to the riddle.....here is the 411 on how to play everyday.....complete with rules and riddle history.....


First...how to play.....

Every weekday, a riddle is posted by a different poster called the Riddle Goddess. This is a big responsibility which involves FINDING a riddle that EVERYONE will like and have just the right degree of difficulty. A daunting task I assure you!


You then....read the riddle.....and PM your answer to the Riddle Goddess who posted it. After the Riddle Goddess reads your PM with the correct answer....you will receive your TU.....aka as the THumbs UP ....which is a picture (usually of Mickey) with your name above it. This means you are correct and you are IN!

If...you don't know the answer to the riddle.....feel free to ask around or read the posts for "mints" which are what we call HINTS. Sometimes they are subtle and sometimes they practically give you the answer.
If you still need help.....just post that you need a mint and one will come winging to your PM box....from someone!

The most important part of the riddle...is the FUN. Stay...post....have a good time. We are a very friendly welcoming group and we enjoy new people. Some of us however have been riddling a long time and know each other well....but we are willing to explain any inside jokes. (Kinda like Im doing now)

One little warning or word of caution: the riddle is addicting... some days, it will cause you to get NOTHING done. Because well, fun is hard to stay away from...isn't it?


Some terms to define:


Mints=Hints

Mr. Google= your friend some days

the Wooooo Hooooooooty: this is the appropriate jubilation ceremony for reaching the 100th post of the day. People fight for it. We don't always make it but when we do...it's a great source of riddle pleasure. We like lots of OOOOOOOOO's in it! this is NOT however...the PURPOSE of the riddle

the Tooooooty Hooooooty: this is what we do when we reach the 200th riddle post. Because well, who can stop at just one?

TU = thumbs up ....riddle answer correct!

Some other rules that I haven't touched on.:

1. The riddle goddess is always right. (even if you think you have the right answer...well, if it's not what she is looking for....then that ain't it)

and please try to remember that sometimes the Riddle Goddess has a life too...outside the riddle! {{gasp}} I know! but it's true!

2. Loubon is always wrong. (and don't listen to him when he complains about Mr. Google). We love him though so sometimes we let him think he's right.

3. Posting a Hi whether you know the answer or not is a must. Because we get attached to you and well, we like to make sure you aren't dead if we haven't heard from you in a while.

4. IF you are the first riddler in...you get Marching Mickey and you lead the parade of riddlers for the day. It's your responsibility to take the rest of us somewhere fun! We like to go new places and we like pictures...lol!

5. The last rule is ...have a good time, be nice to others while you are here and if you have a lot of outside business to discuss with someone from another thread, etc....that's what PM's are for. (monopolizers are no fun) And don't forget to laugh. Cause that's what we do.

For those of you that did not know, the original daily riddle was posted no the Games forum inside of the CB. The members have since dwindled, down to about 2 active members.

So, why don't we bring it to the TB? A riddle will be posted every weekday (excluding holidays) on the TB!

Chapter 1 ~ Terminology, Rules, and Milestones

Terminology
Yes, us riddlers use some wacky terms! Here's a Riddlish-English dictionary to help translate terms!

RG- Riddle God(dess)- The riddle host(ess) for the day.

TU- Thumbs Up- A picture that is posted that represents that you PMed the correct answer to the RG

MM- Marching Mickey- Shows that you were the first to PM the correct answer to the RG and are thereby the leader for the day

Leader- If you are the leader, you lead our discussion for the day! A great way to lead is with pictures. The topic is some times Disney Themed.

In- If you know that the answer you PMed to the RG is correct, post "I'm in!" before receiving your TU.

PM Sent- Post this before receiving your TU if you are not sure if the answer you sent the RG is correct.

Mr. Google- Your friend for finding the answer some days .

Mint- A hint

Try a Bite- Take a guess

Rules
Because everything needs rules

1) NEVER post an answer. Please PM the RG your answer.

2) NEVER post a riddle unless you are the assigned RG for the day, or it is not posted before 12 noon Pacific. If there is already a riddle before 12 noon Pacific, don't post another one!

3) ALWAYS join in with the leader's topic for the day!

4) NEVER argue about an answer. The RG is always right.

5) NEVER post a mint that gives the answer away

Chapter 2 ~ Procedures, Becomming and RG, and Schedule

Procedures

Non-RG

1) Check the TB every day for a riddle! Press ctrl+F on the first page of the TB and search for "Riddle." Check the second page if it's not on the first.

2) PM the RG your answer!

3) Post either "I'm in!" or "PM sent!."

4) As you await your TU, join in with the leader's topic!

5) If the RG replies to your PM with a , your TU should be coming shortly!

6) If the RG replies to your PM with a

, try again!

Leader

1) You will know that you are the leader if your TU looks like this:

2) Pick a topic and post it! A great way to lead is with pictures from www.google.com/imghp!

3) Join in the conversation!

Becomming an RG

PM me if you want to be an RG

Here are the steps for an RG:
1) Find a Riddle
2) Find a TU from Google, Pinpics.com, whatever
3) Select one of the above Leader TUs
4) Post your riddle
5) Try to enforce the milestones
6) For each correct answer, reply to the PM with a :*thumbsup2 (remove the *)
For an incorrect answer, reply to the PM with a [IMG*]http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc279/psu52545/thumbsup2.gif[/IMG] (remove the *)
7) Post the leader's TU
If you do not know how to post an image from a website, don't worry, PM me and I will give you my guide to posting pictures from a website.
8) If you have more than one answer in your PM box, remember, the bottom one is the first
9) Post the TUs in order from first to last. Please format the person's title the exact same way that it shows in the PM
10) Remember to check in every once in a while to give TUs in order from the bottom PM to the top
11) Participate like everyone else does!
