The Dasani Returns!!!! September Pre-Trip Adventures! THE NEWS REVEALED!

I just caught up...whew!! Love the report, reading both of yours really inspires me to do one for our trip in september.

Loved your parade pictures and the mudbugs look so good. It has been a long time since I went to a crawfish boil. They are so much fun.

Your nephew is just adorable. You and Darren look so natural with him ;) And, the picture where the baby is "down for the count".......looks like Aunt Heather is down for the count too........lol.

looks like the parade was a lot of fun. Your nephew is so cute. It looks pretty warm down there what is the average temperature for this time of year down there?

Thank you! We have been having some cool fronts coming through. Right now it's cold though! It's supposed to freeze in the morning! :sad2:

Such a fun few days!! Your newphew is adorable! Oh, and that crawfish boil looks to die for! We don't have those good things up North. I am looking at you in your short sleeves and getting jealous!

You like crawfish then?? That's odd to see from someone up north! It was chilly that morning, I was wearing a jacket, but it warmed up nicely. It was a beautiful day!

The parade looked like so much fun! How was the weather? It looks gorgeous out. Your nephew's ADORABLE! His hair's so cute :lmao: And your mom's yard looks really pretty. I'm used to the city where our yards are practically 4x4's so I'm always fascinated by grass and trees :rotfl2: Are crawfish like big shrimp?

It was really nice that day! The weather is COLD right now though. Hot one day, cold the next. It's rediculous!

Logan's hair is so crazy. It sticks up in the back, it was like that when he was born. And it comes straight down to a point in the front. It's so cute! This is when he was born:

I call him a little monkey.

:rotfl:

No, crawfish have a hard shell and shrimp have a soft shell. Crawfish are just like lobsters but way smaller.

That's funny that you like my mom's yard!! :lmao:

I loved your pictures of the parade. I wish I could have gone. And YES, that parking is absolutely MADDD! Once I almost got ran over because I was standing in a spot so that DH could move the car from an "illegal" spot that we found before we found the other spot. He was coming down the street, but then this other car literally started pulling right up to me and almost hit me before I jumped out of the way. I was $%^#@! at them like a sailor!

My DH told me I should have stood by ground but I don't think he realized these people meant business.

That crawfish looks SO good. I love how everyone takes pictures of the biggest one they can find. (we do that too) Here I am eating my little Uncrustables and I'm SALIVATING over that crawfish. My next boil is in 2 weeks and I can't wait! I think I'll starve myself to make sure I'm good and hungry for it :rotfl:

Your nephew is too cute! I love the picture of him on Darren's head. It looks like he is grinning ear to ear!

:scared1: Sorry you almost got ran over!! I would have been &%^*( too!

The crawfish were good. You'll enjoy yours alot! Thanks, I think that picture of them is so cute!!

I loved the pics of the Strawberry Festival!! Some of those berries were HUGE!!! Crazy steriod berries lol.

Your nephew is so adorable!! I just love babies.. You guys look like naturals too!

Great pictures, looks like fun. I love the one of your nephew on Darren's shoulder's, such a cute smile.:goodvibes

Thanks! Yes, he's so cute!!

Me too! I was thinking that you should frame the one of Darren and Logan's feet...make it B&W, it'd be cool!:thumbsup2

Those strawberry shots are amazing! Those sterroid berries are insane! I can't wait for our season!

That would be a cool picture! I might have to do that. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I miss crawfish when they go out of season. We usually do a boil every weekend when they're cheap.

Whats the wink for, huh?? :lmao: I'm not down for the count, I was trying to get out of the picture...Didn't work too well I guess! :rotfl:

Hey Heather, Looks like you had a great weekend. We spent the weekend at my In laws in Liberty MS (about 45 min north of B.R) and my MIL suggested going to the Strawberry Fest. but we decided to boil crawfish instead.
The few times I have been to the fest I remember the parking was CRAZY. Were the strawberries sweet? It looks like Squirt was really enjoying them. .

Your nephew is the cutest.
Thanks for sharing.

Hey Heather, only just caught up, my Mum and that arrived yesterday after work so have been busy get the house tidy and entertaining them.

The parade pics are cool, it looks like fun even though an odd concept. Would love to come to Louisiana one day and go to a parade like that, and of course go to Mardi gras.

The crawfish boil looks quite cool, dont know if I could eat any though cause I dont like things with heads :confused3. Would love to have one here though, or have one in the USA it looks like fun.

Those pictures of you and your nephew on the swing are adorable, he is so cute and you look so cute together. And the turtle is cute, I want one :thumbsup2

You guys look like you had a blast - and those strawberries look yummers! I so wish I wasn't allergic!

Your little nephew is so cute!

I :lmao: at the little monkey comment and pictures of your nephew. I'm sure he'll have a thing or two to say about that when he gets older. :rotfl:

Oh my goodness!! That's the most fascinating photo I've seen on these boards for a long, long time!! Who knew turtles ate strawberries!? Wow!

Although here in Australia, we're not allowed to keep turtles as pets, so maybe everybody knew that turtles like to eat strawberries! :confused3

Love your outfit for the parade, too! Cute strawberry painting on your cheek! Very festive! :thumbsup2 You even wore red flip-flops!

(One more difference between Australia / America... here we call flip-flops, "thongs". Now I know you use the term thongs for something else... ahem! So lucky I didn't say, "You even wore red thongs!")

:lmao:

great parade pics, and those straweberries look just like the ones that we are getting in our stores now...i think they are coming from your area...they look just about as big as those, and they are ohhhh so good.

we went through about 5 pounds of them in the last week.

Great new pics Heather. The strawberries look so yummy. I have never eat crawfish, but they look good. But in the north we do the Maryland crabs!
Which talking about it all just makes me want for summer more!:woohoo:

if I may...

First of all, you have to know what a crawfish is...we also call them "mudbugs" in some areas. Also, Crawdads and Crayfish are other terms. Although I don't PERSONALLY know anyone who says "crayfish"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crawfish

here's what the delicious little buggers look like when boiled

100_2277.jpg

We boil them in a giant pot outside in water with lots of seasoning, including crab boil, we also add potatoes, corn, garlic, onions, and MANY other things up to the boiler's discretion.

They soak up all that yummy seasoning, and you eat them by ripping off their tails, peeling the shell, and eating the meat inside the tail. The claws also have edible meat in them, and lots of people like to suck the heads to get all that spicy juice out of there.

I promise..it's good. :)

Ok, to this "Jersey Girl", those things look like what Timon ate in "The Lion King" - "Slimy, yet satisfying" -

The STRAWBERRIES, however, look awesome! A little too early for them up here... can't wait to go strawberry picking in a month or so! :cutie:

Your nephew is adorable! ;)

Hey girl!! Glad you caught up. Thanks!!! You'll just have to try a crawfish one day! You don't eat the heads, although some people suck the heads (I don't! :scared: ) My tail has to be as clean as possible too! :rotfl2:

You guys look like you had a blast - and those strawberries look yummers! I so wish I wasn't allergic!

Your little nephew is so cute!

Aww sorry you're allergic! I shouldn't have teased you with them.

I :lmao: at the little monkey comment and pictures of your nephew. I'm sure he'll have a thing or two to say about that when he gets older. :rotfl:

Nah, he'll like it! :rotfl: He's the cutest little monkey I've ever seen!

Red thongs!!! :rotfl: :lmao: I'm cracking up. I know alot of people call flip flops thongs, so HOPEFULLY I would have known what you meant!

I didn't know turtles ate strawberries...He usually eats grass, lettuce, and clovers. He's a desert tortoise, he'll grow to be like 100 lbs. or more. And he'll live to be about 150. (Like Crush! ;) )

great parade pics, and those straweberries look just like the ones that we are getting in our stores now...i think they are coming from your area...they look just about as big as those, and they are ohhhh so good.

It looks like the parade was fun!! Your nephew is such a doll!!!

Ok, finally able to get back on and catch up. Looks like the parade was fun. Love the little strawberry on your cheek, very cute. Those strawberries look delicious! I must say I wouldn't fit in in the south though because I would never eat those crawfish. That just looks and sounds disgusting to me, I hate seafood though and that's along the same lines.

Anyway, Logan is absolutely adorable. I just LOVE his hair and how it looks like a mohawk, especially the side view of you holding him on the pool. TOO CUTE! How old is he again?

Those strawberries look great. We are just starting to get decent strawberries in the stores up here. Local strawberries are not till June. We don't even have leaves on the trees right now, but real soon I hope. It looks so green in your pictures.

Squirt is too cute. Great name!

Your nephew is just adorable! That's so nice that your family live so close together.
