The Darling Family June Beach Club Trip:Hugging Ewoks and Finding Peter Pan

An afternoon at SAB...:cloud9: We never tried the gelato but we loved the bakery stuff there.

Boo to the grumpiness! I have been there, done that mulitple times with my two- just not at Disney. Maybe that's because I don't slow down enough to let them nap!:rolleyes1

I bet the magic of the monorail and Chef Mickey's will take over and the grumps will go away!:goodvibes
I'm still not sure that nap was such a good idea. Next time I'll probably just keep them go go going.

Sounds like you had a great afternoon.:thumbsup2 SAB sounds like so much fun!!

Aww...sorry for all the grumpiness. I hope everyone cheers up in time for Chef Mickey's!! (I'm betting that they did.;)--especially once they saw the fab five!!:goodvibes)
You'll have to wait and see if they cheer up or notpopcorn::

BC gelato sounds like a fabulous lunch.:cloud9: Especially followed by SAB.:goodvibes

Aw, I hate the grumpys, but sometimes waking up is just so hard to do. I bet they get out of their funk once they get some food. Was the last thing they had to eat gelato? Maybe a blood sugar crash was fueling the bad moods?
I'm pretty sure they had a cereal bar when we came in from swimming, but you could be right about their lack of food affecting their mood:confused3

Woohoo yay me, I figured it out! lol

The family shot of you all walking is my favorite. :goodvibes

Ahhh, grumpy kids after naptime, not fun times, I know!

"(And that is mostly because I could carry him into it)" So funny... :rotfl: Cute picture of you two though!

I've heard this comment too! LOL: “I bet she is beautiful when she smiles.” (just insert he for she.) Poor Wendy in that picture! LOL!!! She looks tortured!!

Aww, love how Peter Pan wanted to get off the Monorail at the CR!
The shot of us walking is my favorite too:goodvibes
The kids were grumpy, but if they'd been happy I wouldn't have got that great shot of a tortured Wendy! Such a mean mom:rotfl:

I wanted to say Hi and I just got caught up on your TR and have loved every second of what I have read. We are staying at the beach clubs when we go to Disney in September. Your TR has made me even more excited for our trip (I didn't know that was possible). My DH is a huge Star Wars fan and I know we will go for Star Wars Weekend at some point. I can't wait to read the rest of your TR. You have a beautiful family!

One questions, did you order your photopass CD from a certain site? I have heard of people pre ordering it but I wasn't sure where you go to do that.
:welcome: I'm so jealous you will be at the BC in Sept. It is just heavenly:cloud9: I'll send you a PM with the photopass pre-order link.

I understand about being grumpy after a nap. Unless I get a LONG nap I am grumpy too. There is not enough time at WDW to take a long nap, so I don't ever nap there.

Your photo shoot pictures turned out great.

Thanks for the compliments on the pictures. I think maybe the nap should have been a little longer, but you live and learn, right?

I also understand about being grumpy after a short nap, I usually do better to just push through being tired. DH on the other hand would rather take a short nap! Hopefully the 3 grumpys go away and you enjoyed a nice dinner with Mickey and friends!

Thank you so much I just got it! I am definitely preordering that. Might as well save the money since we always buy it anyways. This will be our first stay at the beach clubs and I can't wait!

I love your photo shoot pics! It's great that it looks like you guys are on the coast - not at Disney. Kind of cool!

The afternoon of swimming sounds like a blast!

Too bad about the grumpies! Hopefully supper goes okay.

Whew I just found your TR tonight and I'm all caught up. Being at work the pictures don't come up, so I can't wait to get home and go through the TR again and put faces to everyone. Really enjoying and waiting patiently for the next installment
popcorn::Yum good popcorn!!!

I like short naps too. Long naps make me grumpier, but I guess not for my kids. Dinner plans should be posted shortly:goodvibes

You're welcome. I predict you fall in love with the beach club:lovestruc

The photo shoot location is nice because I can hang them all over my house and only fellow Disney lovers realize my Disney obsession. Everyone else just thinks they are lovely pictures;)

Day 4, Part V
We hopped off the monorail at the TTC. DH and I discussed what to do. We decided to head to Chef Mickey’s and just keep our fingers crossed that everyone cheers up. The boys thought it was pretty cool when we went right into the hotel and hopped off the train. Things were looking up.:) We went down to the restaurant and there was a line of about 20 people waiting to check in. DH didn’t believe this was the check in line, but it was. We finally made it to the front and got our beeper. We then were told to wait in the line for the picture. Well the 20 people in front of us in the check out line were now in the photo line.:rolleyes1 So we passed on the picture line and about 2 minutes later our beeper went off. (So we would never have made the picture line anyway.) We were seated and the juggling of getting food and not missing the characters began. (I think I’ve said this before, but that is what I don’t like about the Character buffets.) The food was quite good. The Parmesan potatoes that I’d read so much about were interesting. They weren’t bad, just not what I was expecting. The dessert bar was a big hit especially with the kids. They loved the sundae bar with all the different toppings.:cool1: The Mickey Mousse ears were super cute, but too sweet we all agreed. So that is our food critique. Here are the pictures.:yay:
First up was Goofy.

He literally started jumping up and down when he saw DH’s shirt.:rotfl2:

Next up was Pluto. Michael immediately went in for his hug.

Then it was Donald, one of John’s favorites.

DSC00648.jpg

Then it was the Chef himself.

DSC00651.jpg

Then Minnie finally showed up.

DSC00655.jpg

I think it’s pretty obvious from the photos that the kids all came out of their funk. They loved Chef Mickey’s and dinner was a great success. In fact this ranks as Michael’s favorite meal of the trip. I’m glad we didn’t go back to the room for pizza.
Next we were planning a monorail back and an Epcot evening. Would I get my family picture with the Epcot ball after all?

I see smiles.....;) Yay!!:yay:for the grumpiness going away!!! I knew if anything could make your kids smile it would be Chef Mickey's!! It such a fun place.:thumbsup2

That's great you went to Chef Mickey's and it went well!

That dessert bar is nice, isn't it?!

Fun pictures, looks like it was a happy time! :)

ABSOLUTELY gorgeous photo shoot at the Beach Club-so worth it!:goodvibes

Poor babies do look a little out of sorts on the monorail...:sad1:-but I do think that swimming is so much fun you don't usually realize how much energy you are actually expending...and sometimes a shortish nap can be harder than no nap (unless you can really settle in for over an hour) because you just start getting cozy and then you have to get up-I think its a biorythm kind of thing :confused3...

It does look as everyone perked up at Chef Mickey's though...:)

I hope you get your Spaceship Earth photo...

soo glad the kids lost their grumpiness!! the shirts were brillant! I love Chef Mickets for the feelings of fun and happiness--just like DH's smile with Goofy:cool1::lmao:

Oh my goodness, finally got to get caught up! Loved Wendys picture with Prince Caspian! That is so funny that you didn't even hear DH talking to you!:lmao:

What great photopass pictures on main street on your mother/daughter night!! The poor balloon guy was certainly having a rough time of things! Wendys sandwhich was cute and I love her poses showing it off. She is so cute!

My goodness, when you handed off the camera for Spectro, Wendy did a great job! Your DH did a fantastic job of showcasing BC on his morning walk also. Love the picture of the mama duck, ducklings and black birds. Too cute! Also enjoyed the pictures you took of the boys playing on the beach! What wonderful memories all your pictures are!:goodvibes

LOVE your photopass shoot pictures! I bet the beach picture on your wall makes you smile every time you walk bye it, I know I would!!

Glad everyone recovered their good moods for chef mickeys! Looking forward to more!

looks like you had a great time :goodvibes

Yay! Looks like you had fun at Chef Mickey's!

It was a fun dinner! The kids want to do it again next time.

Yea! I knew those grumpies couldn't last too long.:goodvibes

I see smiles.....;) Yay!!:yay:for the grumpiness going away!!! I knew if anything could make your kids smile it would be Chef Mickey's!! It such a fun place.:thumbsup2
Your are both right. Chef Mickey's was the perfect cure for a case of the Grumpys:goodvibes

That's great you went to Chef Mickey's and it went well!

That dessert bar is nice, isn't it?!

Fun pictures, looks like it was a happy time! :)
They still all talk about that Sundae bar. All those toppings is every kid's dream.

I'm really glad we did the photo shoot.
Clearly I probably should have either skipped the naps or made sure they had more time. Oh well you live and learn:confused3 Luckily they perked up for Chef Mickey's:goodvibes

Prince Caspian was quite a charmer:lovestruc
Wendy and I had a great night at the MK. We still laugh about the balloon guy and she always loves posing for photos (I should call her Vanna White:laughing:)
I love the Beach Club morning pictures. They bring me happy thoughts:goodvibes And you are right on about the beach picture on my wall. It really does brighten my day:goodvibes

Day 4, Part VI
When we arrived at Epcot everyone was in a much better mood so I got my family Epcot picture.:yay:
Image315.jpg

Image318.jpg

I love these shots with the kids because they each have their favorite Disney character on their shirts. (I know. Silly details make me smile;))
Image320.jpg

Image321.jpg

After we took the pictures John was hankering to take a ride back in time so we jumped on Spaceship Earth. I rode with John and got this lovely shot.
DSC00662.jpg

When we finished the ride the exit area was less crowded than we’d ever seen it. Usually we just walk right through because there are waits for all the games. This evening though there was almost no wait so the kids and DH played a round of this.
DSC00670.jpg

DSC00671.jpg

They were somehow collecting alternative power sources and building cities. I didn’t quite get the plot:confused:, but everyone thought it was fun.

After we built a city the size of Cleveland, we didn’t know where to go next. DH suggested we mozy on over to the Seas as we hadn’t been there yet this trip. On the way we saw the Character Connections and John wanted in. I mentioned we had just eaten dinner with these exact same characters, but that didn’t deter him.:rolleyes1 The line was about 20 minutes long and Wendy thought it was ridiculous to wait in a line to see characters we just ate with (always the practical one). So DH took Wendy and Michael over to the Seas while John and I hopped in line. This isn’t a bad line at all. It’s air conditioned and there are TVs playing classic Disney cartoons. Thus the wait wasn’t bad and we got to meet the entire Fab 5.:thumbsup2 The characters were really playful this evening, and John loved his time with Mommy. (Remember he has a bit of a crush on me.:lovestruc)

First up was Mickey.
Image325.jpg

Image327.jpg

Then Pluto
Image331.jpg

Image334.jpg

Then comes Minnie. These pictures are unique because John has never had a picture alone with Minnie. That is usually Wendy’s prerogative.
Image335.jpg

Image338.jpg

She loved my shirt. She let me know Mickey was her true love.
Image340.jpg

Donald was next. What would he think of our shirts?

Your family pic in Epcot turned out great!!:thumbsup2 I just love the character shirts!! We did something very similar on our MK day. I'm thinking about doing it again on our next trip.;)

The picture of your kids looking down at Tinkerbell is so cute!!!

We haven't done Spaceship Earth yet.:confused3 It's definitely a must-do next time.:thumbsup2 I didn't even realize that they had an interactive/game area after the ride. Hmmm....the boys would love that!!

What a great set of photos...it looks like you guys had a great time meeting characters!!!!!

Love the kids shirts!! Can't wait to hear more!!!

I know how I sometimes feel after a nap if it's any longer than 10 - 15 minutes. Makes me feel icky. Glad they all perked up at dinner!

Great family photo. :goodvibes
