a necessity. I do remember how much I loved seeing all those jars lined up on the shelves. I really miss my mothers applesauce. There is nothing better in the world. However, it was a lot of work and I came to hate it. Mom also had to sew my clothes anytime that I got new ones because we couldn't afford to buy new. Sometimes, it was great because mine were unique but sometimes I just wanted to be like the other kids. That is why I have an aversion for sewing which I'm trying to break.

If Chuck wants to do it, why can't he do it with only some help from you. Why must you do it? I know he is having medical problems but perhaps he could do it and it might make him feel useful. I don't know if he could :confused3 but perhaps he could give it a try if you found him instructions online or something.

That way he would have something to follow on how to do it and it would give him something to do. Perhaps you should ask him if he would like to do that? Or does he just mean he wants you to can, with no involvement from him??

I'm sorry that he is driving you crazy when he is at home. :wizard: and :grouphug: that he doesn't drive you crazy and :wizard: and :grouphug: that he feels better quickly so that he can go back to work. Is there something that you could find for him to do that isn't super strenuous so he might feel useful but so he also has something to do. I think canning might be an idea. :rolleyes1

Great pictures everyone it sounds like you all had a great holiday.

Oh he does! He has canned applesauce by himself and also tomatoes. I just don't want to help at all!!!!! He finds the instructions online himself or calls and gets them from mom. He is very handy in the kitchen. He just would like me to enjoy it with him and I just can't.

There are all kinds of things that he can do and he is doing them. He just keeps wanting me to help him or enjoy it with him or whatever. He wants someone to spend time with basically.
