The Darling Family June 2010 Trip Report: When are the Parents Showing Up?11/5 New TR

Glad you enjoyed WPE. One of our favorites. :thumbsup2

I loved the breakfast buffet at Tusker House. Yummmm!

Great update, I love how the characters look in their safari outfits! I tried to get TH for this trip, but had no luck...maybe next year:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear about Wendy's adventure!!!:thumbsup2
Bummer you couldn't get into Tusker House! But you're right there is always next trip:goodvibes

What a fantastic morning! I have never done TH for breakfast--perhaps it should be on our radar this June. . .
It's a fun breakfast! The outfits are just so cute:cutie:

Breakfast looked wonderful. Krispy Kremes :lmao:! Could you imagine if those were sold at Disney. At least my DH would be willing to go more.
I know people love their Krispy Kremes. Personally we have these awesome donuts at our local grocery store (Shoppers for any locals.) They are huge and they are my favorite donuts. Though I try to avoid them. I think donuts may win the prize as unhealthiest of all foods:laughing:

I'm looking forward to our TH breakfast!! :goodvibes
I know it's because of the donuts;)

Enjoying your TR. Looking forward to your next updates. Which breakfast has been your favorite?
That is a tough one because I like different things about each of them. Crystal Palace is probably my favorite overall simply because I love the empty Main Street before open. I love Ohana breakfast because I like being served instead of having to schlepp to the buffet. The think I like best about Tusker House is the characters. So cute in those outfits! I did like it better before Donald was the host and he actually came around to the tables. There was a bit more interaction with him then and I liked that better. So don't know if I really answered your question or not:laughing:

I think I'm all caught up!
We had a few days that were just brutally hot and the kids wanted to go back to the hotel and chill out. Love the boat ride to Downtown Disney. We did that last year from Saratoga Springs!

Amanda
Pretty impressive you're all caught up considering you just got back from your own trip. That hot weather really does put a stop to the commando days. I think that is a good thing though.

Great updates :thumbsup2 Looks like you had a great afternoon/evening in DTD. Loving the Make Your Own Treats at Goofy's :teeth:

Tusker breakfast looked like lots of fun :)
I'd wager you'll be getting some Make Your Own Treats of your own rather soon;)

Glad you enjoyed WPE. One of our favorites. :thumbsup2

WPE was awesome! We actually went there again later in the trip!

We headed out of Tusker House and what did we find?

It’s another empty rope!:cool1: The boys couldn’t believe their luck. It looked like they would be the winner of the Safari Race as well. I never mentioned that no one else was really aware of the race. Anyway as they anticipated their triumph to come I relaxed and snapped a few pictures of Africa.

It wasn’t long before the front gate crowd starting surging for us.

I thought they might wait until the crowd got all the way to us before they dropped our rope. That would give my boys some competition for winning the Safari Race.:rolleyes1 Luckily they dropped the rope before the crowd reached us and we headed into the Safari line. We were on the first row of the first truck out that morning. My boys were cheering another victory.:lmao:

I think my boys enjoyed winning the Safari Race more than they enjoyed the Safari itself. It was a fun ride as usual, though they still haven’t fixed that bridge.;) No trip report is complete without some Safari pictures so here you go.

It still wasn’t even 9:30 as we headed out of Africa. We still had a few minutes we could stay in the park. Where did we head next?

Wow! You guys are the kings and queen of rope drop races. Way to go!!

I look forward to hearing all about Wendy's cruise.

I guess you could say rope drop is our specialty:laughing: One of these days soon I'll get to Wendy's cruise.

Love the Tusker House breakfast. I think that was my favorite breakfast on our last trip. Yay for winning the safari dash!

Wow--what luck with the safari! I love the pictures--I wonder if that's the same giraffe that stopped us. It sure does look like it!

Great pics of an empty park! Those pictures really brought a smile to my face, I love AK and sometimes we're rushing so fast to get somewhere we forget to enjoy the scenery around us.....great shots:worship:

Well your TH experience was completely different from mine! Except for the great food!;)

At least I now know how great things can be when you arrive when you are supposed to arrive!:rotfl: Wow...10 minutes really can make or break ya here!

Great rope drop moment too!;)

Great updates!!:goodvibes It sounds like you had such a fun night at DTD! Yay for WPE! We love it there! I was sad that we missed it last trip...everything is always so good there! Oh and make your own treats at Goofy's is always a must-do!:thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed the Tusker House! That juice is so yummy! Cute pictures of the boys and the characters.:)

:woohoo: for winning the safari dash!!! You guys are on a roll!! Aww...we love the front seat of the safari ride...it doesn't feel as bumpy and I'm usually able to get much better pictures.:thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear about Wendy's cruise and I'm excited to see what you decided to do next.popcorn::

Tusker House is a great breakfast! I hope we get back soon.

That isn't luck winning the safari dash. That is nothing but plain skill:rolleyes::lmao:

Look at you winning all the rope drop races! :rotfl2:

Amanda
Too bad they don't give out awards. For every rope drop we win how about a free night at the resort of our choice. Of course that might increase the competition:laughing:

That is one of the things I love about those early breakfast. The chance to spend a bit of time in an empty park.

I went back and read your TH experience and it was pretty much the exact opposite of ours. I guess I'm very glad I was there early!

DTD was a nice change from the parks and WPE is my new favorite CS. We'd never been in the front seat of the Safari before so that was fun. Last trip we were in the very back seat and Michael loved all the bumps. He spent the whole time laughing. So I guess there is good to each. Eventually I'll get to Wendy's cruise.

We only had an hour to spend in Animal Kingdom this morning so we really had to prioritize. Obviously the Safari was #1. What was #2 for my boys? Dinosaur Dumbo (otherwise known as Triceratop Spin.) So we exited Africa and headed towards Dinoland. Of course we had to stop when we passed the drums.

We were distracted once again by this fellow who had no line.

You’ll notice in many of these pictures Michael is getting a little ahhh.. . friendly?:lmao:

I didn’t even notice the great view of Tree of Life until I saw the pictures later.

After our bug encounter we continued our journey towards Dinoland. Michael starting complaining about being hot, but I told him we had to carry on. I snapped this picture of Everest as we walked by.

Would we make it to Dinoland or we would be distracted once again?

Lol, loving the Flik pics. There are so many new characters coming out of the woodwork. Did you hear about Maleficent at International Gateway?!?

:lmao::lmao: I love the pictures with Flik...Flik's reaction in the one too is hilarious.

WOW, awesome you made it to rope drop before the crowd too. Nice job winning the race. ;)

Love the Flik pictures! We have some of my mom with Flik from California Adventure a few years ago that I love.

Amanda

Great updates!! What great luck being the first at the KS rope drop. :goodvibes Poor Michael--I'm sure he will not be fond of those pictures at some point in his life. ;)
