The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 10

We finally got to McDonald's today..got my Captain Jack beenie!!!
They said they didn't have anymore so I very politely asked if they could check & wouldn't ya know it, they found 4!! So I got 1 for me & 3 for my kiddies.

I bought the 1st POC movie today at Target too..I am guess I am on pirate overload.

Went to the Dr's today. Check up on my high blood pressure. 130/90. Dr. wants me to watch my salt & try to exercise more. I told her how I have been feeling lately (pretty crappy actually) & she said I could be pregnant (which I highly doubt) or something to do with the BP. I had my blood taken today & am schedule for any ecco this week. I told her I wanted everything checked before I ride anything at Disneyworld since there have been so many horror stories lately. oh gosh, if i was preggers we'd need to look for another house!!!

Yes, we drove 2x to WDW from NYC.

The first time we drove was in 2002. Our kids were 2,3,&7 at the time. We drove from NYC to Savannah GA & stayed at the Holiday Inn Express there. Took the 2 days coming home as well. Stayed somehere in VA coming back.

We drove again in 2003. Kids were 3,4,& 8. This time we drove straight through from home to WDW. We left here on Halloween at 1 am (Friday) & arrived at the CBR at 6pm Saturday...17 hours. We did the drive coming home straight through also but it took 20 hours. I guess we weren't in that much of a hurry to get back home!

We are flying this August..got a good airfare $89pp each way but if I want to go again next year I know DH will want to drive to save some money.

The doctor's office just called and told me that Nicks test looks normal!

I still want to talk with Nick's doctor to find out what caused the original test to be abnormal -

but the nurse said that the echo is much more accurate than an EKG!!

I can not even tell you all how relieved I am!!!!

Last year in Feb. we stopped for the night in GA. & did the same on the way back. We took a dvd player to help keep the boys entertained. Not sure how long a drive you would have, but I would stay for the night somewhere if needed. It made such a difference on how we felt the day we arrived. We were refreshed & ready to go!

RE: Jodi Picoult, Vanishing Acts.

I think it may take me a bit longer to read it than most. I read the first chapter last night and was amazed that she was talking about specific areas around me. I've fished off the Orford/Fairlee Bridge, Chris and I have had a date in the Baker Library Bell Tower (18 years ago ) The NH State Trooper that she worked with and acknowlegdes in the book was a friend of mine that I graduated high school with (James Steinmetz). The town that she lives in is Hanover, NH (she changed the name for the book) Dartmouth College is in Hanover and I used to work there. Everytime a new place is mentioned I can actually see the real place rather than creating one in my mind. It is very strange.

I went to check the mail today and in with the regular stuff was the cars from Deb!! Thanks Deb!!
and.....drum roll please!!!! My replacement ID!!! so no one has to come and pick me up in Cleveland and I will be in Maryland a little after 6 tomorrow night. My bank card didn't come in the mail but that's something I can work around....thanks all for your Pixie dust and prayers...I am a much relieved camper right now!!


On a side note my daughters are right now painting shirts to wear tomorrow that says it's my mom's birthday. Thankfully they don't say how old I am.

we will have an 18 hr drive. was thinking about stopping some where overnight. What Kind of vechile did you drive.

This is a very favorite recipe of the family.

Oven Porcupines

1 lb ground beef 1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/2 c uncooked regular rice 1/8 tsp pepper
1/2 c water 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1/3 chopped onion 1 c water
1 tsp salt 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp celery salt

Heat oven to 350. Mix meat, rice, 1/2 c water, onion, salts, garlic powder and pepper. Shape mixture into rounded balls. (Now since it is just DH and I, I use less ground beef and I use a ice cream scoop and end up with 6 balls.) Place meatballs in ungreased baking dish 8x8x2. Stir together remaining ingredients; pour over meatballs. Cover with foil and bake 45 min. Uncover; bake 15 min longer. 4 to 6 servings

I usually serve green beans with this dish.

Absolutely. I'd love to hear from you. When do you think you'll be calling? You have both my home phone and cell phone. You'll need to call the cell phone if you call during the day as I'll be on the road but I should have coverage the whole time.

Nah, I really don't think so...I should hear back from the dr on the blood test tomorrow....I think I just need to loose some weight & get my BP down.

DH & I did get a tiny bit excited about the idea though.
