The Darlings Caved Already! A Sept. '12 PTR -- Sept. 26 - TR link posted!

Those are beautiful shots! :goodvibes :worship: I hope you get tons of business!

I'm all packed and ready for Disney.

:lmao:

Sort of.

Today I hauled out all my summer clothes and sorted. My Disney-ready pile consisted of just 8 tops and 12 shorts that I deemed:
-Fit well
-In good shape
-Comfortable
-I like

I also had 3 shirts and 3 shorts that went in the "emergency -- could wear if necessary" pile. So it looks like I'm good for shorts but will need a few tops before I go.

In a week and a half I am going on a tiny overnight mini trip to Halifax to see Cirque du Soleil's show Dralion. I'm very excited to see the show, this will be my 4th Cirque show live and I love them all. A trip to Halifax also means some serious shopping! They have a few nice malls there and we have NOTHING here in the Cape so I'm making a list of clothes to buy for Disney! :cool1: Nothing better than a Disney clothes shopping excursion! :cool1:

(Except of course Disney itself!)

Congrats on the new job.:thumbsup2

I wish I was closer to you, I would definitely bring my dogs in to get their picture taken. As soon as I bring a camera near them, they run away.:confused3

Your trip to Halifax sounds like a lot of fun! Enjoy shopping! I like nothing better than shopping for a Disney trip! I love pulling the tags off new clothes when I get there!

Sounds like you're ahead of the game :thumbsup2

Also, we're going to see Dralion too! On May 6th...it looks awesome :cool1: I'm sure you'll find lots of tops here...there's a Gap outlet in Bayers Lake that's supposed to be good too, but I've never been there yet...

Those photographs are awesome! I wish I could get nice shots like those of my pets, and I'm sure I'm not the only pet-owner who thinks the same, so hopefully it'll all work out. :thumbsup2

Your trip sounds like a lot of fun. I've always wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show; I bet they are great. And shopping...what's better than Disney shopping?!:confused3:rotfl:

I need to lose about 40 pounds ideally. I'd like to lose 20 pounds by Disney. That's 23.5 weeks, and 0.85 pounds per week. Definitely do-able! I've just had some breakfast so now I'm off to clean all the fish tanks, a task that requires lugging approximately 15 5gal buckets of water back and forth. Then I'm hitting the treadmill for a run :thumbsup2

Wish me luck!

No... wait...

Wish me motivation!

Good Luck On Your Weight Loss!
I have been reading your pre-trip report. Planning our 3rd family trip in November. I joined Weight Watchers last September and have lost 27 pounds! I have 8 more to go to get to goal weight. Losing up to 2 pounds a week is the best way to lose weight and keep it off! Stay motivated and keep the easier trek thru the parks in mind!

Please tell me your favourite Disney movie that's not too popular. You know, not like The Little Mermaid or Up or The Lion King or ones like those. The slightly obscure little gems, or the older and forgotten movies, movies that some places in WDW refer to but no one really knows it. Things like that.

There are a few popular ones I haven't seen too, I'm out to broaden my Disney horizons!

Now it's your turn!

My favorite all-time Disney movie is Fantasia! The original one. I remember seeing it when I was a little kid at the theater and just being mesmerized by the music. I still love the Nutcracker music from that movie!
I also love The 3 Caballeros - you can see them at the Mexico ride in Epcot!
And I love the original Parent Trap movie - with Haley Mills - not animated but still fun!

Your pet pictures are so adorable! I don't know how you got those cats to sit so nicely! My cats would never do that! :rotfl2:

Haha, I can't believe you're going through your clothes already! I just tried on some shorts to make sure they still fit (surprisingly they do!) but I'm going to TRY to just wear capris, I hate wearing shorts! But if it's unbearably hot, I suppose I don't have a choice! I've heard it's unseasonably warm in FL right now. :sad2:

Have fun shopping, I love shopping for Disney trips! :yay:

Sounds like you're ahead of the game :thumbsup2

Looks like the DIS ppl are invading the Metro Centre... I'm going on the 3rd, Wendy on the 4th and you on the 6th! nice :)

I'm super pumped! one more week! :dance3:

oh and that Gap outlet is nice... my fav outlet in Bayers Lake is Old Navy though :)

Congrats on the new job.:thumbsup2

I wish I was closer to you, I would definitely bring my dogs in to get their picture taken. As soon as I bring a camera near them, they run away.:confused3
Thank you! Lots of dogs don't like to get their picture taken. I guess the big odd looking machine in front of their owners' faces sets them off a little. :rotfl:

Thanks, I know I will :thumbsup2 haha, shopping is fun anyway, but planning the clothes for a Disney trip is extra awesome!

Sounds like you're ahead of the game :thumbsup2

Oh awesome! I'm going on the 4th. I hope you enjoy the show too :goodvibes

Thank you! I hope you're right :goodvibes
Cirque shows are just... beyond words. They're really amazing in every way. I'm on a mission to see as many as possible!

I did consider Weight Watchers but it's just too expensive and hard to get to for me right now. I'm seeing it coming off very slowly which is fine by me -- as long as it's going down I don't care how slow it goes! :rotfl:

Fantasia is one I don't think I've ever seen all the way through. I've probably seen the whole thing bits at a time! It's on my to-watch list for sure.

Thank you! The cats amazed me. I never expected them to sit so good either! It's surprising what they'll do for treats ;)
Haha I don't normally start with my clothes this early before a trip, but with our Halifax shopping weekend coming up I needed to take inventory! :rotfl:
Oh dear... unseasonably warm? I hope it's not unseasonably warm in September! I can barely stand their normal temps!

Looks like the DIS ppl are invading the Metro Centre... I'm going on the 3rd, Wendy on the 4th and you on the 6th! nice :)

We'll probably end up at the MicMac. Johnny wants to go to Princess Auto of course, so he might just drop me off at the mall and go there.

Have a great time at Cirque!! (And at shopping!! :thumbsup2)
Thanks! I'm sure I will, I love these little mini-getaways :thumbsup2

We'll probably end up at the MicMac. Johnny wants to go to Princess Auto of course, so he might just drop me off at the mall and go there.

Seee..... I can't do the bridges, and everything that I would have done in the MicMac is at the Halifax Shopping Centre, and that was closer to my hotel when I was there last weekend... only thing HSS doesn't have is Old Navy which is in Bayers Lake, but if you do go to the Mic Mac enjoy!

I can't believe this week is Cirque-that's unbelievable!

Down Time is the time after you've booked all your hotels, meals, and extras, got your flights, planned your parks and before you actually get to start packing and going. It's a time when you wonder what on Earth you're going to fill your PTR with for the next little while.

I've been filling my Down Time with obsessive research on the Art of Animation Resort and let me tell you, it is a time consuming process! We are just about a month away from the first stage opening to the public and new information is coming in fast and furious. I thought I would share some of it with you!

First, if you are interested in this resort and would like to get the updates as they come, the Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel thread is sort of the official unofficial go to place for all lovers of AoA.

AoA will be laid out almost identical to Pop Century if you are familiar with that layout. A main building houses the check in desks:

... the arcade:

... and the bus stops:

There are four sections of rooms. A Finding Nemo section, opening May 31 and entirely comprised of family suites will be considered the main section. A family suite has a master bedroom, two bathrooms, a kitchenette, a dining area that turns into a bed and a living area with pullout couch. It will sleep 6. Located directly outside of Animation Hall, it has two buildings (#4 & #5), the main pool, a kids pool and a dry playground:

A Cars section, opening on June 18 and also consisting of family suites has three buildings (#1, #2, & #3) and a quiet pool, the "Cozy Cone Pool":

A Lion King section opening on August 10, again with family suites. This section has two buildings (#6 & #10) and is the only section with no pool. Instead it has the Elephant Graveyard, an elaborate playground:

Finally, the Little Mermaid section opens on September 15, the day before I check in. It features three buildings (#7, #8, and #9) and a quiet pool called the "Flippin Fins Pool". These three buildings are the only ones that have normal value rooms and no inside hallways. It is the furthest from the main building and bus stops. As it is the last to be finished, there are very few pictures of it yet. I can't wait for more!

Here
is Disney's official video, released a few days ago.

The food court, Landscape of Flavors, looks set to become one of the best food courts around. According to the Disney Parks Blog, the food court will feature many build your own options, tandoor ovens, a mongolian grill and real gelato. Lots of healthy options will be offered, but they will also have traditional pizza and burgers.

The Big Blue Pool is the largest pool on Disney property (outside of the water parks). Among its many awesome features are The Drop-Off pool bar, a zero entry, water-trickling giant jellyfish and an underwater sound system! According to Inside the Magic, "[...] music along with the sounds of Dory, Nemo, and other “Finding Nemo” characters will be periodically heard underwater in the pool." It is a gated pool which will require your Art of Animation KTTW to get in.

Adorably, the pool rules are to be found on P. Sherman's goggles:

The reviews are already starting, by media members given tours and they are all very impressed. Several have even stated that this resort is closer to a deluxe than a value!

The more information I get the more excited I become. Originally this was going to be my first Disney trip with nothing particularly special about it (except a 2nd anniversary) and now it's turned into a very exciting trip for us. I'm so happy to say that Johnny is just as excited as I am and scours the internet looking for new information almost as much as me!

The down side?

With this much excitement how will I ever manage to pass the next 140 days!?
