The Darling Family June Beach Club Trip:Hugging Ewoks and Finding Peter Pan

the Plaza sounds great -we haven't been there yet!!
Great princess pictures--I have heard several good reports about Belle's fun interaction with people--glad you guys had a great experience with her:cool1:

The poor balloon guy.:( It looks like he was having quite a hard time. Glad to hear that despite the dark clouds that the rain held off for you.:)

We've never been to the Plaza. But will definitely have to check it out.:thumbsup2 Your daughter's sandwich was too cute!!;)

Now, I'm curious what she decided to do. Spectro or seeing the Fairies?....Can't wait to find out.popcorn::

Great princess photos!! That line used to be so long but now, thanks to the fairies, it's manageable!

I never even thought much about Plaza until we were waiting for Spectro one night and I was just wandering. Looks like something I need to check out more for next trip!!

Spectro or fairies?? Oh, the decisions! I know I would pick Spectro, my dd said she couldn't pick just one-she'd have to do both.:goodvibes It can go either way....popcorn::

Oh I love the Plaza! Wendy's dinner looked so healthy :)

Cute pics with the princesses. Can't wait to see if Wendy decides to see the fairies or not.

OK, I didn't guess the Plaza, but I enjoy their food! Next time, I'll have to urge DD to get the sandwhich it's too cute!

Great TR so far! I enjoyed your SWW pictures. The one of your DS hugging the Ewok is priceless!! I had to laugh when you were talking about the R2-D2...we ended up getting one and had to ship a box home because of that baby! DH had to have it. SW is his obsession as Disney is mine! What could I say?! Can't wait to hear more!

Cute Princess photos. I love those photopass borders. Hmmm..I really hope she wanted to meet the fairies. They're definitely worth the wait, but missing Spectro? Looking forward to hearing which she picked!
It was a tough choice for her!

Belle has always had the most to talk about with DD. Maybe it is because she is well read:rotfl:

DD and I sure did get a kick about that balloon guy! It's amazing the rain never came:confused3 Definitely look into the Plaza. We loved it. You'll have to wait a little longer to find out the big decision.

Shorter Princess lines. Definitely a bonus that has come with the Fairies:goodvibes What does DD pick?popcorn::

Her meal was healthy if you ignore the deep fried potatoes and ice cream for dessert:lmao:

I thought the sandwich was just perfect:goodvibes

:welcome: Thanks for stopping by. That is funny you have the R2-D2. Does he wander around the house and startle visitors? I'm sure if shipping hadn't been an issue we'd have one too:goodvibes

We don't have batteries in it yet...somehow I keep forgetting to pick those up. I'm sure DH will remind me one of these times. I'm afraid the dogs are going to attach it!

I love that you and Wendy both found Prince Caspian charming...My DD really wasn't that interested in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe but I recently found her cleaning in her room watching the 2nd Narnia film the one featuring the handsome Prince Caspian-when I mentioned I didn't think she was interested in Narnia she told me that this was a much more interesting film to her than the first...interesting...:lmao:

Interesting how those batteries seem to keep slipping your mind:rolleyes: If you ever do get them I want a report on that R2D2

It's amazing what influence a cute guy can have on a young girl;)

What did Wendy decide? She was a tad bit torn. She knew how much I wanted to meet the fairies, but she really wanted to see the parade. Plus 60 minutes in line does not sound like fun. She asked me if we could try to meet them another day. I asked the CM when the best time was. He suggested either late on a night they were open later or 1st thing in the morning. I asked him what time I needed to line up in the morning. He hemmed and hawed. It was pretty obvious to me he didn’t want to admit Toontown actually opens at 9:45 (again info I garnered from the DIS). So I said, “OK you open at 9:45 so if I’m at the Toontown rope at 9:30 will I be out of here by 10:00?” The CM actually looked relieved as he nodded and said that would be perfect. They must be under strict orders to give opening time as 10:00. So armed with that knowledge Wendy chose to skip the Fairies this evening and watch the parade instead.:goodvibes

It was around 8:00 and the parade didn’t start until 9:00 so we still had time. I was still hoping for an audience with the Big Cheese so we checked out his line. Out the door again:confused3 Oh well. Wendy wanted to visit Minnie’s house again. It’s one of her favorite places in Magic Kingdom.:cutie: We walked through the house and she insisted on pictures. Here are a few.

While we were in the kitchen we met a father with his young adult daughter who had the hidden Mickey book. They pointed out a few hidden Mickey’s to Wendy (there is one in the fridge and several in the cabinets.) Wendy loved it! They also pointed out the flowers in the back porch area. I’d never noticed them before and they were cute. :cutie: (Sorry no pictures). They had daisies with Daisy Ducks face and tulips made of two lips. Check them out next time you’re there.
Next Wendy wanted to ride something in Fantasyland. I warned her lines could be long, but we checked them out anyway. They were all too long for Wendy. Even Snow White was 20 minutes. She decided she wanted to go on Buzz (which surprised me because in the past she thought this ride was too boyish), so we headed to Tomorrowland to get a fastpass. I snapped this picture on the way.
DSC00582.jpg

After picking up our Buzz fastpass I decided it was time to stake out our spot for Spectro. We headed down to Main Street, but things were looking crowded. Instead of securing a spot, we took a picture.

I decided we’d have a better shot at a good viewing spot in Frontierland and I was right. We found a front row seat (on the pavement) and settled in for a short wait. While we waited we had a nice chat with the family from Texas sitting next to us. The parade began and I handed over the camera to Wendy. Here are some of the shots she took.

I just love this parade! It’s extra magical with the characters and the lights! With the parade over we still have those fastpasses for Buzz. Would we have time to make it to Tomorrowland, ride Buzz and still get a spot for Wishes?

Catch up time again for me!! :faint: (I'm starting back with your 7/9 update!!)

You and Wendy look so cute with Leia Minnie!

Aww, More Ewok love for Michael!

Love you guys as Stormtroopers!!

Sounds like you had a very pleasant end to that day..your feet in the sand and watching Illuminations...ahhhh

Day 3...I have those foggy morning pictures too.

You stood exactly where we were when watching the Stormtroopers do their morning show, perfect spot!

Darth IS intimidating!!! :scared: Love dh playing along with him!

We saw that same Princess Leia... I was waiting with ds#4 while the others rode Star Tours, and she was doing greets RIGHT next to us. It was fun watching her interact with people. One single young woman went to her and I wonder if she was trying to become a "friend" of Princess Leia. She totally looked the part and she spent a long time conversing with her.

Yay! Jedi Mickey!

You got so many great SW character pix!!!

...and great SW parade pix too!

We did Pizza Planet when it was packed once UGH (all the other times we got there at open and had the place to ourselves). We had to do that hovering thing where you look for people who seem to be about done and stand nearby them. And we had other people trying to get the same tables. It was nuts.

:rotfl::rotfl: The whole thing with that freaky SW lady with the long fingers....dh not noticing the photopass guy, John see's the sign ahead for your next stop, the street battle begins and the padawans try to protect the innocent..... You cracked me up!!

We looked at the R2D2 too! lol

And I already told you that we LOVE the SW face pix of you guys!!! OH MY!!!! :rotfl:

Cool shirt and magnet!

DS#1 wanted to "do Narnia" so we went over there. We soon realized that the walk through part was what we had already done, and the only new thing was to meet the Prince. Needless to say, none of the boys wanted to do that! lol Wendy looks happy heehee!!

Aw, love Sorcerer Mickey!! Great pix of you guys!

Cool you had some "me time"! I agree that alien is scary! When we rode it I covered the little ones eyes when we got to that part. They never knew what they missed.

Aw, poor kiddo John was tuckered out! So cute!

Sounds like the boys had a nice evening.

"...so after we finished with him we headed to the other guy that was about 10 feet away." You are too funny with the PhotoPass, girl!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Love the double Tinks!

Cute kid food at the Plaza! I really want to try that cheesesteak.

Pretty Princess pix...especially Bell. :teeth:

Did I know that Toontown opens at 9:45?!?!?!?!

Oooh, very pretty nighttime castle pic! :cloud9:

Wendy took some good Spectro pix!

Keep up the great report, I love all the details!! :thumbsup2

Good choice, Wendy.:thumbsup2 I'm sure the fairies were waiting for you when you came back.

It looks like you and Wendy had some fun mother/daughter time.:goodvibes I'll say it again, what genius to split some of your Disney time between the kids.

Looking forward to more!:goodvibes

Yay!!:yay: She picked Specto!! Now, I would love to see the fairies too but I couldn't imagine missing SpectroMagic. I just love that parade!!:cloud9:

I didn't know that Toontown actually opens at 9:45am.:confused3 Hmmm...I guess I need to do some better research.:rotfl:

Love the night pictures in front of the castle!! They are just beautiful.:lovestruc

Great job, Wendy on the SpectoMagic pictures:thumbsup2

Oh..I almost forgot. Thanks for all the hidden Mickey info!! We are always on the lookout for them. We will definitely be checking them out!!!;)

Great night time shots. I love the castle at night and the brilliant lights of Spectro parade. Sounds like a good night!! We liked Plaza too for dinner. I loved the picture of DS sleeping in the chair - poor little guy was wiped out!! Great report so far! :thumbsup2

. . .

Keep up the great report, I love all the details!! :thumbsup2
Oh my goodness Liz! I think you took notes while you read to have so many comments. That's great because there is a big test coming up at the end:rotfl: Just one more day until you make your debut (of course with all my wordiness that could take a week:laughing:)

Good choice, Wendy.:thumbsup2 I'm sure the fairies were waiting for you when you came back.

It's always fun to spend time with Wendy. She's such a pleasant girl and she loves to laugh at me:goodvibes

I'm glad we got to see Spectro this trip. Though that night I was rooting for the fairies. Will we get to see them later? Stay tuned:goodvibes

Great night time shots. I love the castle at night and the brilliant lights of Spectro parade. Sounds like a good night!! We liked Plaza too for dinner. I loved the picture of DS sleeping in the chair - poor little guy was wiped out!! Great report so far! :thumbsup2

I love night time at the MK. Especially in the summer when we can still wear short and t-shirts:thumbsup2 The picture of DS sleeping on the patio makes me smile every time I see it:goodvibes

The parade was over and everyone in Frontierland was heading towards Main Street. I wanted to get to Tomorrowland. What should we do? Go through Liberty Square and Fantastyland of course:) Though it was a few more steps to our destination there was no gridlock as we wandered over to Buzz Lightyear. We arrived armed with fastpasses and plenty of time to ride before Wishes:thumbsup2 After we conquered Zurg, Wendy wanted this picture.
DSC00618.jpg

We now needed to secure our Wishes viewing spot. I love watching the Fireworks from Main Street, but I also knew it would be super crowded and we may have trouble finding a spot where Wendy could see:confused: So we stopped on the Tomorrowland Bridge and got a spot right by the railing. I thought it was a pretty good spot considering we got there about 15 minutes before showtime. After a short wait, Wishes began:cool1:. I, like most of you, love this fireworks display. The combination of the music, the scenery and the fireworks themselves transport me to my ideal world. A happy place where everything we dream is possible!:cloud9: Gotta love it. Though, I must say I didn’t like this view as much as Main Street. You can see the fireworks really well, but they go off next to the castle instead of behind it. It was still wonderful and it was one of those moments I didn’t want to be anywhere else. (Every moment is pretty much like that in Disney World!)

The fireworks ended. The park was officially closed. Now it was time for what Wendy was looking forward to most. Shopping down Main Street.:woohoo: I’m really not much of a shopper, but Wendy loves it. I thought this would be a perfect time to shop. No boys around plus we weren’t in any kind of hurry to join the throngs leaving the park and cramming on buses. We spent nearly an hour browsing and Wendy had a great time.:goodvibes She was determined to buy something, but couldn’t decide on what. All she knew was that she wanted something, “that looks like me.” After looking and debating about her myriad of choices this is what she finally ended up with
photos004.jpg

Cute, isn’t it? I thought she made a good choice.:thumbsup2
It was getting late and I knew we should head back to the resort, but I didn’t want to. I just love the Magic Kingdom at night and it’s so much fun with Wendy who doesn’t mind just browsing around and posing for photos.:cutie: Alas, the night needed to come to end. The street sweepers were out and the crowds were definitely thinning. I snapped this night picture
DSC00624.jpg

Wendy posed for this picture
DSC00625.jpg

And the camera battery died. It was time to leave.:sad2: We headed out to catch the bus. One pulled up right away and it was just us and one other family on our ride back to the Beach Club.:cool1: Definitely the way to go. Much better than standing room only if we’d left at official closing. We headed to our room and crawled into bed. I was hoping we could sleep in a bit tomorrow morning. Would the boys allow it?

Cute watch, Wendy.:cutie: She sounds a lot like my middle daughter, the girly shopper girl.

MK at night is absolutely magical. Its nice to just soak in the ambiance.

Ooh, hope you get a little extra sleep!

Oh my goodness Liz! I think you took notes while you read to have so many comments. That's great because there is a big test coming up at the end:rotfl: Just one more day until you make your debut (of course with all my wordiness that could take a week:laughing:)

:rotfl: Yes, I am preparing for the big test!
Actually, I post my reply in a new window...so I can post comments as I read along. :thumbsup2
I'm glad you'll be a bit before you get to Day 5....take your time. lol

Sounds like you and Wendy had a wonderful MK evening!! :cloud9: I love her new watch, so cute!!

Yipee! Spectro it was! I love that parade:love: I do hope you and Wendy get to see the Fairies later in the trip though-they are so much fun!

You got some great photos too! What a great night overall.:goodvibes

I thought I told you already but maybe I didn't. We bought that R2D2 when we were there. He's quite cute and does have an off switch so he doesn't wander around when you don't want him out. My DS loves to put him on room guard so if anyone goes to close to his room, the alarm goes off. Drives the dog mad!
