The Darling Family June 2010 Trip Report: When are the Parents Showing Up?11/5 New TR

Wow the Pirate League looks like sooo much fun and check you out Amelia, you make a good pirate :teeth:

The boys looked like they had a blast and great pirate names :thumbsup2

The pirate league looks awesome!!! My kids are trying the Albatross Cruise but maybe next time I'll consider this instead.

Amanda
My boys did the Albatross Cruise later in the trip and loved that too. I don't think I'll get to it on my trip report until after you've already left for your trip. When I asked them to tell me their favorite part of the trip they couldn't decided between Pirate's League and the Albatross Cruise so I'm sure your kids will love it too!

You guys turned into great pirates! Two scary ones and one pretty one. :)
You are too kind! I think we're all a bit scary looking!

What a great update!!:thumbsup2 I love all your pics!pirate: It looks like you had so much fun!! I'll have to show Noah your pictures tomorrow! I just know he'll want to give it a try next trip!!:goodvibes
Noah would absolutely love it. It is relatively reasonable too. $30 for the experience. (Of course you have to pay extra if you want the photos.)

The whole thing was such a blast! And I do make a decent pirate, I must say!

You and the boys look great! You must of had so much fun spending time with your boys and being a kid again!
The boys and I did have so much fun just playing on this trip. I suppose we should have missed DH and Wendy, but I have to confess we really didn't.:rolleyes1 We were having too much fun!

We’d just finished Pirate’s League and were once again without definite plans. I asked the boys if they wanted to wait around for Captain’s Jack show, but they didn’t really have any interest. I wanted one thing. A photopass picture of the pirate garb. (Of course.) So we headed toward the hub. Michael started rummaging through his pirate pouch with the stuff and found these really ugly teeth. He put them in for just a second

Pretty ugly, huh. Luckily he didn’t like them so that is the only time he wore them. We arrived at the hub and found a photographer.:yay:

It was right around 3:00 and there were people lining up for the afternoon parade. It was hot! So hot that there were actually places open on the hub right at 3:00. So even though we weren’t planning on it we decided to stay and watch the parade. The boys sat down on the pavement.

As we were waiting a CM came up to Michael and showed him how to growl with a sign language R to say “Arrrrrgh.” That came in handy throughout the rest of the day. I sat down beside the boys on the pavement and lasted about 30 seconds before my behind starting burning. I don’t know how the boys managed to sit on the hot sidewalk, but I stood up. It didn’t take more than a couple of minutes for the parade to begin.

Look Wendy was scared of the two little pirates. (She didn’t realize they were her little brothers in disguise.);)

There is still more parade to come, but you’ll have to wait for the next update.

It looks like a great time at Pirates League!! You guys look great!! ;) Love the beginning of the parade shots.

YAY YAY!! I have been waiting for this PL update! What a fantastic experience, you all look great! I love the idea of getting a pirate name. So cool! The POC necklace looks awesome too pirate:

OK: Questions I have (if you don't mind ;))

1) Were there different packages to pick from? Did the pirate outfit come with yours, or did you bring it from home?

2) Was the atmosphere "scary" or do they make it fun/scary? My 3 year old loves pirates but would be scared if there was loud scary music and screaming pirates.

3) Was the PP picture and frame inlcuded?

4) Was it crowded? Approx how long did it take for one child (mine is just going to get a mustache for face paint)?

I am so happy that you had such a great time. Thanks in advance for answering my questions

Great parade and PP pics :thumbsup2

Gosh it sounds like it was really hot sitting there, esp in that part as its so open. I was looking at the weather on my phone for Orlando yesterday and its supposed to be 34C this week!

It was a fabulous time! And more parade is coming up.

You lasted longer than us. We were out of there before 3:00. It was so hot!! Good for you!!

Love the parade pics:lovestruc
It was hot that day! I'm sure we wouldn't have lasted so long except we had the Pirate's League scheduled so we stayed.

OK: Questions I have (if you don't mind ;))

1) Were there different packages to pick from? Did the pirate outfit come with yours, or did you bring it from home? The base package was $30 and then if you wanted any extras you just bought them. There were costumes for sale but I didn't even look at them so I can't tell you anything about them. We brought the pirate shirts with us. I got them for $7 on clearance and they were perfect!

2) Was the atmosphere "scary" or do they make it fun/scary? My 3 year old loves pirates but would be scared if there was loud scary music and screaming pirates. It wasn't scary at all. Just fun. I don't remember any music so if there is any it is just in the background. And there were no screaming pirates.

3) Was the PP picture and frame inlcuded? The PP picture and frame were $15 extra. After I bought them I added the pictures to my photopass card.

4) Was it crowded? Approx how long did it take for one child (mine is just going to get a mustache for face paint)? It wasn't crowded when we went. We had an appointment, but I'm pretty sure we could have just walked in. It took about an hour from start to finish. It may be less for only 1 of you. Though we all went at once the boys had to wait a few minutes for me because I started a bit later.

I am so happy that you had such a great time. Thanks in advance for answering my questions
Your son will love it! I definitely recommend it!

Your PL experience look so fun! Both boys look so cute...er..I mean scary! pirate:
Michael does actually look a little scary, but John can't look scary even when he tries:laughing:

YAY for the Parade! :yay:Love all your parade and photopass pics!:goodvibes Can't wait to see more!popcorn::
More parade and photopass pictures in the next update! Can't have a whole update without photopass pictures:rolleyes:

Great parade and PP pics :thumbsup2

It was definitely hot! I'm sure it's hot down on Orlando now too! It's hot here in Maryland! It's been a hot summer! Hopefully it cools down for you in September.

Now I want to do the Pirate League. Looks like a lot of fun and I love the pics! And what a cool Mom you are to become a Pirate also.

Love that the CM showed you the sign for Aarrrrggghhh!

The parade was still in full swing when these lovely ladies headed our way.

The Stepmother did not like the looks of the pirates sitting on the side of the road.

DSC01928.jpg

In fact she quickly took her daughters and prudently escorted them to the other side of the street. I guess she was afraid of pillaging:laughing:.

Some princesses followed.

Then a cowboy showed up. He showed no fear of the pirates.

The cowgirl seemed to like them too.:goodvibes

The final float made its way down the street.

And Donald spotted his #1 fan.:cool1:

What a great parade! We received tons of attention in our pirate garb! We happily made our way toward the exit of the park. We needed to get to our early dinner, but first we stopped in the photo center in Exposition Hall to get the Pirates’s League pictures added to our photopass card. The boys did some pin trading while we were there and I realized I wanted to get one more shot of them in their Pirate Garb on Main Street. (My philosophy is you can never have too many Photopass pictures.) So we headed back out to the street and found a photographer to take these goodys. Michael had lost his bandana by this point. It was too hot.

I love this one of the pirates catching Tinkerbell!:lmao:

We really did need to get moving if we wanted to make our ADR on time. So we headed out of the park. Anyone want to guess where dinner was?

Aww bless, such a cute photo with Tink.

Love the interaction with the Tremaines

You sooooo made me want to schedule an appointment at the Pirates League. I wonder if my 13 year old son would think he's too old? Probably not. I just wish they had something like this for the boys years ago.

I'm terrible at guessing but you mentioned leaving the park so I'm going to guess.....heck, I'm terrible at guessing :rotfl2: I should pay more attention!

Great pics!!!! I agree about photopass. If you've already paid for a cd, you might as well get lots of photos!
Glad the kids liked the Albatross Cruise.

Amanda

Hey Jenny!

Y'all make awesome pirates! :thumbsup2 And wonderful parade photos. :goodvibes I need to go back and see what I've missed. :rolleyes1

You guys look great! :cheer2: How fun and what great memories the boys will have of their mom having fun with them! :goodvibes

So even though we weren’t planning on it we decided to stay and watch the parade.

Way to go with the flow! :woohoo: Your parade pics turned out great; thanks for sharing!

Well, looking back at your PTR, today was supposed to be a CS at the resort. Sooooo, I have no idea where you are headed! :rotfl:

I hope we are able to catch the parade, but I do not think it is going to work out for us. We will see though.
