It seems as though you had such a great trip and I'm so envious that you will be traveling back in January! Good luck with the half! I "run" those, too, though not yet at WDW. I have to say, the only full marathon I am interested in considering is the Disney Marathon. If I'm going to train that hard and run that far, then I want someplace AMAZING to surround me! GOOD LUCK!
And a Disney cruise for Wendy -- lucky girl! How exciting. And so much fun that you will get a boys' trip.

My January trip is going to be real quick. We're only staying 2 nights and will probably only visit the MK, but it's Disney so I'm just happy to be going. You should definitely try a Disney race sometime. They are so much fun. I agree with you about the only whole marathon I ever want to do is the Disney. And mostly that is because I get to run thru all 4 parks instead of just 2 in the half and I think the medal is really cool. (Disney races have the best medals) I hope you do report your upcoming trip. Make sure to let me know if you do. Have a fabulous time on your trip and thanks for reading.I'm sad it's over too

We did have a great time on the trip! The best Disney trip yetI am only on page 12 but thought I would thank you for writing this report. I am enjoying it a lot, you look like you had a great time.
The thing I like the best about trip reports is how differently everyone does it.
I was also a seat saver on our trip, I am sorry if I make people cranky, but if I have to take two small children up and wait in line with me then everyone around us, them and I would be cranky. I tell myself I am doing it for the greater good.

Sorry it took me until now to get caught up. Glad you liked SSR, we did as well. I totally agree on buying DVC, initial investment isn't so bad, but the fees every year have made us think twice. BC sounds wonderful, it's on my radar as well as the Poly for our next trip (whenever that may be!).
Best of luck in the half-marathon. We have friends that are competitive triathletes that have done both the half and full with very positive experiences

Yea I would love to buy DVC, but the fees which would come to at least a grand every year for the rest of our lives is a little hard to swallow. Like I said you never know what is going to happen in life and those thousands may come in handy sometime (like in 10 years when we have two in college)

We've had an offer accepted for 50 points at the Boardwalk villas
We have to wait for right of first refusal, but our agent doesn't forsee that as a problem. So basically in about 6 weeks we will be official DVC owners! Of course we are very excited! We've never actually been to our new home, but we know we love the Epcot resort area. (Anyone that read this report can't doubt my devotion to that area) We decided to go with Boardwalk because it's cheaper and has a standard view that uses substantially less points than Beach Club. So with a little banking, borrowing, and transferring we are planning on our first vacation at our new home for the marathon 2011. I know it's a ways away, but that is OK because with DVC there is never a last trip (At least not until 2042) Just wanted to share my happy news with my DIS friends! And keep your eyes opened for a half marathon trip report come January. I've already started thinking of potential titles

My husband and I often regret not buying into Disney Vacation Club waaaay back when we first started visiting Disney. You know, back in the day when we didn't have a child in private school, a child in college, three automobile insurance policies, etc. etc. etc.

We started out small because we don't want to get in over our heads with maintainence fees in the days that we're paying college tuition for 3 kids so I totally hear ya!Hopefully that time will come for you, but you don't have to be DVC to keep going back. I wouldn't rush it before you are readyCongratulations Jenny! Matt and I so want to do it to, but it's not the right time. Hopefully that day will come.
